Product Overview
This document provides installation instructions and technical specifications for the Hilti HST2-R V3 and HST2-HCR V3 anchor bolts. It covers drilling, cleaning, installation, and tightening procedures, along with load data and accessory compatibility.
1. Dimensions and Formulas
The following dimensions are critical for proper installation:
- L: Length of the anchor bolt.
- df: Flange diameter of the anchor bolt.
- hnom: Nominal embedment depth.
- hΔ: Additional embedment depth required for certain applications or drill bit types.
- h1: Total required drilling depth, calculated as h1 = hΔ + hnom.
- hmin: Minimum embedment depth required for the anchor's performance.
- smin: Minimum spacing between anchors.
- cmin: Minimum edge distance.
Visual representation: A diagram shows an anchor bolt with dimensions L, df, hnom, and hΔ. An inset shows the anchor in a base material with dimensions hmin, smin, and cmin, along with warning symbols [!] indicating safety precautions.
Drill Bit Depths (hΔ):
Visual representation: Three drill bits are shown with corresponding required additional embedment depths (hΔ):
- Drill bit for 5mm hΔ.
- Drill bit for 20mm hΔ.
- Drill bit for 10mm hΔ.
2. Drilling and Cleaning
2a. Drilling Procedure
Drill a hole with a diameter (d0) of 10mm to the required depth (h1). The drill should be operated at 90° to the surface. Ensure the drilling direction is straight.
Visual representation: A diagram shows a drill bit entering a concrete surface at a 90° angle, with arrows indicating rotation and forward thrust. Text indicates d0 = 10mm and h1. Another diagram shows the anchor being inserted, with the condition hmin - h1 ≥ 27 mm.
2b. Drilling Procedure (Alternative/Additional)
Drill a hole with a diameter (d0) of 10mm to the required depth (h1). The drill should be operated at 90° to the surface. Ensure the drilling direction is straight. Perform approximately 3x cleaning cycles.
Visual representation: Similar to 2a, showing drilling at 90° with d0 = 10mm and h1. Arrows indicate rotation and thrust. A "3x" symbol is shown, suggesting repeated action. Another diagram shows the anchor insertion with the condition hmin - h1 ≥ 27 mm.
2c. Hole Cleaning
Thoroughly clean the drilled hole using a cleaning brush and compressed air (6 bar / 90 psi). This is crucial for optimal anchor performance.
Visual representation: A diagram shows a cleaning brush being inserted into the hole, followed by compressed air being blown into the hole. The condition hmin - h1 ≥ 27 mm is shown again.
3. Anchor Installation
3a. Inserting the Anchor
Insert the anchor bolt into the cleaned hole. Use a hammer to gently tap the anchor until the flange is flush with the base material surface.
Visual representation: A diagram shows an anchor bolt being inserted into a hole, with a hammer being used to tap the anchor head.
3b. Setting the Anchor (HS-SC)
For anchors equipped with Hammer Setting Control (HS-SC), the anchor is set by striking the head with a hammer until the setting mechanism is activated.
Visual representation: A diagram shows the HS-SC anchor being struck with a hammer, indicating the setting process.
4. Tightening
Tighten the nut on the anchor bolt using an appropriate wrench. Ensure the anchor is securely fastened.
Visual representation: A diagram shows a wrench being used to tighten the nut on the anchor bolt.
5. Torque and Accessories
5a. Installation Torque
The recommended installation torque (Tinst) for these anchors is 45 Nm. The embedment depth is 17mm.
Visual representation: A torque wrench is shown indicating 45 Nm, and the embedment depth is marked as 17mm.
5b. Compatible Accessories
The following accessories are compatible with the HST2-R V3 / HST2-HCR V3 anchors:
- SIW 4AT-22
- SI-AT-22
- SIW 6AT-22 (AT Module)
- SI-S 1/2"-17 L
Visual representation: Images of the listed accessories are shown.
