7. PIR Detection
PIR Sensor Detection Range: The PIR "Alert Setting" is set to high sensitivity by default but can be adjusted. Navigate to "Device" → "Settings" → "Alert Settings." The detection range is 10 meters.
Note: Higher sensitivity allows for longer-range detection but may increase the frequency of false alerts.
8. Alert Push Notifications and Playback
The PIR sensor battery camera is not designed for continuous recording. It sends notifications to the app only when the PIR sensor detects human motion, storing videos on a Micro SD card or cloud server (additional charges apply). Videos can be checked anytime via the Cococam app.
When the PIR sensor is triggered, the camera and associated systems activate.
- Alert sounds will play through the app. Ensure your phone's settings and volume are configured to receive Cococam app notifications.
- Motion detection photos and videos are saved to the Micro SD card or cloud. Ensure a Micro SD card is inserted into the camera.
9. Optimal Conditions for Night Vision
When the camera is in night vision mode, if there are obstacles within 3 meters of the lens, the infrared light will concentrate and may cause night vision to malfunction. Ensure there are no obstacles within 3 meters of the lens when installing the camera.
10. Important Information for Reducing False Alerts
10.1 Preventing False Alerts:
- Do not install the camera in locations with bright lights or direct sunlight.
- Do not install in areas with heavy traffic or many pedestrians.
- Keep the camera away from air conditioner vents, humidifiers, or heat vents.
- Do not point the camera towards mirrors or glass surfaces.
- To avoid interference, keep the camera at least 1 meter away from other wireless devices.
10.2 Monitoring Area:
[Diagram illustrating recommended PIR sensor placement and viewing angles]
When installing the camera, do not position the PIR sensor perpendicular to the direction of motion. Tilting the camera upwards by more than 10 degrees is recommended to capture all movements.
11. Video Playback and Micro SD Card
Recorded videos are saved to a Micro SD card (not included) or the cloud.
- Capacity: 2-128GB supported.
- Recommended SD Cards: For stable recognition and longevity, Class 10 Speed Micro SD Cards from brands like Samsung, SanDisk, or Kingston are recommended.
- SD Card Preparation: Before inserting the Micro SD card, check for damage and format it. FAT32 or exFAT32 format is required.
- Capacity Display: Inserting a Micro SD card will display its capacity in the Cococam app, indicating it is readable.
- Troubleshooting: If the Micro SD card is not readable, please contact customer support.
Troubleshooting
No. | Description | Solution |
---|---|---|
1 | "Connection Impossible" Error | 1) Verify Wi-Fi network name and password. 2) Ensure you are using a 2.4G network (5G is not supported). 3) Confirm the camera and smartphone are near the router. 4) Contact customer support via email for assistance within 24 hours. |
2 | Reset to Initial Settings | 1) Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds. 2) Wait for the audible prompt. 3) A slow red blinking light indicates completion. |
3 | Connecting Camera to Wi-Fi | 1) Reset the camera to initial settings. 2) Remove the camera from the CocoCam app. 3) Reconnect the camera. |
4 | Photos of people not appearing | 1) The camera may take time to activate; fast-moving individuals might not be captured. 2) Heat-emitting objects can be detected by PIR; reduce PIR sensitivity if necessary. |
5 | Frequent Alerts | Camera activation frequency can be affected by the installation environment and traffic. Adjust the camera's alert sensitivity to "Low." |
6 | Missing Alerts for Passing People | PIR detection range is limited. People may be too far, too close, or moving quickly at the edge of the frame, causing missed detections. |
7 | Alert Notifications Not Working | Enable CocoCam app notifications in your smartphone's settings. |
8 | Video Recording Not Working | Insert a Micro SD card or enable cloud storage. |
9 | Device Offline | Check network connectivity. The camera's location might be too far from the router, resulting in poor Wi-Fi reception. |
10 | Video Delay | Verify Wi-Fi connection. Ensure the camera and router are not too far apart. |
11 | Battery Draining Quickly | The camera may be activating too frequently. Avoid placing it near roads or in direct sunlight. |
12 | Cococam App Crashing/Freezing | 1) Your smartphone's system version might be incompatible. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. 2) Contact customer service with your camera's product number and smartphone system information. |
13 | Account Registration Failed | 1) Ensure you are registering in the correct country. 2) No verification code is needed; follow the steps to complete registration. |
