Hilti HST2-R V3 / HST2-HCR V3 Anchor Installation and Operation Instructions
Product Overview
This document provides technical specifications and operating instructions for Hilti HST2-R V3 and HST2-HCR V3 anchors. These anchors are designed for secure fastening in various construction applications.
Definitions and Key Parameters
The total required hole depth, denoted as h₁, is calculated by summing the drill bit depth (hΔ) and the nominal embedment depth (hnom):
h₁ = hΔ + hnom
The diagram illustrates the relationship between these depths. hΔ represents the depth achieved by the drill bit, with examples showing hΔ values of 5mm, 20mm, and 10mm for different drill bit types.
hnom is the nominal embedment depth, often determined by the anchor's design and application requirements. The term "Profis Engineering" is associated with determining or verifying these parameters.
Anchor Specifications and Installation Data
This section details the specifications for the Hilti HST2-R V3 / HST2-HCR V3 anchor, specifically for M8x70 size, with a load range of 5-20.
The table below provides critical installation values for maximum fixing time (tfix,max) and minimum fixing time (tfix,min) based on the anchor's length (L) and the drilled hole depth (hΔ).
hΔ | L (mm) | hnom (mm) | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
55 | 70 | 80 | 90 | 100 | 110 | ||
5mm | tfix,max: 20 | tfix,max: 30 | tfix,max: 40 | tfix,max: 50 | tfix,max: 60 | tfix,max: 38 | |
tfix,min: 15 | tfix,min: 25 | tfix,min: 35 | tfix,min: 45 | tfix,min: 55 | tfix,min: 43 | ||
20mm | tfix,max: 10 | tfix,max: 20 | tfix,max: 30 | tfix,max: 40 | tfix,max: 50 | tfix,max: 48 | |
tfix,min: 5 | tfix,min: 15 | tfix,min: 25 | tfix,min: 35 | tfix,min: 45 | tfix,min: 53 | ||
10mm | tfix,max: 10 | tfix,max: 20 | tfix,max: 30 | tfix,max: 40 | tfix,max: 58 | ||
tfix,min: 5 | tfix,min: 15 | tfix,min: 25 | tfix,min: 35 | tfix,min: 63 |
Note: The table provides fixing times for various anchor lengths (L) and hole depths (hΔ). The hnom column indicates the nominal embedment depth.
Installation Procedure
Follow these steps for proper installation of the Hilti HST2-R V3 / HST2-HCR V3 anchors:
Step 1: Drilling the Hole
Drill a hole with a diameter (d₀) of 8mm to the calculated depth (h₁). Ensure the drilling is performed at a 90° angle to the surface. A critical condition to observe is that the minimum clearance between the bottom of the hole and the surface (hmin) must be greater than or equal to 21mm (hmin - h₁ ≥ 21 mm).
Step 2: Hole Cleaning
Clean the drilled hole thoroughly. This can be done using compressed air (recommended pressure: 6 bar / 90 psi) or a suitable cleaning brush to remove all dust and debris.
Step 3: Anchor Insertion
Insert the anchor into the cleaned hole. Use a setting tool, such as the Hilti HS-SC, to drive the anchor into the hole until it is properly seated.
Step 4: Final Setting
Use a hammer to gently tap the anchor, ensuring it is fully seated and flush with the surface.
Step 5: Tightening
Apply a specific tightening torque (Tinst) of 20 Nm to the anchor using an appropriate tool. The required embedment depth is 13mm.
Compatible Components
The anchors are compatible with systems such as SIW 4AT-22, SI-AT-22 (AT Module), and SI-S 1/2"-13 L.
