Assembly Instructions
Adult assembly is required.
Remove stroller from box. The front wheel, rear wheels, fender, and parent tray need to be installed prior to use.
Front Wheel Installation
- Lean the stroller backwards so that it rests on the handle and rear axle frame, with the front wheel forks pointing upward. (This is illustrated in a diagram showing the stroller tilted back.)
- Slide the front wheel onto the front forks. (Illustrated: Wheel sliding onto fork.)
- Slide the retainer plate onto the front wheel. Ensure the raised lip points toward the fork and insert it into the slot on the fork. Align the tab on the retainer plate with the slot before tightening the wheel. (Illustrated: Retainer plate being positioned on the wheel axle.)
- Install the axel nuts and tighten with a wrench until significant resistance is felt and the wheel is held tightly in place. (Illustrated: Tightening axel nuts.)
TESTING FOR PROPER WHEEL INSTALLATION:
- Lift the front wheel off the ground and strike the top of the tire sharply. The wheel should not be loose or come off.
- If you experience front wheel wobble that is beyond normal, you may need to adjust the front wheel housing nut located under the footrest. Tighten the nut with a wrench, but DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN, as this can damage the wheel housing. (Illustrated: Adjusting the wheel housing nut.)
Fender Installation
- Examine the bottom of the front fender; you will see four 1/4 inch diameter plastic tubes protruding. (Illustrated: Bottom of fender showing tubes.)
- Align these tubes with the holes in the front frame assembly. (Illustrated: Aligning fender tubes with frame holes.)
- Line up the front fender and press onto the front frame assembly. (Illustrated: Pressing fender onto frame.)
- Insert 4 screws through the underside of the front frame assembly into the fender's plastic tubes. Tighten the screws until snug, but DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. (Illustrated: Screwing fender into place.)
To remove the fender, reverse these steps.
Rear Wheel Installation
- Lean the stroller forward to rest on the front wheel.
- To attach the rear wheels, push each wheel's axle into the plastic corner fitting. Depress the metal lever on the inside of the corner fitting while pushing the axle in. Release the lever when the wheel will not go further.
- Check that the wheel is firmly locked by pulling on it. If not locked, lift the lever, push the wheel further, and release the lever again.
- Ensure that the wheels are firmly locked into place. NEVER use the stroller if the wheels are not locked. Contact customer service if wheels are not locked. (Illustrated: Attaching rear wheel with lever mechanism.)
Parent Tray Installation
⚠️ WARNING: Do not place hot liquids or more than 3 pounds in the parent tray. Serious burns or unstable conditions could result.
- Align the fittings on the ends of the parent tray with the fittings on the outsides of the handle. Hook the hole in the parent tray.
- Pull outward on the opposite end while pushing down on the tray until it locks onto the stroller handle. Be careful not to pinch your fingers. (Illustrated: Attaching parent tray to handle.)
- To remove the parent tray, pull outward on one end while lifting upward.
Canopy
- To open the canopy: Push forward on the front edge of the canopy while holding the rear in place. (Illustrated: Opening canopy.)
- To fold the canopy: Pull backward on the front edge. (Illustrated: Folding canopy.)
Child Tray (if equipped)
- To attach the child tray: Insert the tray clip into the fitting on the stroller's fold joint. Check that the tray clip locks into place. (Illustrated: Inserting tray clip.)
- Push the angled tray onto the post at the end of the right armrest, pressing downward on the snap button until locked. Rotate the tray downward until latched onto the left armrest. Ensure the snap button comes through and securely latches the tray. (Illustrated: Attaching tray to armrests.)
- To open the child tray: Pull one side of the release lever (located underneath the child tray) and lift upward. The tray will lift and rotate out of the way.
Pedometer (if equipped)
The pedometer is located in a separate box. Slide it onto the mounting bracket and connect the wire as instructed in the separate box. Caution: Rotate the pedometer inward towards the parent tray when folding the stroller to prevent damage.
MP3 Speaker (if equipped)
MP3 speakers plug into the parent tray. They are compatible with most MP3 players, Apple iPod models, and Apple iPhones. Connect the male end of the speaker wire into your MP3 player to listen to music while strolling.
Infant Car Seat Installation (if equipped)
- Turn the car seat support tabs on the stroller frame. (Illustrated: Turning support tabs.)
- Check that the front child tray is firmly attached to the stroller armrests.
- Position the infant car seat so it faces toward the rear of the stroller, and the seat shell fits into the front tray and latches into place. (Illustrated: Placing car seat into stroller tray.)
- When the infant car seat is locked firmly, strap the single short clip over the infant car seat through the seat belt slot. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE SHORT CLIP IS ALWAYS TIGHTLY FASTENED AROUND THE INFANT CAR SEAT. (Illustrated: Securing car seat with short clip.)
- To remove the Infant Car Seat, squeeze the release handle at the foot-end of the seat and carefully lift upward.
Safety During Use
Always re-adjust the safety harness, including shoulder belts, when repositioning the seatback.
Jogging with Your Stroller
When jogging with your child, use the following safety features:
- Lock the Front Swivel Wheel in Straight Position: Always lock the front swivel wheel in the straight position before placing or removing children from the jogger.
- Safety Wrist Strap: Always connect the safety strap to your wrist when jogging. This strap helps prevent the stroller from rolling away if you trip. The strap must remain connected to the rear lower frame cross member at all times. (Illustrated: Wrist strap attached to stroller frame.)
- Strangulation Hazard: A child can strangle in loose straps. Never leave a child in the seat when straps are loose or undone.
Brakes
- To engage brakes: Apply light downward pressure to the brake lever on each rear wheel. You may need to move the stroller slightly forward or backward to align the brake teeth with the wheel brake cluster. Check that the stroller will not move and both brakes are properly applied. (Illustrated: Engaging brake lever.)
- To release brakes: Gently lift up on the brake lever.
Front Wheel Locking Device
The swivel jogger has a front wheel locking device. There are two types:
- Type 1 (Fig. 19a): A remote release lever located under the right side handle. Pull to disengage the wheel; push to engage the locking device located under the footrest.
- Type 2 (Fig. 19b): Works in a vertical motion (top to bottom) to lock and unlock the wheel.
Tires and Maintenance
Tires
Tires are shipped un-inflated. They should be inflated to between 20 to 25 p.s.i. Always use a bicycle-style hand air pump.
Tire Pump (if equipped): Follow instructions for use, which typically involve attaching the pump to the valve stem and using the handle to inflate.
Flat Tires
The jogging stroller uses bicycle tires and can get flat tires. Flat tires can be repaired using a standard bicycle tire repair kit or by taking the tire to a bicycle shop. For frequent flats, consider purchasing thorn-proof inner tubes. The correct size is indicated on the tire sidewall.
Wheel Adjustment
Three-wheeled vehicles can be influenced to deviate from a straight line due to factors like uneven tire pressure, improper wheel installation, or road conditions. If your stroller significantly tracks or pulls to the left or right on flat terrain, follow the instructions on page 9 to realign the front wheel.
Folding and Unfolding
To Fold Stroller
- Close the canopy and recline the seat as described in their respective sections.
- Simultaneously pull each trigger fold mechanism. (Illustrated: Pulling fold triggers.)
- When the fold latches release, the handle will fall. Release the fold buttons and press downward on the stroller handle until it is completely folded.
- Secure the stroller in the folded position by locking the fold latch over the frame rivet. (Illustrated: Locking folded stroller.)
⚠️ WARNING: Care must be taken when folding and unfolding the stroller to prevent finger entrapment.
To Unfold Stroller
- Stand the stroller on the ground with all three wheels touching the ground.
- Release the folding latch located on the right side. (Illustrated: Releasing fold latch.)
- Lift the stroller handle with both hands until the frame is erected and locked in the open position. (Illustrated: Lifting handle to unfold.)
- Ensure that both spring-loaded latches on the frame are fully engaged before placing your child in the stroller.
