Fortin EVO-ONE Installation Guide
For Honda Civic (2016-2021)
Regular Installation
This guide provides instructions for the regular installation of the Fortin EVO-ONE system in Honda Civic vehicles (2016-2021). It includes suggested wiring configurations and addenda.
Vehicle Functions Supported: Immobilizer bypass, T-Harness available, Lock, Unlock, Arm, Disarm, Trunk (open), Tachometer, Parking Lights, Door Status, Trunk Status, Hood Status, Hand-Brake Status, Foot-Brake Status, R.S. OEM remote, Stand Alone compatible, OEM Remote Monitoring.
Bypass Firmware Version: 73.[38] (HONDA/ACURA MINIMUM)
To add the firmware version and options, use the FLASH LINK UPDATER or FLASH LINK MOBILE tool (sold separately).
Programming Options:
- Program bypass option: C1 (OEM Remote status monitoring), A11 (Hood trigger/Output Status).
- Program bypass option (if equipped with OEM alarm): D2 (Unlock before/Lock after - Disarm OEM alarm).
- Program remote starter option for R.S. OEM Remote Stand Alone: Function 38, Mode 2 (Enable: Press 3x Lock to remote start with the OEM remote).
Mandatory Installation:
- Hood Pin: The hood pin switch (included) must be installed if the vehicle can be remote started with the hood open. If not, set Function A11 to OFF.
- Security Sticker: The included security sticker must be installed.
Warning: This module must be installed by a qualified technician. Incorrect connections can cause permanent damage to the vehicle.
Wiring Diagrams and Connections
Detailed diagrams illustrate the connections for various components:
- Ignition Harness: Connections for (+ )IGNITION, (+ )12V, (+ )STARTER, (+ )ACCESSORY.
- Parking Lights Harness: Connection for (- )PARKING LIGHTS.
- Steering Column: Connections for (- )HORN and other wires.
- Clutch Connector: Connection for (- )CLUTCH (Manual Transmission).
- Ignition Key Barrel: Connections for IMMO, IGNITION, CAN LOW, CAN HIGH, DATA.
- Immobilizer Connector: Connections for IMMO, IGNITION, CAN LOW, CAN HIGH, DATA.
Specific wire colors and connections are provided for Honda Civic models (2016-2017 and 2018-2020) for various points including the parking light switch, steering column, ignition harness, clutch switch, and immobilizer connector.
Automatic Transmission Wiring Connection: A specific diagram is provided for automatic transmission vehicles, including instructions to cut a loop for the automatic transmission mode.
Manual Transmission Wiring Connection: A specific diagram is provided for manual transmission vehicles, including the clutch connector.
DCryptor Programming Procedure
Parts Required (not included): FLASH LINK UPDATER, FLASH LINK MOBILE, FLASH LINK MANAGER software, or FLASH LINK MOBILE APP for smartphone (Android/iOS).
Steps:
- Press and hold the programming button. Connect the 6-PIN Main harness. Observe LED illumination (Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue & Red).
- Release the programming button when the Blue & Red LEDs are ON. If not, disconnect and restart from step 1.
- Connect the remaining harnesses.
- Press and release the programming button three times (3x). Observe Red and Blue LEDs alternating between 2 flashes and a pause.
- Turn the key to the Ignition ON/RUN position. Wait for the Yellow LED to flash rapidly.
- Wait for the Blue LED to flash rapidly.
- Turn the key to the OFF position. Observe Red and Yellow LEDs flashing alternatively.
- Disconnect all connectors and the 6-Pin (Main-Harness) or 4-Pin Data-link connector.
- Use the FLASH LINK UPDATER or FLASH LINK MOBILE tool to visit the DCryptor menu.
- After DCryptor programming is complete, reconnect the 6-Pin (Main-Harness) or 4-pins (Data-Link) connector and all other remaining connectors.
Remote Starter / Alarm Verification Procedure
Test the remote starter. Remote start the vehicle.
Remote Starter Functionality
To start the vehicle:
- Ensure all doors are closed.
- Remote start the vehicle.
- Unlock the doors with the remote-starter remote or the OEM remote.
- Insert and turn the key to the Ignition ON/RUN position.
- Press the brake pedal.
- The vehicle is now ready to be driven.
