Genexis G2410 FiberTwist-Series Installation Guide

Overview

The Genexis G2410 FiberTwist-Series is an advanced network device designed for fiber optic connectivity. This guide details its features, components, and installation steps.

Button Overview

• Unlock button: Used to remove the Fiber Twist or Blind Cover. Press and hold while twisting counterclockwise.
• Reset button (recessed): Press and release to reset the device.
• LED dim button: Press and release to dim the LEDs in steps.

Port Overview

The device features several ports on its front panel:

• LAN ports: Labeled LAN1, LAN2, LAN3, LAN4 for network connections via RJ45 cables.
• Power port: For connecting the power adapter.

LED Overview

The device has indicator LEDs for system status and uplink:

System LED

• Green: System is operating normally.
• Green (blinking): Device is booting or undergoing a firmware upgrade.
• Off: Device is powered off.

Uplink LED

• Green: A stable link is established.
• Green (blinking): A link is being established.
• Off: No link is detected.

Label Position

The product label is located on the back of the active device.

Preparation

Ensure a power socket is accessible near the installation location.

Important: Follow instructions precisely and without interruption to minimize the risk of damage to fiber optic connectors, which can cause severe signal quality degradation.

Remove Blind Cover (if present)

1. Press and hold the unlock button.
2. Rotate the Blind Cover counterclockwise until it stops.
3. Pull the Blind Cover away from the baseplate (FTU) towards yourself.
4. Store the Blind Cover safely.

Remove dust cap

1. Take the Fiber Twist out of the box.
2. The dust cap is attached to a red string on the rear of the Fiber Twist.
3. Pull the red string to remove the dust cap.
4. Store the dust cap safely.

Twist!

1. Position the FiberTwist on the FTU at a 30-degree angle as illustrated.
2. Rotate the device clockwise until it clicks into place.
3. Ensure the FiberTwist is aligned squarely with the FTU, with each edge matching the FTU below.

Your Fiber Twist is now installed!

Connecting the Fiber Twist

1. If necessary, connect your personal devices to the LAN ports using an RJ45 network cable.
2. Connect the supplied power adapter to the FiberTwist and plug the adapter into a power socket.

If you need to uninstall the Fiber Twist in the future, immediately replace the Blind Cover on the FTU and put the dust cap back on the Fiber Twist.

Warning: The FiberTwist is a Class 1 laser product.
