Before Installing the Lock: Door and Jamb Preparation

Door Thickness: 1-3/8" to 2" (35mm to 50mm)

Backset: 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60 mm or 70 mm)

Door Hole Diameter: 2-1/8" (54mm)

Door Frame Hole Diameter: 1" (25 mm)

Verify these dimensions are correct for your door.

Installation Steps

1. Prepare the door and check dimensions

   Measure the door hole diameter to confirm it is 2-1/8" (54mm). Measure the backset to confirm it is 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60 or 70mm). Ensure the door thickness is between 1-3/8" and 2" (35mm to 50mm).

2. Choose faceplate

   Select the appropriate faceplate for your door's edge preparation.

3. Install latch and deadbolt

   Keep the latch in the unlocked position before installation. Rotate and pull the latch to extend it. Ensure the latch is parallel to the door edge.

4. Install exterior assembly

   Insert the exterior assembly through the door hole.

5. Install interior assembly

   Route the cable below the latch. Connect the cable to the interior assembly, ensuring a tight connection. Route the cable through the hole in the mounting plate. Secure the mounting plate with supplied screws. Secure the interior assembly with supplied screws. The bolt must be in the unlocked position, and the torque blade should be horizontal.

6. Detect left/right hand door installation

   This step is crucial for the lock's function. Rotate the thumb turn to the vertical position. Insert the horizontal orientation of the torque blade into the interior assembly lock switch.

7. Install batteries and reset

   While the door is open and unlocked, load 3 AA batteries (new, non-rechargeable alkaline recommended) into the interior assembly. Press and hold the reset button using the reset tool until a long "BEEP" is heard. Keep holding the reset button and load the last battery. Continue holding until another long "BEEP" is heard. The lock will automatically go into the locking position, memorizing the door's orientation.

8. Test the lock

   Test the lock by rotating the thumb turn to ensure the bolt extends and retracts smoothly.

Door Preparation and Dimensions

Hole Diameter: 2-1/8" (54mm)

Backset: 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60 or 70mm)

Door Thickness: 1-3/8" to 2" (35mm to 50mm)

Door Frame Hole Depth: Minimum 1" (25mm)

If your door has the required holes, proceed. Otherwise, use a template to drill new holes.

Installation Steps

1. Latch backset adjustment

   The backset is the distance from the door edge to the center of the door hole. The latch has an adjustable design. If your door backset is 2-3/8" (60mm), no adjustment is needed. If it is 2-3/4" (70mm), adjust the latch mechanism.

2. Install latch and strike

   Insert the latch into the door edge hole. Ensure the latch is aligned with the chiseled property. Install the strike plate into the door frame, ensuring the frame hole has a minimum depth of 1" (25mm).

3. Install front and rear knob

   Insert the front knob through the door hole. Ensure the base of the spindle is rotated to align with the hole. Then, install the rear knob.

4. Test the knob

   Keep the door open. Test the front and rear knobs to ensure they operate smoothly.
