Installation Procedure
Step 1a: Drilling the Hole
Drill a hole into the concrete substrate using a drill bit. The required hole diameter (d₀) is 24 mm. The drilling depth (h₁) should be calculated as hnom + 8 mm. Ensure drilling is performed at a 90° angle to the surface. A correct drilling operation is indicated by a checkmark [✔️], while incorrect drilling is marked with a cross [❌].
Step 1b: Inserting the Anchor (using DD EC-1 / DD 30-W)
Insert the Hilti HST3 or HST3-R anchor into the prepared hole. The anchor length (h₁) is hnom + 10 mm, and the hole diameter (d₀) is 24 mm. Use a Hilti setting tool, such as the DD EC-1 or DD 30-W. After inserting the anchor, connect the tool to a compressed air source (6 bar / 90 psi) and operate the tool to expand the anchor within the hole. The visual shows the anchor being inserted and then the tool being activated with compressed air, causing expansion.
Step 1c: Inserting the Anchor (using TE-CD / TE-YD)
Alternatively, insert the anchor using a Hilti setting tool like the TE-CD or TE-YD, connected to a compressed air supply. The hole diameter (d₀) is 24 mm, and the anchor length (h₁) is hnom + 8 mm. The tool is operated to expand the anchor.
Step 2: Anchor Set in Concrete
Once the anchor is expanded, it is securely set within the concrete substrate. A washer and nut are then placed onto the anchor's threaded rod.
Step 3: Verification
Confirm that the anchor is correctly installed. A correct installation is typically indicated by a checkmark [✔️], while an incorrect installation is shown with a cross [❌]. This step likely verifies proper expansion and seating.
Step 4a: Applying Final Torque
Apply the specified installation torque (Tinst) to the nut. The required torque is 300 Nm. A dimension of 36 mm is indicated, likely related to the nut or washer placement.
Step 4b: Final Torque with SIW Washer System
For installations using the SIW 6AT-22 + SI-AT-22 washer system, apply the final installation torque (Tinst) of 300 Nm using a suitable power tool. A dimension of 36 mm is indicated.
