Installation Description and Wiring Connections
This section details the physical connections required to install the Fortin EVO-KEY module into the Kia Niro. It involves identifying specific wires in the vehicle's harness and connecting them to the EVO-KEY module's outputs.
Connection Points
The installation requires accessing wiring harnesses at the following locations:
- Driver's Side Kick Panel: Contains an 82-pin black connector.
- Fuse Box (I/P): Includes a 4-pin black connector and a 38-pin white connector located at the back of the fuse box.

Programming Procedure
- Step 1: Press and hold the programming button on the EVO-KEY module. Insert the 4-Pin Data-Link Connector. The LED indicator will alternate between YELLOW and RED.
- Step 2: Release the programming button when the LED turns solid RED. If the LED is not solid RED, disconnect the 4-Pin connector and repeat Step 1.
- Step 3: Insert the remaining required connectors into the EVO-KEY module.
- Step 4: Press and release the programming button 6 times (6x). The RED LED will flash 5 times and pause.
- Step 5: Do not press the brake pedal. Press the START/STOP button twice to turn ON the ignition. The RED LED will flash rapidly 10 times. This indicates the key bypass is programmed.
- Step 6: Press the START/STOP button once to turn OFF the ignition.
The module is now programmed. Test all supported features using the remote starter or security system to ensure proper programming.
