BOSJÖN Faucet Installation Guide
Important Information & Compliance
Installation must be performed in compliance with current local construction and plumbing regulations. If in doubt, contact a professional.
Safety First: Shutting Off Water
Before changing or installing the mixer tap, always switch off the main shut-off valve to prevent water damage. Ensure the main water supply is turned off before commencing any work.
Product Overview & Specifications
The BOSJÖN faucet is designed for efficient water use. Recommended operating conditions include:
- Water Temperature: Max 80°C (176°F)
- Water Pressure: 1-5 bar (0.1-0.5 MPa / 14.5-72.5 psi) for standard operation, and 0.5-10 bar (0.05-1 MPa / 7.2-145 psi) for maximum.
Components: The faucet assembly includes the main faucet body, flexible hoses, mounting hardware (washers, nuts, bracket), and an aerator/flow guide. Tools typically required include a wrench (2x indicated).
Installation Steps
- Mounting the Faucet: Insert the faucet through the countertop hole. The required hole diameter is 34-37 mm (1 3/8 - 1 1/2 inches). The countertop thickness should not exceed 50 mm (2 inches).
- Securing the Faucet: From underneath the countertop, attach the provided mounting bracket, washers, and nut to secure the faucet firmly. Tighten the components, but do not overtighten.
- Connecting Hoses: Connect the flexible hoses to the faucet body and the water supply lines. Ensure all connections are snug but avoid excessive force, as this can damage the hoses, pipes, or washers.
- Aerator/Flow Guide: Before initial use, unscrew the aerator/flow guide with a coin. Allow water to run freely for a few minutes to flush out any debris. Then, screw the aerator/flow guide back into place until it stops. Do not overtighten.
Sealing and Leak Prevention
Seal any open surfaces or joints with silicone sealant (not included) to prevent water from penetrating the countertop in case of leaks. This step is crucial for protecting your countertop material.
Important Warnings
- Overtightening: Be cautious not to tighten connections too hard. Overtightening can damage hoses, pipes, and washers, leading to leaks or component failure.
- Regular Checks: Periodically check the installation to ensure there are no leaks. Regular maintenance helps maintain the faucet's performance and longevity.
First Use and Maintenance
After installation, flush the system by running water through the faucet for a few minutes. Periodically inspect all connections for leaks to ensure the installation remains secure and watertight.
