Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 for UL60947-4-2
ATS480Y Combination Short Circuit Current Ratings (SCCR)
The combinations in the table below have been tested per UL60947-4-2. These ratings allow proper coordination of short circuit protection. All the ratings of the product have a 100kA interrupt rating at the output.
The opening of the branch circuit protective device may be an indication that a fault current has been interrupted. Altivar Soft Starters are provided with integral overload monitoring and can provide motor overload protection at 100% of the full load motor current. The motor thermal current [Motor Nom Current] IN must be set to the rated current indicated on the motor nameplate.

(a) For devices subjected to standard fault short circuit test only, the short circuit current and voltage rating shall be marked, "Suitable For Use On A Circuit Capable Of Delivering Not More Than __X__ rms Symmetrical Amperes, __Y__ Volts Maximum". For devices subjected to high fault short circuit tests, the marking shall also include the following: · "When protected by __Z__ Class Fuses"
(b) For all models, rating indicates standard use conditions. For heavy duty condition, the catalogue must be referred to.
(c) Fused combination will require a UL Listed 98 or 508 Motor Circuit Switch or a UL 489 Molded Case switch.
(d) Contactor may be LC1 or LC2 type. The next larger contactor may be substituted for the one shown. Contactors may be used in conjunction with circuit breaker protection and ATS480 soft starter for line and load isolation applications.
(e) Short circuit ratings (kA) are based on the fuse class and ratings shown for the ATS480.
