Assembly Instructions

Step 1: Mounting Plate Preparation

Loosely thread the screws (AA) and the hex nuts (DD) onto the round mounting plate (CC) as shown. Adjust the screw length according to the fixture canopy depth.

Visual Description: Diagram shows the round mounting plate (CC) with screws (AA) and hex nuts (DD) attached. Arrows indicate adjusting the position of the hex nuts (DD) on the screws (AA) to set the desired length.

Step 2: Attaching Assembly to Outlet Box

Attach this assembly to the outlet box using the mounting screws supplied with the outlet box (not provided). Tighten securely. Lift up the fixture and pass the screws (AA) through the two mounting holes in the fixture canopy. While holding the fixture with one hand, thread the screws (AA) in or out of the round mounting plate (CC) until approximately 3/16" of threads are showing. This should be enough to mount the fixture as instructed in ceiling step 7 & hanging step 8. Next, take the fixture down and tighten the hex nuts (DD) up against the mounting plate (CC). This ensures the correct thread length for mounting the fixture.

Visual Description: Diagram shows the mounting plate assembly attached to the ceiling. Another diagram shows the fixture canopy being lifted, with screws (AA) passing through its holes and threading into the mounting plate (CC). An inset shows an "INCORRECT" state with too much thread showing and a "CORRECT" state with approximately 3/16" [5mm] of thread showing. Arrows indicate screwing the hex nuts (DD) up against the mounting plate (CC) to lock the screw length.

Step 3: Adjusting Fixture Arms

Equally adjust the arms by carefully turning them out from the center.

Visual Description: Diagram shows the fixture body with arms, and arrows indicating rotation to spread the arms outwards from the center.

Step 4: Connecting Stem to Fixture

Slip the fixture (A) wires through stem (D) and seat ring (E). Thread stem (D) into fixture (A). Attach the seat ring (E) into the stem (D).

Visual Description: Diagram shows fixture wires passing through stem (D) and seat ring (E). Stem (D) is shown being threaded into the base of fixture (A). Seat ring (E) is then attached to the stem (D).

Step 5: Attaching Canopy and Securing Stem (Ceiling Mount)

Slip the fixture (A) wires through canopy (G), lock washer (H), and hex nut (J). Place canopy (G) and lock washer (H) down over the nipple of stem (D) and secure in place with hex nut (J).

Visual Description: Diagram shows fixture wires passing through canopy (G), lock washer (H), and hex nut (J). Canopy (G) and lock washer (H) are shown being placed over the stem (D) and secured with hex nut (J).

Step 6: Wiring Connections (Ceiling Mount)

Strip 3/8" of insulation from the electrical wire ends. Using wire nuts (BB), connect the RIBBED fixture wire to the WHITE supply wire from the outlet box; connect the SMOOTH fixture wire to the BLACK supply wire. Connect the fixture ground wire and supply ground wire using a wire nut or by fastening to the ground screw on the round mounting plate. Push all wire connections into the outlet box.

Visual Description: Diagram shows wire stripping. It illustrates connecting wires using wire nuts (BB), specifically showing a "Ribbed" wire connecting to a "WHITE" supply wire and a "Smooth" wire connecting to a "BLACK" supply wire. A separate connection shows the ground wire being connected.

Step 7: Securing Canopy to Mounting Screws (Ceiling Mount)

Pass the screws (AA) through the two holes in the canopy (G). Secure the fixture to the screws (AA) using the two cylinder nuts (EE). Tighten securely.

Visual Description: Diagram shows screws (AA) passing through the canopy (G) and being secured by cylinder nuts (EE).

Step 8: Attaching Glass Shades and Lamps (Ceiling Mount)

Attach the glass shade (B) to the fixture (A) using the socket ring (C) to secure it tightly. Thread the lamps (not included) into the fixture sockets. Use 60-watt MAX incandescent medium base, SBCFL or SBLED.

Visual Description: Diagram shows glass shade (B) being attached to fixture (A) using socket ring (C). It also shows a lamp being threaded into a socket.

Hanging Assembly Instructions

Step 5: Attaching Chain Loop and Canopy (Hanging Mount)

Slip the fixture (A) wires through chain loop (F). Thread the chain loop (F) into stem (D). Slide the canopy (G) and lock washer (H) down over the nipple of chain loop (GG) and secure in place with hex nut (J).

Visual Description: Diagram shows fixture wires passing through chain loop (F) and threaded into stem (D). Canopy (G) and lock washer (H) are shown sliding down over the chain loop (GG) nipple and secured with hex nut (J).

Step 6: Attaching Chain and Quick Link (Hanging Mount)

NOTE: During this step, determine the hanging length of your fixture by removing chain links, optionally cutting the electrical and ground wire to length. Do NOT cut electrical or ground wires until this overall length is determined. Leave AT LEAST 6 inches MINIMUM of wire past the canopy loop (GG) to allow for easy connections in step 7. Chain links can be spread open with 2 pairs of pliers. Twist the split link ends in opposite directions and close by squeezing them back together. Once hanging length is determined, open a chain link at one end of chain (FF) and slip through the chain loop (F). Close the chain links back together with the pliers. Open the quick link (HH) and slip through the chain loop (GG) and the other end of chain (FF). Close the quick link (HH). You can now weave the wires and ground wire through every third chain link (FF), having them exit up through the chain loop (GG) and out the back of the canopy (G).

Visual Description: Diagram shows chain (FF) being attached to chain loop (F). A quick link (HH) is shown attaching chain loop (GG) to chain (FF). Arrows indicate spreading and closing chain links. Wires are shown being routed through the chain.

Step 7: Wiring Connections (Hanging Mount)

Step 8: Securing Canopy to Mounting Screws (Hanging Mount)

Pass the screws (AA) through the two holes in the canopy (G). Secure the fixture to the screws (AA) using the two cylinder nuts (EE). Tighten securely.

Visual Description: Diagram shows screws (AA) passing through the canopy (G) and being secured by cylinder nuts (EE).

Step 9: Attaching Glass Shades and Lamps (Hanging Mount)

Attach the glass shade (B) to the fixture (A) using the socket ring (C) to secure it tightly. Thread the lamps (not included) into the fixture sockets. Use 60-watt MAX incandescent medium base, SBCFL or SBLED.

Visual Description: Diagram shows glass shade (B) being attached to fixture (A) using socket ring (C). It also shows a lamp being threaded into a socket.
