Safety Precautions
WARNING: READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE DEVICE
- Only use the supplied power source and cord. If you are unsure of the power specifications in your area, contact your dealer or local electricity provider.
- Do not break off the grounding terminal from the power cord.
- Do not attempt to replace the fuse with one of a different rating.
- Do not attempt to repair the device yourself, as removing covers may expose you to the risk of electric shock and other hazards. Allow qualified specialists to perform repairs.
- Repairs are necessary if the device has been damaged in any way, such as if the plug or cord is damaged, liquid or foreign objects have entered the device, the device has been exposed to rain or moisture, it is not functioning normally, or it has been dropped.
- Do not remove safety features from a polarized plug or a grounding plug. A polarized plug has one blade wider than the other (for 110-volt power). A grounding plug has three prongs, including a grounding prong. The wider blade and the third prong are for safety. If the supplied plug does not fit your outlet, consult an electrician about replacing the outlet.
- Do not use the amplifier in damp or wet conditions.
- Unplug the power cord from the outlet if you are not using the device for a long period of time.
- Do not step on the cord and avoid kinks, especially near the plug and the device's socket.
- When the device or power plug is used to turn off the device, the device's power switch will remain in the ON position.
- WARNING:
- Always use only the AC adapter supplied with the device. Also, ensure that the line voltage matches the input voltage specified on the AC adapter. Other AC adapters may have different polarity or be rated for different voltages, which could lead to damage or electric shock.
- Do not twist or kink the power cord, and do not place heavy objects on it. This can lead to cord damage, element damage, or short circuits. Damaged cords pose a fire and electric shock hazard!
- This device, alone or in combination with an amplifier and headphones or speakers, can produce sound levels that may cause irreversible hearing loss. Do not operate for extended periods at high volume levels or at a level that causes discomfort. If you experience hearing loss or ringing in your ears, stop using the device immediately and consult a doctor.
- Do not allow foreign objects or liquids of any kind to enter the device.
- Immediately turn off the power, unplug the AC adapter from the outlet, and contact a Cherub service center if:
- The AC adapter or power cord is damaged; or
- Smoke or an unusual smell occurs; or
- Foreign objects or liquids have entered the device; or
- The device has been exposed to rain (or otherwise become wet); or
- The device is not functioning normally or its characteristics have changed significantly.
- In homes with small children, an adult should provide supervision until the child can follow all rules necessary for safe operation of the device.
- Do not connect the power cord to an outlet to which too many other devices are connected. Be especially careful when using extension cords; the total power consumed by all devices connected to the outlet should never exceed the extension cord's rated power (watts/amps). Overloads can cause the cable insulation to heat up and eventually melt.
- Before using the device in another country, consult with the seller or a local Cherub service center.
CAUTION:
- The device and AC adapter should be placed so that their position or placement does not obstruct their proper ventilation.
- Always grasp the power plug or the AC adapter body when connecting or disconnecting from the device or outlet.
- Dust accumulation between the AC adapter and the wall outlet can lead to poor insulation and cause a fire. Periodically wipe off dust with a dry cloth. Also, unplug the power cord from the outlet if the device is not in use for an extended period.
- Try not to tangle cords and cables. Also, keep all cords and cables out of reach of children.
- Never climb on the device or place heavy objects on it.
- Never touch the AC adapter body or its plug with wet hands when connecting or disconnecting the device from the outlet.
- If you need to move the instrument, take the following precautions. Be sure to hold the instrument firmly to protect yourself from injury and the instrument from damage.
- Ensure that the clamp securing the device to the stand is not loose. If you notice any looseness, secure them firmly.
- Unplug the power cord. Disconnect all cords from external devices.
- Before cleaning the device, turn off the power and unplug the AC adapter from the outlet.
- Unplug the AC adapter from the outlet during thunderstorms.
- If you unscrew the stopper screws, keep them in a safe place out of reach of children.

Playing Techniques
This section details various playing techniques for different drum pads and cymbals:
- Snare Drum:
- Open Shot: Normal hit in the center of the head.
- Cross Stick: Simultaneous hit on the rim and edge of the head.
- Kick Drum:
- Normal hit in the center of the head.
- Tom:
- Open Shot: Normal hit in the center of the head.
- Cymbals (Crash/Ride):
- Bow Shot: Normal hit in the center of the cymbal.
- Edge Shot: Hit the edge of the cymbal with the stick's shoulder.
- Hi-Hat (Hi-Hat):
- Open/Closed Hi-Hat: The timbre of the hi-hat gradually changes from open to closed depending on how much the pedal is pressed. The instrument also allows playing the sound of a closed hi-hat (when the pedal is fully pressed) and a "splash" sound ("foot splash").
- Bow Shot: Normal hit in the center of the hi-hat.
- Hi-Hat Control Pedal:
- Open Hi-Hat: Hit the hi-hat when the pedal is not pressed.
- Closed Hi-Hat: Hit the hi-hat when the pedal is pressed.
- Choking a Cymbal: When choking (pressing the edge of the cymbal with your hand after hitting it), the cymbal sound stops. Press the sensor on the cymbal edge with your hand as shown in the figure. If you press an area without a sensor, the sound will not stop.

Parameter Settings
Parameter | Value | Description |
---|---|---|
SENSITIVITY | 01-99 | Adjusts the sensitivity of the pad membrane to your playing style. High sensitivity provides a strong sound with a light hit. Low sensitivity results in a quiet sound with a strong hit. |
THRESHOLD | 0-16 | This setting allows you to set the trigger sensitivity. This way, you can prevent the membrane from sounding due to vibrations from other pads. Example: Sound B is reproduced, but sounds A and C are not. If you set a higher value, the unit may stop responding to light hits. Gradually increase the "threshold" value while hitting the pad. Check the settings. Repeat the process until you get the ideal value for your playing style. |
SCANTIME | 02-08 | Sets the time to detect the trigger signal. Since the trigger response time can vary depending on the characteristics of each membrane or acoustic trigger, hits of the same strength may produce sounds of different volumes. In this case, you can adjust the trigger scan time. |
MASKTIME | 16-64 | Prevents double triggering. During play, the stick may bounce off the membrane and hit it again. The Mask Time parameter helps avoid unwanted "double hits." After a hit, the membrane will not respond to subsequent hits within the set time. Adjust the Mask Time value during play. |
XTALK CANCEL | 00-80 | Adjusts crosstalk. This parameter helps prevent crosstalk, where hitting one membrane produces the sound of another. This can happen when membranes are mounted on the same stand. In some cases, you can avoid crosstalk by increasing the distance between the mounting plates. |
CURVE | 00-03 | Adjusts the relationship between the force of hitting the drum rim or cymbal and the volume of the sound. At a low parameter value, the sound will be quiet even with a strong hit. |
RIM GAIN | 01-99 | If the sound is poor when hitting the rim, you can improve it by adjusting the RIM ADJUST parameter. If the value is too low, the sound may not be reproduced. |
HEAD RIM ADJUST | 00-99 | If the sound is poor when hitting the rim, you can improve it by adjusting the RIM ADJUST parameter. If the value is too low, the sound may not be reproduced. |
When adjusting, the SENS and RIMG adjustments are most commonly used. If you need to adjust sensitivity for an open hit, adjust it using SENS. If you need to adjust rim sensitivity, adjust it via RIMG. Adjustments for bow and cymbal edge are also applicable to SENS and RIMG.
