Top Cover

The humidifier consists of a top cover, base unit, water tank, and AC adapter.

Controls:

Components:

How to Fill

Caution: Before filling the tank, turn off and unplug the humidifier. Always use two hands to carry the water tank.

To Fill with a Pitcher:

  1. Remove the top cover. Rinse the tank with water before filling.
  2. Fill with clean, cool or distilled water (if in an area with hard water) until the water level reaches the MAX fill line. DO NOT fill with warm or hot water.
  3. Caution: Never add essential oils or other additives to the water tank or reservoir.
  4. Replace the top cover.

To Fill at the Faucet:

About White Dust:

Using hard water may cause a white mineral residue, or "white dust," to accumulate on surfaces near the humidifier. This is due to minerals suspended in the water and not a defect in the humidifier. Use distilled water if white dust is an issue.

How to Operate

Insert the single pin plug into the back of the humidifier, then plug the adapter into a 120-volt AC electrical outlet. The power/out-of-water LED will glow red when the tank is empty.

How to Use Oil Tray

Caution: Putting oil anywhere but the oil tray will damage the humidifier.

  1. Locate the oil tray on the back of the humidifier. Push to open and remove the oil tray.
  2. Add 5-7 drops of essential oil to one of the included essential oil pads (3 total). You may use more or less depending on personal preference.
  3. Caution: Only place essential oil on the pad, NOT directly into the tray.
  4. Place the oil tray back into its compartment and push to close. The scent will start automatically when the mist is turned on.

Note: Use only with the included Homedics essential oil pads. Do not leave a used pad in the oil tray if the unit will be unused for a long period.

Are Essential Oils Safe to Use Around Pets?

Exercise caution when using essential oils around pets. Keep all essential oil and aromatherapy products out of reach of pets. Keep open bottles away from pets to avoid ingestion. Do not apply essential oils topically to pets. When diffusing, always do so in a well-ventilated area and allow pets to leave the space if they choose. Observe your pet's response carefully. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. Seek veterinary attention if ingestion occurs.

How to Clean and Care

Caution: Before cleaning, turn off and unplug the humidifier. Clean over a waterproof surface near a faucet.

Weekly Cleaning:

  1. Remove the tank cover and pour out any water from the tank.
  2. Wipe the inside of the top cover with a damp soft cloth.
  3. Rinse the water tank with room temperature water. Dry with a soft cloth and set aside.
  4. Wipe the 2 transducer/ultrasonic membranes with a damp cotton swab.
  5. Dry thoroughly and reassemble.

Scale Removal (Perform every 2 months, before storage, or as needed):

Failure to descale may cause reduced or no mist output.

  1. Prepare 2 cups (0.5L) of a cleaning solution using a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water.
  2. Remove the tank cover and pour out any water from the tank.
  3. Fill the tank with the vinegar-water solution. Place the top cover on the water tank. Let soak for 15-20 minutes to loosen scale/mineral buildup.
  4. Remove the top cover and pour out the solution from the water tank. Rinse the water tank with clean water until the vinegar smell is gone and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Caution: Never submerge the base in water or any other liquid.
  5. Wipe the inside of the top cover with a damp soft cloth until the vinegar smell is gone.
  6. Dry thoroughly and reassemble.

Cleaning the Oil Tray:

  1. Open the oil tray and remove the pad.
  2. Rinse the oil tray with water and wipe dry with a soft cloth. DO NOT clean with detergent or liquid cleaners.

Note: If continuing to use the same scent, set the oil pad aside for reuse. DO NOT leave a used pad in the oil tray when storing.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry location.

Before Storing:

  1. Descale the humidifier following the Scale Removal instructions.
  2. Clean the oil tray following the Cleaning the Oil Tray instructions. DO NOT leave a used pad in the oil tray when storing.

After Storing:

  1. Rinse the tank with water prior to operating.
