Before Installing the Lock, Check Door Jamb and Door Preparation

Ensure the door and jamb are prepared according to the following specifications:

• Door thickness: 1-3/8" to 2" (35mm to 50mm)
• Backset: 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60mm or 70mm)

Door Hole Dimensions:

• For the main hole: 2-1/8" (54mm)
• For the latch hole: 1" (25mm)

Verify these dimensions before proceeding.

Identify all components before starting the installation:

Tool Required: Screwdriver. Do not use an electric screwdriver during installation.

Installation Steps

1. Prepare the door and check dimensions

   Measure to confirm the door hole diameter (2-1/8"/54mm) and the backset (2-3/8" or 2-3/4"/60 or 70mm). Also, measure the hole for the latch (1"/25mm) and confirm the door thickness (1-3/8" to 2"/35mm to 50mm).

2. Choose faceplate

   Select the appropriate faceplate for your door preparation.

3. Install latch and deadbolt

   IMPORTANT: Keep the latch in the unlocked position before installation. Rotate and pull the latch to extend it. Ensure the bolt is in the unlock position. The latch should be aligned with the chiseled properly.

4. Install exterior assembly

   Route the cable below the latch. Connect the cable, ensuring a tight connection. Note the horizontal orientation of the torque blade. Secure the mounting plate with the supplied screws. Ensure the mounting plate is parallel to the door edge.

5. Install interior assembly

   Route the cable through the hole in the mounting plate. Secure the interior assembly with the supplied screws. IMPORTANT: Do not load batteries until the lock is completely installed.

6. Detect left/right hand door installation

   IMPORTANT: This step is required and crucial for the lock after installation! Rotate the thumb turn to the vertical position and insert the horizontal orientation of the torque blade into the interior assembly lock switch.

7. Install batteries and test

   While the door is open and unlocked, load 3 AA batteries (new, non-rechargeable alkaline batteries recommended for best results) into the interior assembly. Press and hold the reset button using the reset tool until a long "BEEP" is heard. Load the last battery while still holding the reset button. Continue holding until another long "BEEP" is heard. The lock will automatically go into the locking position, memorizing the door orientation.

   Test the lock by rotating the thumb turn to ensure the bolt extends and retracts smoothly.

Knob Installation (Separate Section)

This section details the installation of a door knob, which may be a separate component or part of a different model.

Parts List for Knob Installation:

• A Latch x1
• B Latch & Strike screws x4
• C Strike x1
• D Mounting Screw x2
• E Rear Knob x1
• F Front Knob x1

Knob Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the door and check dimensions

   If your door already has the necessary holes, proceed. Otherwise, use the mounting template to drill new holes. Verify backset (2-3/8" or 2-3/4"/60 or 70mm), hole diameter (2-1/8"/54mm), latch hole diameter (1"/25mm), and door thickness (1-3/8" to 2"/35mm to 50mm).

2. Latch backset adjustment

   Backset is the distance from the door edge to the center of the hole. Adjust the latch if your door's backset is 2-3/4" (70mm). No adjustment is needed for a 2-3/8" (60mm) backset.

3. Install latch and strike

   IMPORTANT: The latch should be aligned with the chiseled properly. Ensure the hole in the door frame has a minimum depth of 1" (25mm).

4. Install front and rear knob

   The base of the spindle must be rotated to align with the hole. Insert the knobs and secure them.

5. Test the knob

   Keep the door open and test the front and rear levers to ensure they operate smoothly.
