DOD Chthonic Fuzz
Model: [PRT]
Product Overview
The DOD Chthonic Fuzz is a guitar effects pedal designed to deliver a unique fuzz tone. This document provides details on its controls, placement, specifications, and safety guidelines.
Image description: A blue guitar pedal with intricate artwork featuring an octopus-like creature. It has three control knobs labeled 'FUZZ', 'LUSTRE', and 'OUTPUT', a footswitch, and various input/output jacks.
Controls and Features
The DOD Chthonic Fuzz features the following controls and connections:
- 1. Fuzz Control: Adjusts the intensity of the fuzz effect. Turn left for less fuzz, right for more.
- 2. Output Control: Sets the overall output level of the pedal.
- 3. Lustre Control: Allows the musician to reduce high frequencies after the main distortion stages of the pedal, shaping the tone's brightness.
- 4. Input Jack: Connect your instrument or the output of another effects pedal here.
- 5. Output Jack: Connect to your amplifier's input or other effects.
- 6. Power LED Indicator: Lights up when the pedal is powered on.
- 7. Footswitch: Press to engage or bypass the effect.
- 8. Power Jack: Connect a 9VDC PS0913BDC power supply (optional) to this jack.
Placement and Configuration
Placement: The Chthonic Fuzz is designed to be placed early in your signal chain to interact effectively with guitar pickups and volume controls. For optimal results, slightly rolling back your guitar's volume knob is recommended. Setting the guitar's volume to 7 or 8 can achieve a good overdrive, while setting it to 5 will produce clean, bright tones. The pedal is sensitive to cable capacitance; use the shortest possible input cable. Avoid placing buffer pedals before the Chthonic, as they can alter its tone.
Configuration: Begin with all controls set to the 12 o'clock position (center). Adjust to your preference. If the sound is too extreme, reduce the Fuzz and Lustre controls. Settings will vary based on your instrument's output, amplifier, and playing style.

Power Cord Wiring:
WARNING: This appliance must be connected to a mains socket with a protective earth connection.
The power cord conductors are colored as follows:
- GREEN AND YELLOW – EARTH
- BLUE – NEUTRAL
- BROWN – LIVE
If conductor colors do not match the plug's terminal markings, proceed as follows:
- GREEN/YELLOW conductor: Connect to the terminal marked 'E', the earth symbol (?), or colored GREEN or GREEN/YELLOW.
- BLUE conductor: Connect to the terminal marked 'N' or colored BLACK.
- BROWN conductor: Connect to the terminal marked 'L' or colored RED.
Different line cords or fixture plugs may be required depending on the installation's power source. Consult qualified service personnel for alterations.
