SALTO Si45x Series Installation Guide

Product Overview

This guide provides installation instructions for the SALTO Si45x series of Scandinavian modular locks, designed for Scandinavian modular lock cases.

Applicable Models:

• Si 450 m 00 ff tx hr series
• Si 451 m 05 ff tx hr
• Si 454 m 05 ff tx hr
• Si 455 m 05 ff t x hr
• Si 456 m 00 ff t x hr
• Si 457 m 05 ff tx hr

The lock mechanism itself is not included with this hardware.

Important Installation Notes

• Mortise Lock Pre-turn: SALTO recommends using a mortise lock with a maximum 4° pre-turn.
• Door Thickness: This installation requirement applies only to doors that exceed 60mm thickness.
• Testing Before Closing: At the point of installation, do not close the door until the lock has been tested. Follow the user manual for testing procedures. ⚠️

Declaration of Conformity: Salto Systems S.L. declares that this equipment fulfills essential requirements and applicable dispositions of Directive 1999/5/CE or Directive 89/336/EEC. A copy of the original declaration is available at: www.saltosystems.com. All proximity models are "Receiver class 3".

Handing Selection

This section details how to select the correct handing (left or right) for the lock handles.

Actions:

• PUSH: [push-action] Press down on the handle.
• INSERT: [insert-action] Fit the handle mechanism into place.
• PULL: [pull-action] Pull the handle outwards.

Important Warning: Do not disconnect! ❌ Ensure components remain connected during installation.

Installation Steps

Follow these steps for the physical installation of the SALTO Si45x series hardware:

1. Step A: Mount the escutcheon plate onto the door.
2. Step B: Drill the necessary holes in the door. This typically involves holes of Ø14mm and a minimum diameter of Ø25mm for the cylinder.
3. Step C: Attach the internal handle mechanism to the door.
4. Step D: Install the main lock mechanism into the door's mortise.
5. Step E: Insert the cylinder and connect it to the internal handle mechanism. Ensure the cylinder is correctly oriented.
6. Step F: Install LR03 batteries into the designated compartment.
7. Step G: Attach the external handle to the door, ensuring it aligns with the internal mechanism.
8. Step H: Secure both handles using the provided screws.
9. Step I: Perform a final check for alignment and proper function. A "NOT OK" indicator may be present if alignment is incorrect.
10. Step J: Use a self-drilling screw to keep the components aligned during installation.

Note on Fixing: For assembly, turn counter-clockwise (reverse). ?

Specific Configurations

The Si45x series supports various configurations:

• Single Cylinder with Thumb Turn: For doors requiring a thumb turn on the inside for manual locking/unlocking.
• Hotel Guest Room Lock: Specific hardware and setup for hotel room access control systems.
• Turn Spline Set: This set is required but is not included with the hardware.

Note for LS5Nxx Series: If using the LS5Nxx series mortise lock with a cable, unplug it before proceeding with certain steps as indicated.
