Cycling Safety: Respect National and Local Traffic Rules and Pay Attention to Cycling Safety
- It is strictly prohibited for minors under 16 years of age to ride electric bicycles on roads. Do not lend it to people who cannot operate an electric bicycle safely to avoid danger.
- Ride on non-motorized lanes and do not exceed the maximum speed limit stipulated by local regulations.
- The electric bicycle must transport people or objects in accordance with the law.
- Always wear an appropriate safety helmet and fasten the helmet strap when riding.
- During rides in rain or snow, the braking distance will be longer, so you should reduce speed. In case of severe weather, such as heavy rain, avoid traveling as much as possible.
- Carefully observe traffic rules and do not ride under the influence of alcohol, nor ride with only one hand or with both hands off the handlebars.
- Try to wear bright, non-restrictive clothing with open cuffs that allow you to move freely while riding. Wear flat shoes or sports shoes whenever possible.
Precautions During the Ride
- For your safety and that of others, conscientiously observe traffic rules.
- You must wear a safety helmet before pedaling, and take other relevant safety precautions.
- When turning on the bicycle for the first time, accelerate slowly to avoid accelerating too quickly and losing control.
- Braking distances must be increased appropriately in case of rain or snow. While riding, concentrate and ride carefully and slowly to avoid skidding and falls.
- Before parking, reduce your speed for the next ride.
Pre-ride Check
- Turn on the power and check if the display indicator lights are normal and if the electric power is sufficient.
- Check the illumination of the front and rear headlights and the angle of the headlights are in good condition.
- Verify that the electric bicycle's horn is functioning correctly.
- Check that the handlebar and seatpost are adjusted correctly and that the fixing screws (or quick-releases) are tightened.
- Check the brakes. Brake activation should ensure the brake is reliable, restore flexibility, and guarantee that the rear light illuminates during braking.
- Check tire pressure, as well as for cracks, abnormal wear, and the presence of sharp objects like nails, stones, or glass.
- Check that the wheel screws are locked. Pedal reflectors should not be lost, broken, or dirty.
Precautions for Pushing and Stopping
- Turn off the power switch when pushing to avoid accidents caused by involuntary throttle rotation.
- When pushing uphill or carrying heavy objects, you can activate the assist mode to help push.
- When parking, place the kickstand on a flat surface and turn off the power.
- To keep your bicycle in the best condition, regular maintenance and cleaning are necessary.
3.2 Bicycle Maintenance and Self-Inspection
- The electric assisted bicycle was perfectly adjusted before leaving the factory. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer or supplier.
- Frequently check tire pressure to maintain it within normal limits.
- Key components such as the handlebar, folding column tube, seat, seat tube, front and rear axles, central axles, cranks, and front and rear tires should be inspected and adjusted frequently to ensure transmission parts are flexible and show no anomalies. Loose nuts and bolts should be tightened promptly.
- It is recommended to lubricate parts (e.g., front axle bearings, central axle bearings, rear axle bearings, forks, pedal bearings, etc.) every six months with calcium-based grease (lubricating paste). Every two months, add 30# oil to the chain, gear shift cable, foot support, and other parts.
- If wear parts are found to be damaged, such as brake pads, chains, tires, etc., you can seek a local repair point to replace them, but be careful to replace them with parts of the same type and specification.
Motor Maintenance
- Do not open the motor base and end cover after sealing treatment.
- The motor must be kept clean. No foreign matter, corrosive liquid, or gas should enter the motor. The motor casing should not be hit or cooked to avoid motor damage.
- The motor's waterproof rating is IPX5. Do not wash the motor with a water gun or allow it to be submerged in water. If the water level reaches the center of the motor hub, it may cause a short circuit in the internal wiring of the entire vehicle and damage the electrical components.
Battery Maintenance
- Lithium batteries have high capacity, long life, and are lightweight. Their lifespan is closely related to how they are used. Do not wait until the power is insufficient to charge them, and do not store them for extended periods. It is important to develop a habit of diligent charging.
- The initial charge must be full. It is recommended to charge for 6 to 8 hours each time, but no more than 12 hours.
- When not in use for a long period, the lithium battery needs to be charged for more than two hours per month. Storing the battery in a low-power state is strictly prohibited. If the battery voltage reaches a deficit state, it will cause significant damage to the battery and it cannot be recovered, resulting in battery damage.
Danger: Do not disassemble old batteries without authorization; they must be recycled according to local government designated locations or our special maintenance points.
Warning: The battery should not be placed near open flames or high-temperature heat sources, should not be thrown into fire, and should not be exposed to the sun in hot weather.
