NUX DM-310 Digital Drum Kit User Manual

Safety Precautions

⚠️ WARNING: Instructions are intended to alert the user to the risk of death or serious injury in case of improper use of the unit.

CAUTION: Instructions are intended to alert the user to the risk of injury or material damage in case of improper use of the unit. Material damage refers to damage or other negative effects caused to the dwelling and all its appurtenances, as well as to domestic animals.

ALWAYS OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:

⚠️ Before using this unit, ensure you read the following instructions and the User Manual.

⚠️ Do not open (or modify in any way) the unit or its AC adapter.

⚠️ Do not attempt to repair the unit or replace its parts (unless this manual provides specific instructions to do so).

⚠️ Contact your nearest NUX dealer or service center.

⚠️ Never use or place the unit in locations that are:

  • Subject to extreme temperatures (e.g., direct sunlight in a closed vehicle, near a heating duct, on top of heat-generating equipment).
  • Slightly humid (e.g., bathrooms, toilets, wet floors).
  • Humid.
  • Exposed to rain.
  • Dusty.
  • Subject to high levels of vibration.

⚠️ This unit can be installed on a stand using a clamp. When installing the unit on a stand with a clamp, the stand must not be placed in an unstable or tilted position, but in a flat and stable position. Even if you are not using a stand, ensure the unit is placed in a stable position.

⚠️ Be sure to use only the AC adapter supplied with the unit. Also, ensure that the mains voltage of your system matches the input voltage specified on the AC adapter body. Other AC power adapters may use a different polarity or be designed for a different voltage, so their use could cause damage, malfunction, or electric shock.

⚠️ Do not twist or excessively bend the power cord and do not place heavy objects on it. This can damage the cord, causing component breakage and short circuits. Damaged cords are a fire and shock hazard!

⚠️ This apparatus, alone or in combination with an amplifier and headphones or speakers, may be capable of producing sound levels that could cause permanent hearing loss. Do not use the apparatus for a long period of time at a high volume or at an unbearable level. If you experience hearing loss or ringing in your ears, you must immediately stop using the apparatus and consult an audiologist.

⚠️ Do not allow objects (e.g., flammable materials, coins, pins) or liquids of any kind (water, soft drinks, etc.) to penetrate the unit.

⚠️ Immediately turn off the apparatus, remove the AC adapter from the power outlet, and request service from your nearest NUX dealer or service center.

  • If the AC adapter or power cord has been damaged.
  • If smoke or an unusual odor occurs.
  • If objects have fallen or liquid has been spilled on the unit.
  • If the unit has been exposed to rain (or has become wet).
  • If the unit does not seem to function normally or shows a marked change in performance.

⚠️ In households with small children, an adult must ensure supervision until the child is able to follow all essential rules for safe operation of the unit.

⚠️ Protect the apparatus from strong impacts. (Do not drop it!)

⚠️ Do not force the unit's power cord to share an outlet with an unreasonable number of other devices. Pay particular attention when using extension cords: the total power used by all devices connected to the extension cord outlet must never exceed the rated power (watt/ampere) of the extension cord. Overloads can cause overheating and melting of the cord's insulation.

⚠️ If using the apparatus in a foreign country, consult your nearest NUX dealer or service center.

⚠️ The unit and AC adapter should be placed so that their position does not interfere with proper ventilation.

⚠️ When connecting or disconnecting the unit or a power outlet, always grasp only the plug or the body of the AC adapter.

⚠️ Dust accumulation between the AC adapter and the power outlet can cause poor insulation and lead to fire. Periodically clean the dust with a dry cloth. Also, unplug the plug from the power outlet whenever the unit remains unused for an extended period.

⚠️ Try to prevent cables from getting tangled. Furthermore, all cables should be positioned so that they are out of reach of children.

⚠️ Never step on the unit or place heavy objects on it.

⚠️ Never handle the AC adapter body or its plugs with wet hands when connecting or disconnecting the plug from a power outlet or from this unit.

⚠️ If you need to move the instrument, observe the precautions listed below. Ensure you have a firm grip; to protect yourself from injury and the instrument from damage.

⚠️ Check that the clamp fixing the unit to the stand has not loosened. Secure them again securely each time you notice a loosening.

⚠️ Disconnect the power cord.

⚠️ Disconnect all cables from external devices.

⚠️ Before cleaning the unit, turn off the apparatus and disconnect the AC adapter from the power outlet.

⚠️ When you suspect the possibility of lightning in your area, disconnect the AC adapter from the power outlet.

⚠️ If safety screws are removed, be sure to store them in a safe place out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
