Button Overview
The device features several buttons for operation:
- Unlock button: Used to remove the FiberTwist or a Blind Cover. Press and hold while twisting counterclockwise.
- Reset button (recessed): Used to reset the device. Press and hold until the System and Uplink LEDs start to blink.
- LED dim button: Used to dim the LEDs. Press and release repeatedly to adjust LED brightness.
Port Overview
The device includes the following ports and indicators:
- LAN ports: Labeled LAN1-10GE, LAN2, LAN3. Used for connecting network devices via RJ45 cables.
- Power port: For connecting the power adapter.
- ON/OFF button: Located near the power port. Press and release to switch the device ON or OFF.
LED Overview
The device has indicator LEDs for system status:
System LED:
- Green: Indicates the system is operating normally.
- Green (blinking): Indicates the device is booting or downloading firmware.
- Off: Indicates the device is powered off.
Uplink LED:
- Green: Indicates a stable link is established.
- Green (blinking): Indicates the link is being established.
- Off: Indicates no link is present.
Installation Guide
This guide provides instructions for installing the Genexis FiberTwist XGS2310B.
Box Contents:
- Genexis FiberTwist (active device)
- Power adapter
- Labels (self-adhesive)
Label Position:
The product label is positioned on the back of the active device.
Preparation:
Ensure a power socket is within reach of the installation location.
Important: Instructions must be followed precisely and uninterrupted to minimize the risk of damage to fiber optic connectors, which can lead to severe signal quality degradation.
Remove Blind Cover (if present):
- Press and hold the unlock button.
- Rotate the Blind Cover counterclockwise until it stops.
- Remove the Blind Cover from the baseplate (FTU) by pulling it towards yourself.
- Store the Blind Cover in a safe place.
Remove Dust Cap:
- Take the FiberTwist out of the box.
- The dust cap is attached to a red string located on the rear of the FiberTwist.
- Remove the dust cap by pulling the red string.
- Store the dust cap in a safe place.
Twist! Installation:
Install the FiberTwist onto the FTU:
- Place the FiberTwist onto the FTU as shown in the diagram.
- Rotate clockwise until it clicks into place.
- Ensure the FiberTwist is aligned squarely on the FTU, with each edge lining up directly with the FTU below.
Your FiberTwist is now installed!
Connecting the FiberTwist
- If required, connect your personal devices to the LAN ports using an RJ45 network cable. A CAT6 cable or better is recommended.
- Connect the supplied power adapter to the FiberTwist and plug the adapter into a power socket.
- Press the ON/OFF button to power on the device.
If uninstalling the FiberTwist in the future, immediately replace the Blind Cover on the FTU and put the dust cap back on the FiberTwist.
Laser Safety
This product contains a laser that emits invisible light and is classified as a Class 1 Laser product. It is safe under normal use conditions. However, it is advised not to look directly into the fiber connector when the product is powered on.
