How to Fill

CAUTION: Turn off and unplug the unit before filling.

NOTE: Use two hands to carry the water tank. The top-fill tank can be filled with a pitcher or at the faucet. For best results, use distilled water.

Using Demineralization Cartridges

The demineralization cartridge helps reduce white dust caused by hard water. Replace every 30-40 fillings, or more often with very hard water.

To Fill with a Pitcher:

  1. Before first use, remove and soak cartridge in water for 10 minutes.
  2. Remove tank cover.
  3. Fill tank with clean, cool or distilled water to the MAX line. DO NOT use warm or hot water.
  4. Add soaked cartridge to water tank.
  5. Replace tank cover.

To Fill at the Faucet:

  1. Before first use, remove and soak cartridge in water for 10 minutes.
  2. Remove tank cover and water tank.
  3. Fill tank with clean, cool or distilled water to the MAX line. DO NOT use warm or hot water.
  4. Add soaked cartridge to water tank.
  5. Reassemble, ensuring all parts are seated firmly.

About White Dust

White dust is mineral residue from hard water. It is not a defect but a result of minerals suspended in the water.

How to Use the Oil Tray

CAUTION: Only use the oil tray for essential oils; placing oil elsewhere will damage the humidifier.

  1. Locate the oil tray at the back/bottom of the humidifier base.
  2. Push to open and remove the tray.
  3. Use a pre-installed essential oil pad (3 included).
  4. Add 5-7 drops of essential oil to the pad.
  5. Place the tray back and push to close. Scent activates when mist is on.

NOTE: Use only with included Homedics pads. Remove used pads when storing for long periods.

Essential Oils and Pets: Use caution. Keep oils and diffusers out of reach of pets. Diffuse in well-ventilated areas and allow pets to leave the room if needed. Observe pet reactions carefully. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Seek medical attention if ingested.
