Front Wheel Installation
WARNING: This wheel uses a front wheel double nut locking system. Follow all instructions carefully to ensure your child's safety. Failure to do so could result in serious injury or death.
- Unfold the stroller frame: Step on the rear tube and pull upward on the lockbar. Then, push the front and rear legs apart. The frame locks when the legs are fully extended. [Illustration: Figure 1 shows the stroller frame unfolding mechanism.]
- Lean the stroller backward so it rests on the handle and rear axle frame, with the front wheel forks pointing upward.
- Slide the front wheel onto the front forks. [Illustration: Attaching the front wheel to the forks.]
- Slide the retainer plate onto the front wheel. Ensure the raised lip points toward the fork and insert it into the slot on the fork. Align the retainer plate's tab with the slot before tightening the wheel. [Illustration: Installing the retainer plate and axle nut.]
- With the wheel in position, install the axle nuts and tighten with a standard wrench. Significant resistance should be felt, and the wheel should be held tightly in place. [Illustration: Tightening axle nuts.]
Testing Front Wheel Installation
- Lift the front wheel off the ground and strike the top of the tire firmly. The wheel should remain secure and not come off. [Illustration: Testing wheel security by striking the tire.]
- If the front wheel wobbles excessively during use, adjust the front wheel housing nut located under the footrest. Use a standard wrench to tighten the nut. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN, as this can damage the wheel housing. [Illustration: Adjusting the front wheel housing nut.]
Fender Installation
Secure the fender to the frame using the 4 provided screws.
- Examine the bottom of the front fender. You will see four 1/4 inch diameter plastic tubes protruding. [Illustration: Bottom of front fender showing plastic tubes.]
- Align these tubes with the holes in the front frame assembly. [Illustration: Aligning fender tubes with frame holes.]
- Line up the front fender and press it onto the front frame assembly. [Illustration: Pressing the front fender onto the frame.]
- Insert the 4 screws through the underside of the front frame assembly into the fender's plastic tubes. Tighten screws until snug. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. [Illustration: Securing the fender with screws.]
Rear Wheel Installation
Lean the stroller forward so it rests on the front wheel.
- To attach the rear wheels, push each wheel's axle into the plastic corner fitting. Depress the metal lever on the inside of the corner fitting while pushing the axle in. When the wheel no longer moves, release the lever. Verify the wheel is locked by pulling on it. If it's not locked, lift the lever, push the wheel further, and release the lever. [Illustration: Attaching rear wheels to the stroller frame.]
- Ensure the wheels are firmly locked. NEVER use the stroller if wheels are not locked. Contact customer service immediately if wheels are not properly locked.
Parent Tray Installation
WARNING: Do not place hot liquids or more than 3 pounds in the parent tray. This could cause serious burns or unstable conditions.
- Align the fittings on the parent tray ends with the fittings on the outside of the handle. Hook the hole in the parent tray. Pull outward on the opposite end while pushing down on the tray until it locks. Be careful not to pinch your fingers. [Illustration: Attaching the parent tray to the stroller handle.]

Safety Harness and Seat Adjustment
WARNING: Avoid serious injury from falling or sliding out. Always use the safety harness.
STRANGULATION HAZARD: Children can strangle in loose straps. Never leave a child in the seat with loose or undone straps.
Harness Adjustment (5-point harness):
- The shoulder straps have 3 attachment positions. Select the position that places the shoulder strap level with, or below, the top of the child's shoulder. [Illustration: Figure 19a shows harness attachment points.]
- Carefully place the child in the stroller seat. Bring the safety harness around the child's waist and over the shoulders. Place the crotch strap between the child's legs. Insert the male ends of the shoulder/waist belts into the buckle on the crotch strap. Tighten the harness snugly around the child's waist and over their shoulders. Refer to Figure 19b for details. [Illustration: Figure 19b shows harness adjustment and tightening.]
To Release the Child: Push the Red Button on the Center Clasp; the two Harness Buckles will pop free. [Illustration: Releasing the harness buckles.] (For Type 2 harness, apply pressure to both sides of each male clip until released. This requires moderate effort to prevent accidental release.)
Seatback Positioning
The seat features multiple recline positions controlled by a strap and buckle assembly behind the seat.
- To recline the seat: Loosen the strap through the buckle and adjust to the desired recline position. [Illustration: Figure 21a shows the recline strap mechanism; Figure 21b shows seatback recline adjustment.]
- To return the seat to a more upright position: Press upward on the seat back with one hand while pulling the strap through the buckle with the other. The strap will lock automatically.
- The upright position is intended only for children at least 6 months old.
- Always readjust the safety harness, including shoulder belts, when repositioning the seatback.
Folding the Stroller
WARNING: Exercise caution when folding and unfolding the stroller to prevent finger entrapment.
- Close the canopy and recline the seat as previously described.
- Fold the stroller by simultaneously pulling each trigger. When the fold latches release, the handle will begin to fall. Release the triggers and press downward on the stroller handle until the stroller is completely folded.
- Secure the stroller in the folded position by locking the fold latch over the frame rivet. [Illustration: Figure 22a shows pulling triggers to fold; Figure 22b shows the folded stroller and locking latch.]
Unfolding the Stroller
- Stand the stroller on the ground with all three wheels touching the ground. Release the folding latch located on the right side. [Illustration: Figure 23a shows releasing the folding latch.]
- Lift the stroller handle with both hands until the frame is erected and locked in the open position. The stroller has spring-loaded latches on both sides of the frame. Test that both latches are fully engaged before placing your child in the stroller. [Illustration: Figure 23b shows unfolding the stroller frame.]
Safety and Usage
Brakes
WARNING: Always set brakes when the stroller is not being pushed to prevent it from rolling away. NEVER leave the stroller unattended on a hill or incline, as it may slide down.
- To engage brakes: Gently apply downward pressure to the brake lever on each rear wheel. You may need to move the stroller slightly forward or backward to align the brake teeth with the wheel brake cluster. [Illustration: Figure 17 shows engaging the stroller brakes.]
- Verify that the stroller does not move and that both brakes are properly applied.
- To release the brakes: Gently lift up on the brake lever.
Front Wheel Lock
WARNING: Always lock the front swivel wheel in the STRAIGHT position before placing or removing children from the stroller.
The stroller is equipped with a front wheel locking device that operates vertically to lock and unlock the wheel. [Illustration: Figure 18 shows the front wheel lock mechanism.]
Wheel Adjustment
Note that three-wheel vehicles can easily deviate from a straight line due to factors like tire pressure, installation, road conditions, and manufacturing tolerances. If your Baby Trend stroller significantly tracks or pulls to the left or right on flat terrain, follow the instructions on page 9 to realign your front wheel.
Maintenance
Regularly check your stroller for loose screws, worn parts, torn material, or stitching. Replace or repair parts as needed.
For cleaning, use mild household soap or detergent with warm water on a sponge or clean cloth.
