3. Product Overview
The Tuya PTZ Wifi Camera features a high-definition lens, pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) functionality, and wireless connectivity. It is suitable for indoor or outdoor surveillance.
Physical Description:
The camera typically has a cylindrical or dome-shaped body. On the front, it features a prominent lens. Below or around the lens, there may be infrared LEDs for night vision and a status indicator light. The base of the camera usually houses the PTZ mechanism, allowing it to rotate horizontally (pan) and vertically (tilt). On the rear or underside, there are typically ports for power and sometimes a microSD card slot for local storage. The mounting bracket attaches to the base or rear, allowing for various installation positions.

4. Installation
4.1 Mounting the Camera
Choose a suitable location with a clear view of the area you wish to monitor and within Wi-Fi range.
Wall Mounting:
- Attach the mounting bracket to the camera.
- Mark the screw positions on the wall using the bracket as a template.
- Drill holes and insert wall anchors if necessary.
- Secure the bracket to the wall with the provided screws.
- Attach the camera to the bracket and adjust the angle.
Ceiling Mounting:
- Follow similar steps as wall mounting, ensuring the bracket is securely fastened to the ceiling.
- The camera may need to be oriented correctly for ceiling installation.
4.2 Power Connection
Connect the power adapter to the camera's power port and plug it into a wall outlet. The camera will power on, and an indicator light may illuminate.
5. Network Connection & App Setup
To use the camera, you need to connect it to your Wi-Fi network and pair it with the Tuya Smart app.
5.1 Downloading the Tuya Smart App
Download the "Tuya Smart" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. ?
5.2 Adding the Camera to the App
- Open the Tuya Smart app and create or log in to your account.
- Tap the '+' icon (Add Device) typically found in the top right corner.
- Select "Camera & Sensor" and then choose "Smart Camera (Wi-Fi)".
- Ensure your camera is powered on and in pairing mode (usually indicated by a flashing light or audible prompt). If not, follow on-screen instructions to reset the camera (often by pressing a reset button for several seconds). ⚙️
- Enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, as most smart cameras do not support 5GHz.
- The app will generate a QR code. Hold your phone screen displaying the QR code in front of the camera lens at a distance of 15-30 cm.
- The camera will scan the QR code and emit a sound or prompt when successful.
- Wait for the camera to connect to your Wi-Fi network. The app will confirm successful pairing.
6. Using the Tuya Smart App
Once paired, you can control and monitor your camera through the app.
6.1 Live View
Tap on the camera in your device list to access the live video feed. ▶️
6.2 PTZ Control
On the live view screen, you will find directional arrows or a joystick control to pan (left/right) and tilt (up/down) the camera. ⬆️ ⬇️ ⬅️ ➡️
6.3 Motion Detection & Alerts
Configure motion detection sensitivity and zones within the app settings. When motion is detected, you will receive push notifications on your smartphone. ?
6.4 Recording & Playback
You can manually record video clips or set up continuous recording to a MicroSD card or cloud storage. Access recorded footage via the playback feature in the app. ?
6.5 Two-Way Audio
Use the microphone and speaker icons on the live view screen to communicate with people or pets near the camera. ?️
6.6 Settings
Access camera settings to adjust video quality, night vision mode, motion detection, privacy zones, and more. ⚙️
7. Troubleshooting
- Camera Offline: Check Wi-Fi connection, router status, and power supply. Ensure the camera is within Wi-Fi range.
- Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi: Verify Wi-Fi password, ensure 2.4GHz network is used, and try moving the camera closer to the router during setup.
- No Motion Detection Alerts: Ensure motion detection is enabled in the app settings and sensitivity is set appropriately.
- Poor Video Quality: Check internet connection speed and camera's Wi-Fi signal strength. Adjust resolution settings in the app.
8. Safety & Compliance
This device complies with relevant regulations. Do not expose the camera to extreme temperatures or moisture unless it is rated for outdoor use. Ensure proper ventilation.
