3.2 Maintenance and Self-Inspection
Bicycle Maintenance and Self-Inspection:
- The electric bicycle has been adjusted correctly before leaving the factory. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer or supplier.
- Frequently check tire pressure to keep it within normal limits.
- Key parts such as the handlebar, headset, saddle, seatpost, front and rear axles, center axles, pedals, chains, and front/rear tires should be inspected and adjusted frequently to ensure transmission parts remain flexible and function without anomalies. Loose nuts and bolts should be tightened promptly.
- It is recommended to lubricate parts (e.g., front axle bearings, center axle bearings, rear axle bearings, forks, pedal bearings, etc.) with calcium-based grease (#3) every six months during use. Every two months, add 30# oil to the chain, shift lever cables, kickstand, and other parts.
- If wear parts like brake pads, chains, or tires are found to be damaged, seek a local repair point for replacement, ensuring parts are of the same type and specification.
Motor Maintenance:
- Do not open the motor base or end cover after sealing.
- Keep the motor clean. Prevent foreign matter, corrosive liquids, or gas from entering the motor. The motor housing should not be hit or heated to avoid damage.
- The motor has an IPX5 waterproof rating. Do not wash the motor with a water gun or submerge it in water. If the water level reaches the motor hub center, it can cause a short circuit in the bicycle's internal wiring, damaging electrical components.
Battery Maintenance:
- Lithium batteries have high capacity, long life, and are lightweight. Their lifespan is closely related to usage. Do not wait until the battery is low before charging, and do not store it for extended periods. It is important to get into the habit of charging the battery regularly.
- The initial charge should be complete. It is recommended to charge for 6 to 8 hours, not more than 12 hours.
- If the battery is not used for a long period, charge it for more than two hours per month. Storing the battery in a low-charge state is strictly prohibited. If the battery voltage drops too low, it can cause irreversible damage and render the battery unusable.
Danger: Do not disassemble old batteries without authorization. They must be recycled according to local government guidelines or our specialized maintenance points.
Warning: The battery should not be placed near open flames or high-temperature heat sources, thrown into fire, or exposed to the sun on hot days.
