This document provides installation instructions and technical data for Hilti HST2-R V3 and HST2-HCR V3 anchor bolts. These anchors are designed for reliable fastening in concrete.
The anchor's effective embedment depth (h₁) is determined by the sum of the drill hole depth (h_Δ) and the nominal embedment depth (h_nom): h₁ = h_Δ + h_nom

Key dimensions include a nominal diameter (d₁) of 14 mm. The anchor features a specific design for secure installation.
For precise engineering calculations, Hilti offers the Profis Engineering software, which utilizes the h_nom
parameter.
An optional version, HST2-R V3 / M12 × 115, is available with a fixture thickness range of 5-35 mm, specified by t_fix, min
and t_fix, max

Installation Steps
Step 1: Drilling
Drill a hole with a diameter (d₀) of 12 mm. Ensure the drilling is performed at a 90° angle to the surface.
The required drill hole depth (h₁) depends on the anchor model and application. A minimum embedment depth (h_min) relative to the hole depth (h₁) must be maintained: h_min - h₁ ≥ 32 mm
.
Note: The diagram shows recommended drill bit sizes of 8 mm, 20 mm, and 10 mm, which may correspond to different anchor sizes or specific applications not detailed here. The primary installation step specifies a 12 mm drill bit.
Step 2: Hole Cleaning
Thoroughly clean the drilled hole using a brush and compressed air. This is crucial for optimal performance.
Step 3: Anchor Insertion
Insert the anchor into the drilled hole. For certain Hilti hammer drilling systems (DD EC-1, DD 30-W, HDD 150-U), the anchor is driven into the hole using a hammer, requiring an air pressure of 6 bar / 90 psi.
Step 4: Anchor Setting
Use a hammer [hammer symbol] to strike the expansion pin of the anchor. This action expands the anchor within the concrete, securing it in place. The "HS-SC" designation refers to a specific type of anchor setting.
Step 5: Final Check
Visually inspect [eye symbol] the installed anchor to ensure it is properly set and flush with the surface.
Step 6: Torque Application
Apply a specified installation torque (T_inst) of 60 Nm. Ensure a minimum clearance of 19 mm is maintained around the anchor head.
