Safety Information
General Caution: Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate, or install the product.
Electrical Caution: Read instructions carefully and turn electricity off at the main circuit breaker panel before beginning installation. Risk of fire: Use a minimum 90°C supply conductor. Consult a qualified electrician to ensure correct branch circuit conductor.
Control Devices Warning: If any Special Control Devices are used with this fixture, follow instructions carefully to assure full compliance with N.E.C. requirements. If there are any questions, contact a qualified electrical contractor.
Handling Caution: All glass is fragile. Use care when handling glass shades and bulbs.
(Note: Similar safety warnings are provided in French and Spanish in the original document.)
Preparation
- Before beginning installation, ensure all parts are included by using the contents diagrams. Do not attempt assembly if any part is missing or damaged.
- Estimated assembly time: 30 minutes.
- Tools required for assembly (not included): Phillips screwdriver, pliers, wire stripper, safety glasses, electrical tape, ladder.
Care and Maintenance
Shut off the main power supply before cleaning the product or changing light bulbs. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or cleaners that contain alcohol.
Assembly Instructions
Step 1
Install the chain holder (EE) onto the nipple (FF). Next, loosely thread the hex nuts (AA) onto the nipple (FF) and then thread this assembly onto the mounting strap (CC). Install this assembly to the outlet box using the mounting screws supplied with the outlet box (not included).
Diagram Description: Shows the chain holder (EE) attached to the nipple (FF), with hex nuts (AA) threaded on. This assembly is then shown being attached to the mounting strap (CC), which is intended for installation into an electrical outlet box.
Step 2
Adjust the depth of the chain holder in relation to the canopy depth. Slip the canopy (HH) over the chain holder (EE). Adjust the chain holder so at least 1/4" (6mm) of the threaded portion of the nipple (FF) is exposed through the canopy hole. This is achieved by adjusting the nipple (FF) on the mounting strap (CC). Once correctly adjusted, remove the canopy (HH) and tighten the top hex nut (AA) against the mounting strap (CC) and the bottom hex nut (AA) against the chain holder (EE).
Diagram Description: Illustrates the canopy (HH) being placed over the chain holder (EE) and nipple (FF). A close-up detail shows the nipple (FF) extending through the canopy, with a measurement indicator for 1/4" (6mm) of exposed thread, and indicates that the nipple can be threaded up or down for adjustment. Hex nuts (AA) are shown securing the assembly.
Step 3
Attach the fixture (A) to the body with arms (C). Open each quick link (JJ) one at a time and attach it onto the fixture loop (C). Close up each quick link (JJ) when finished. Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the screws in the socket brackets and affix sockets in an upright position. Tighten the screws back up to secure sockets in position.
Diagram Description: Shows the main fixture body (A) being connected to the arms (C) using quick links (JJ). A magnified view shows a socket bracket with screws, indicating how to orient and secure the light sockets upright.
Step 4
Determine the hanging length of your fixture by removing chain links (GG) and optionally cutting the electrical and ground wire to length. Do NOT cut electrical or ground wires until the overall length is determined. Leave AT LEAST 6 inches MINIMUM of wire past the chain holder (EE) to allow for easy connections in step 5. Once hanging length is determined, open the quick links (JJ). Attach one quick link (JJ) onto the fixture loop (C) and one end of the chain link (GG). Close the quick link (JJ). Pass the chain (GG) up through the screw collar (DD) and the canopy (HH). Attach the second quick link (JJ) to the other end of the chain (GG) and the chain holder (EE). Close the quick link (JJ). You can now weave the fixture wires through every third chain link (GG). Continue to pass the wires through the screw collar (DD), canopy (HH), and the chain holder (EE) and up into the outlet box.
Diagram Description: Depicts the process of assembling the chain and routing wires. The chain (GG) is shown being connected to the fixture loop (C) and chain holder (EE) via quick links (JJ). Wires are shown being fed through the chain links (GG), screw collar (DD), canopy (HH), and chain holder (EE) towards the outlet box.
Step 5
Strip 3/8" of insulation from the electrical wire ends. Using wire connector (BB), connect the RIBBED fixture wire to the WHITE supply wire from the outlet box; connect the SMOOTH fixture wire to the BLACK supply wire from the outlet box. Connect the fixture ground wire and supply ground wire using a wire connector or by fastening to the ground screw on the mounting strap. Push all wire connections into the outlet box.
Diagram Description: A detailed illustration of electrical wire connections. It shows stripping wire ends, connecting the ribbed fixture wire to the white supply wire, the smooth fixture wire to the black supply wire, and the ground wires together or to the ground screw, using wire connectors (BB).
Step 6
Tuck the wires into the outlet box and slip the canopy (HH) over the chain holder (EE). Thread the screw collar (DD) onto the chain holder (EE) to secure the canopy (HH) tightly to the ceiling.
Diagram Description: Shows the fixture wires being neatly tucked into the electrical outlet box. The canopy (HH) is then shown being slid over the chain holder (EE) and secured by threading the screw collar (DD) onto it, pressing the canopy against the ceiling.
Step 7
Attach candle tube (B) to the fixture socket (A). Thread lamps (not included) into the fixture sockets. Use 60-watt MAX incandescent candelabra base lamps, SBCFL or SBLED.
Diagram Description: Illustrates attaching a candle tube (B) to the fixture socket (A). It also shows lamps being screwed into the sockets.
