6. Add Camera to App
6.1 Preparations for Connection
- Insert a Micro SD card to save video clips, or utilize the 7-day free cloud service. Video recording is not possible without either a Micro SD card or cloud service.
- The camera supports only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks; 5GHz is not supported.
- When connecting to the network, position the camera close to your router (recommended within 10-15 feet / 3-4.5 meters).
6.2 Connect Camera to App
- Tap 'Add Device' on the app's main screen.
- Select 'Battery Camera' from the device list.
- Reset the camera by holding the RESET button for 4-5 seconds until the indicator light flashes red. Then, tap 'Next'.
- Turn on the camera by holding its power button. Ensure the device is awake if it was asleep.
- Input your Wi-Fi password for a 2.4GHz network.
- Prepare for scanning: Remove any protective film from the camera lens. Position your phone 5-8 inches (15-25 cm) from the camera lens to display a QR code for the camera to scan.
- Scan QR Code: Ensure the camera's indicator light is flashing slowly in red. Let the device scan the QR code displayed on your phone. A tone will confirm a successful scan.
- Connect Network: Confirm the device is powered on, connected to the router, and on the same network as your phone. The app will then proceed through device search, cloud registration, and initialization.
- Perform Network Diagnosis: The app may check Wi-Fi signal strength to ensure optimal placement.

7. Camera Installation
- Fix the mounting bracket to your desired location using the supplied screws.
- Fasten the camera onto the metal mount and secure it.
- Adjust the camera's viewing angle as needed. A 360° adjustment capability is indicated.
8. Important Notes
To minimize false alarms, please observe the following:
- Avoid installing the camera facing strong lights, mirrors, windows, or swimming pools.
- Do not place the camera too close to areas with busy traffic.
- Keep the camera away from outlets, air conditioner vents, humidifier outlets, and projector heat vents.
- Position the camera at least 1 meter away from wireless devices like microwave ovens and Wi-Fi routers to prevent interference.
9. Monitoring Area
- It is not recommended to install the camera vertically towards moving objects, as this may lead to missed motion events or delays.
- It is suggested to angle the PIR sensor to detect objects with an angle greater than 10 degrees relative to the sensor.
- The camera's motion sensor is more sensitive to side-to-side movement within its field of view compared to movement directly towards or away from the camera.
Visual Description: Diagrams illustrate optimal and suboptimal camera placement for motion detection, showing detection zones and angles.

12. PIR Motion Detection
12.1 Motion Detection Alarm Setting
Motion detection sensitivity can be adjusted on a scale from 1 to 10. Higher sensitivity detects motion at a greater distance but may consume more battery.
- Sensitivity Levels:
- LOW: 1-3 (Detecting Distance: 13-16ft / 4-5 meters)
- MID: 4-7 (Detecting Distance: 16-23ft / 5-8 meters)
- HIGH: 8-10 (Detecting Distance: 23-42ft / 8-13 meters)
Visual Description: App screens show how to navigate to 'Settings' > 'Alarm Management' to adjust detection sensitivity and set alarm parameters.
12.2 Alarm Notification
This camera operates on an event-recording basis, triggered by motion detection. System reactions include:
- Alarm notifications with sounds delivered via the App.
- Pictures and videos are automatically stored on the Micro SD card or in the Cloud.
12.3 Record/Playback/Delete
- Navigate to the 'MESSAGES' page and select 'Alarm Messages' to view all recorded events.
- Use the provided buttons to play back or delete recordings.
- Screenshots and manually recorded videos from live, history, or cloud pages are saved in 'Pictures & Videos'. These can be saved to your phone's Album or shared directly.
Visual Description: App screens illustrate accessing 'Alarm Messages', playing back videos, and previewing snapshots.
13. Power Saving Settings
13.1 Alarm Interval
This feature prevents repeated alarms for the same event. You can set an interval (e.g., 5 minutes) during which no new alarm notifications will be sent, even if motion continues.
Note: This function is disabled by default and can be configured as needed.
13.2 Recording Time
You can select a recording length (e.g., 20 seconds). When the camera detects motion, it will record for the specified duration, viewable in the cloud playback history.
13.3 Alarm Plan
Set a weekly or daily alarm schedule. The camera will only trigger and record video during the specified working hours (e.g., 0:00 to 1:00). Up to 4 time periods can be set.
Visual Description: App screens show settings for 'Alarm Management', 'Custom Mode' with recording time and alarm interval options, and 'Set the Time Period' for alarm scheduling.
14. Battery Management
- The camera features a built-in high-capacity battery, typically lasting 2-3 months with average usage (e.g., 15 wake-ups and 10 minutes of video playback per day).
- Note: Battery life is dependent on usage frequency. Lowering 'Motion Detection' sensitivity or occasional disabling is recommended to extend battery life.
- The app will notify you when the battery level drops below 20%.
- Charge the camera using a DC 5V 2A charger; full charging takes approximately 6-8 hours.
15. Solar Panel
Step 1: Placement
Find a location that receives sunlight for most of the day. Adjust the solar panel's angle to maximize sun exposure. The ideal angle is approximately your local latitude ± 5°.
The ZUMIMALL solar panel requires a few hours of direct sunlight to convert solar energy into electricity. Conversion efficiency is influenced by weather, seasons, and geographic location.
Visual Description: A diagram illustrates the sun's rays hitting solar panels positioned in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, showing the concept of optimal angling based on latitude.
Step 2: Mount the Bracket
Attach the mounting bracket using the provided template and screws.
Step 3: Secure the Solar Panel
Slot the solar panel into the bracket and ensure it is securely fastened.
Step 4: Adjust Angle
Loosen the adjusting control on the bracket, set the solar panel's angle for direct sunlight, and then retighten the control.
Step 5: Connect to Camera
Connect the solar panel to the ZUMIMALL Camera using the micro USB cable.
Important Notes:
- Ensure the solar panel is not obstructed. Even partial blockage significantly reduces energy harvesting efficiency.
- Avoid installing the solar panel completely horizontally, as it can accumulate dust and debris. Install it angularly for better sunlight reception.
- Regularly wipe the solar panel to remove dust or debris.
16. Multi Device Management
16.1 Multi Camera Management
The ZUMIMALL app allows you to manage multiple cameras simultaneously. You can view up to four cameras live at the same time.
Visual Description: App screens show the interface for managing multiple cameras, including a '+' icon to add more devices and a view displaying multiple live camera feeds.
16.2 Multi-User Sharing
Note: An app account cannot be logged into on multiple devices concurrently, nor can one camera be connected to multiple app accounts. However, camera sharing between users is supported.
Share Steps:
- User B downloads the ZUMIMALL App and creates a new account.
- User A clicks 'Add' in their app.
- User A scans User B's QR Code or inputs User B's account ID.
- User B accepts the share and refreshes the device page.
Visual Description: A series of app screens illustrate the device sharing process: selecting 'Device Share', choosing sharing methods (QR code or account entry), entering account details, setting permissions, and accepting a share request.
