Getting Started: Fuel Cell
Required Consumables:
- PPNXi Specialist Nailer
- Hardened Twist Nails: diameter 3.4 mm, length 35mm
- Series-i Fuel Cell (1250 shots at -5°C)
Steps:
- Check fuel is in date (see base of fuel cell).
- Insert the fuel cell into the tool. It will click into place.
Getting Started: Battery
Battery Capacity: Up to 13000 shots per charge.
Charging Times:
- 15 minutes: Up to 2,500 shots
- 60 minutes: Up to 10,000 shots
- 90 minutes: Up to 13,000 shots
Battery Indicator: The battery has indicator lights showing charge level: 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%.
Resting Position: If you need to rest or place the tool down, please place it in the designated resting position (tool angled slightly upwards, nose resting on a stable surface).
Tool Adjustments
Operating Temperature Range: -15°C to +49°C.
Capacity: Up to 1,000 fixings per hour, 3,300 per day.
Rotating Belt Hook: The belt hook can be rotated for convenience.
Depth of Drive Adjustment:
Use the adjustment dial to control the depth of the nail:
- Turn dial towards [depth-increase] to drive nails deeper.
- Turn dial towards [depth-decrease] to drive nails shallower.
Actuating the Tool
Ensure the tool is at the correct angle to the work surface (between 0° and 30° from perpendicular).
Steps:
- Place the tool nose against the work surface.
- Press the trigger.
- The tool will fire a nail ("Bang!").
Tool Maintenance: Filter
Required: Cleaning Kit (Model 013690).
Steps:
- Disassemble the tool as shown in the diagrams (refer to steps 1-12).
- Clean the filter using the cleaning kit.
- Reassemble the tool.
Tool Maintenance: Fan
Required: Cleaning Kit (Model 013690) and O-ring (Model 013231).
Steps:
- Disassemble the tool as shown in the diagrams (refer to steps 13-23).
- Clean the fan components using the cleaning kit.
- Replace the O-ring if necessary.
- Reassemble the tool.
Maintenance Light Reset
The tool will flash green/red once it has fired 50,000 shots, indicating maintenance is due.
To reset the maintenance light:
- Ensure maintenance has been carried out on the tool.
- Hold the start button for more than 10 seconds.
Trouble Shooting
Issue: How to Clear a Nail Jam
Follow the steps outlined in the 'Getting Started' section (Page 4) and 'Tool Maintenance' section (Pages 8-9) for disassembly and clearing jams.
Issue: Trigger Works However Fan Not Working and No Nail Comes Out
Check fuel cell insertion (Page 4), battery charge (Page 5), and ensure the tool is not jammed (refer to maintenance pages 8-9).
Issue: Trigger & Fan Working However No Nail Comes Out
Verify nail loading (Page 4), fuel cell status (Page 4), and check for obstructions (Pages 8-9).
Issue: Fan Works and Explosion Happens However No Nail
This indicates a potential issue with nail feeding or seating. Check the nail magazine (Page 4), fan assembly (Pages 8-9), and depth of drive adjustment (Page 6).
