INSTEON Hub Overview
The INSTEON Starter Kit includes the INSTEON Hub, which serves as the central controller for your smart home devices. The Hub connects to your home network and allows you to manage your devices via the INSTEON for Hub mobile application.
Hub Components:
- Status LED: Indicates the operational status of the Hub. A green light signifies the Hub is Idle or Linking, while a red light indicates it is Unlinking.
- Factory Reset Button: Used to restore the Hub to its default factory settings.
- Power Port: Connects the Hub to a power source using the provided power cable.
- Ethernet Port: Connects the Hub to your internet router using the provided Ethernet cable for network connectivity.

INSTEON Dimmer Module Overview
The INSTEON Dimmer Module is a smart device that allows you to control lighting. It can be used to turn lights on/off and adjust brightness levels.
Dimmer Module Features:
- Status LED: Indicates the module's status. Green means the module is On, and Red means it is Off.
- Controls: Features buttons for On/Brighten and Off/Dim, as well as a Set Button for configuration.
- Load Capacity: Supports a maximum load of up to 300W.
Setup Your Kit
Step 1: Connect the Hub
Connect the INSTEON Hub to power and your internet router using only the cables provided in the starter kit. Ensure the Hub is connected directly to the router. Avoid using power strips or switched outlets.

Step 2: Download the App
Download and install the latest "INSTEON for Hub" application from your device's app store. You can typically find the app by searching for "INSTEON for Hub".

Step 3: Configure the Hub
Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same network as the INSTEON Hub. Launch the INSTEON for Hub app and follow the on-screen prompts to create a new account or sign in to an existing one.

Step 4: Add Devices
Follow the on-screen instructions within the INSTEON for Hub app to add your INSTEON Dimmer Modules and other compatible devices to your system.

Remote Access
Enable remote access to monitor and control your INSTEON devices from outside your home. To configure port forwarding for remote access, navigate to Settings > House > Remote Access Guide within the INSTEON for Hub app.

Create a Schedule
Automate your home by creating schedules for individual devices or entire scenes. Access the scheduling feature by going to Settings and tapping "Schedules" within the INSTEON for Hub app.

Add More Control
Expand your smart home capabilities by adding a variety of INSTEON devices. Control everything from simple light switches and keypads to more complex systems like pool pumps.

Add Sensors for Alerts
Enhance your home's security and awareness with INSTEON sensors. These sensors can monitor for motion, detect open doors and windows, alert you to water leaks or smoke, and even track your garage door status.
