General Precautions:
- Read all instructions before use.
- Do not open or modify the unit or its AC adapter.
- Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself; contact NUX service.
- Avoid extreme temperatures, humidity, rain, dust, and vibrations.
- Ensure the unit is placed on a stable, flat surface or securely mounted.
- Use only the provided AC adapter and ensure it matches your power supply voltage.
- Protect the power cord from damage; do not twist, bend, or place heavy objects on it. Damaged cords pose fire and shock hazards.
- Avoid prolonged use at high volumes to prevent hearing loss. If you experience ringing in your ears, discontinue use and consult an audiologist.
- Do not insert foreign objects or liquids into the unit.
- In case of smoke, unusual odor, damage, liquid spill, exposure to rain, or malfunction, immediately unplug the unit and contact NUX service.
- Adult supervision is required for children.
- Protect the unit from strong impacts.
- Do not overload electrical outlets or extension cords.
- Ensure proper ventilation for the unit and AC adapter.
- Always grasp the plug or adapter body when connecting/disconnecting.
- Periodically clean dust from power outlets. Unplug the unit when not in use for extended periods.
- Keep cables out of reach of children.
- Do not climb on the unit or place heavy objects on it.
- Do not handle the AC adapter with wet hands.
- When moving the unit, ensure a firm grip for safety.
- Regularly check and tighten mounting clamps.
- Unplug the power cord and all external cables before cleaning.

This section guides you through the assembly of the NUX DM-110 Digital Drum Kit.

Assembly Steps:
- Assemble the frames: Connect the left frame (1) and right frame (2) to the main frame (4) using frame joints (12). Attach crossbar frames (3) using frame joints (12) and medium joints (10).
- Install the Hi-Hat pedal (20) and Kick pedal (21) onto the frame.
- Install the mounting arms: Attach the snare mounting arm (5), Hi-Hat cymbal mounting arm (6), crash cymbal mounting arm (7), and ride cymbal mounting arm (8) to the frame using small joints (9) and large joints (11). Use the module joint (13) to attach the module.
- Install the drum pads: Mount the snare drum (19), toms (18), and cymbals (17) onto their respective mounting arms.
- Connect the drum module (16) using the module joint (13).
Connections
Pad and Pedal Connections:
- Connect drum pad cables to the corresponding trigger inputs on the DM-110 module. Ensure the connector is fully inserted and rotate the knobs to secure it.
- Cables are labeled to indicate which pad to connect. Connect the cable to the output jack of each pad.
- Connect the Hi-hat control pedal and the Kick pedal to their respective inputs.
Note: To prevent malfunctions or damage, always lower the volume and turn off all connected units before making any connections.
Module Connections:
- Trigger Inputs: Connect drum pads and pedals here.
- Output Jack (mono): Connect to amplifier or audio interface.
- Headphone Output: Connect headphones for practice.
- AUX Input: Connect external audio sources.
- Bluetooth Adapter NBT-1 Input: Connect the NBT-1 adapter for wireless audio.
- USB-B: Connect to a computer for MIDI or audio.
- DC-9V Power Input: Connect the provided power adapter.
System Diagram: The DM-110 module connects to a power adapter, computer (via USB), an external audio device (NBT-1), active speakers, and headphones. Trigger inputs are used for drum pads and pedals.
Operation
Powering On/Off:
- Before powering on, set the output volume of any connected audio devices (speakers, amplifier) to the minimum level.
- Turn on the DM-110 module using the power button/switch.
- Adjust the volume to your preferred level by playing the drum pads and cymbals or by increasing the output volume of the connected speakers.
Note: A slight noise from the speakers upon initial power-on is normal.
Powering Off:
- Set the output volume of connected audio devices to the minimum level.
- Turn off any connected speakers or amplifiers.
- Turn off the DM-110 module.
Resetting the Unit:
To reset the DM-110 to factory default settings, press and hold the Function Button (2) for approximately 5 seconds. The display will show "RST". Release the button to initiate the reset.
Playing Techniques
The DM-110 allows for various playing techniques to produce different sounds:
- Snare: Strike the head for a main snare sound, or strike the rim for a rimshot sound.
- Tom: Strike the head of the tom pad.
- Kick Drum: Strike the pad with the bass drum beater.
- Crash/Ride Cymbal: Strike the bow of the cymbal for a sustained sound, or strike the edge for a brighter, shorter sound.
- Hi-Hat: The Hi-hat sound varies depending on the pedal's position.
- Open Hi-Hat: Strike the Hi-hat cymbal while the pedal is not pressed.
- Closed Hi-Hat: Strike the Hi-hat cymbal while the pedal is pressed down.
- Cymbal Choke: To mute a cymbal sound immediately after striking it, strike the edge of the cymbal and then quickly grasp it with your hand. This technique provides realistic sound control.
