Genexis G2420 / G2472 FiberTwist-Series Installation Guide
This document provides instructions for installing and connecting the Genexis FiberTwist G2420 and G2472 devices.
Device Overview
Button Overview
- Unlock button: Press and hold while twisting counterclockwise to remove the FiberTwist or Blind Cover.
- Reset button (recessed) ⚙️: Press and release to reset the device.
- LED dim button ?: Press and release to dim LEDs in steps.
Port Overview
The device features the following ports:
- TV port
- LAN ports (LAN1, LAN2, LAN3, LAN4)
- Power port
LED Overview
Status indicators:
- System LED: Green for system OK, Green (blinking) for booting/firmware upgrade, Off for power off.
- Uplink LED: Green for link OK, Green (blinking) for link establishing, Off for no link.
- TV LED: Green for TV OK, Off for no TV.

Label Position
The product label is positioned on the back of the active device.
Preparation
Ensure there is a power socket within reach of where the device is being installed.
Important: Instructions need to be followed precisely and uninterrupted. This minimizes the risk of damage to the fiber optic connectors, causing a severe degradation of signal quality.
Remove Blind Cover (if present)
Follow these steps to remove the blind cover:
- Press and hold the unlock button (refer to the Button Overview section).
- Rotate the Blind Cover counterclockwise until it stops.
- Remove the Blind Cover from the baseplate (FTU) by pulling it towards yourself.
- Store the Blind Cover in a safe place.

Remove Dust Cap
Follow these steps to remove the dust cap:
- Take the FiberTwist out of the box.
- The dust cap is connected to a red string located on the rear of the FiberTwist.
- Remove the dust cap by pulling the red string.
- Store the dust cap in a safe place.

Connect the FiberTwist
Follow these steps to connect the FiberTwist:
- Place the FiberTwist on the FTU at a 30-degree angle as shown in the accompanying illustration.
- Rotate clockwise until it clicks into place.
- Ensure the FiberTwist is aligned squarely on the FTU, with each edge lining up directly with the FTU below.
Your FiberTwist is now installed!

Connecting the FiberTwist
- If required, connect your television / set-top box to the TV port with a coax cable.
- If required, connect your personal devices to the LAN ports via an RJ45 network cable.
- Connect the supplied power adapter to the FiberTwist and plug the adapter into a power socket.
If at some point in the future it becomes necessary to uninstall the FiberTwist, please place the Blind Cover back on the FTU immediately and put the dust cap back on the FiberTwist.
