Installation Diagram (AL30B)
This diagram illustrates the placement of various components on a door for installation. It shows the Outdoor assembly, Indoor assembly, Latch, Strike box, Strike plate, Gasket, Mounting plate, Keys, Screws (A, B, C), 3M tapes, and Stud. The diagram indicates how these parts connect and are positioned relative to the door. It also shows optional placement for the outdoor assembly and battery components.
Installation Procedure
1. Setting up the door
Follow these steps to prepare your door:
- Tape the Installation Template at the desired handle height.
- Mark for the holes and drill the marked location.
- The hole A doesn't need to be drilled if the lock will be fixed by 3M Tapes.
Diagram shows a door edge with dimensions indicating recommended placement for drilling holes. Dimensions include 35mm - 53mm for door thickness and 60mm/70mm for backset. A red 'A' marks a specific hole location.
Make sure your door is set up as required, prior to installation. Please use the supplied Template for drilling holes if required.
2. Adjust the backset of the lock to 70mm (if needed)
Backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the hole drilled on the door. The default Backset is 60mm, but if you want to change the Backset to 70mm, grasp the body and twist the Faceplate as shown below:
60mm backset:
Diagram shows the latch bolt being pressed inside, the faceplate rotated, pulled out, and then rotated back to achieve the 60mm backset.
By default, the metal shaft twists over the center as shown:
Diagram shows two states of the metal shaft: one with a checkmark (✔️) indicating correct alignment, and one with a cross mark (❌) indicating incorrect alignment.
70mm backset:
Diagram shows the latch bolt being pressed inside, the faceplate rotated, pulled out, and then rotated back to achieve the 70mm backset.
3. Latch Installation
- Before installing the Latch, make sure the Latch Bolt is in retracted (Unlocked) position and the arrow is facing upwards.Diagram shows the latch mechanism with an arrow pointing upwards, indicating the correct orientation for installation.
- Secure the Latch by inserting the B screws.Diagram shows the latch being attached to the door edge with screws.
4. Installation of Outdoor assembly
There are two methods to install the Outdoor assembly:
Method 1: Installing with 3M Tapes
- Paste a 3M Tape on the Mounting plate of Outdoor assembly.
- 1) Make sure the highlighted Spindle is in the horizontal position, as shown. 2) Route the cable through the opening below the bolt. 3) Attach the Outdoor assembly to the door by inserting it through the Latch.Diagram shows applying 3M tape to the mounting plate, then aligning and attaching the outdoor assembly to the door, routing the cable.
Method 2: Installing with Stud
- Move the Gasket away and fix the Stud on the Mounting plate of Outdoor assembly.
- 1) Make sure the highlighted Spindle is in the horizontal position, as shown. 2) Route the cable through the opening below the bolt. 3) Attach the Outdoor assembly to the door by inserting it through the Latch.Diagram shows fixing a stud to the mounting plate, then aligning and attaching the outdoor assembly to the door, routing the cable.
5. Installation of Mounting plate with Gasket
Method 1: Installing with 3M Tapes
- Paste a 3M Tape on the Mounting plate of Indoor assembly.
- Attach the Mounting plate to the Gasket and route the cable through the hole on the Mounting plate and Gasket.
- Place the Gasket and Mounting plate on to the door and use 2 C screws to secure them.Diagram shows applying 3M tape to the indoor mounting plate, attaching it to the gasket, routing the cable, and then securing it to the door with screws.
Method 2: Installing with Stud
- Attach the Mounting plate to the Gasket and route the cable through the hole on the Mounting plate and Gasket.
- Place the Gasket and Mounting plate on to the door and use 3 C screws to secure them.Diagram shows attaching the mounting plate to the gasket, routing the cable, and then securing it to the door with screws.
6. Installation of Indoor assembly
- Connect the male cable to the female connector on the Indoor assembly.Diagram shows connecting the cable from the outdoor unit to the indoor assembly.
- Place the Indoor assembly properly on the Mounting plate. Then use A screws to secure Indoor assembly. The Knob dot must be positioned in direction of Bolt.Diagram shows the indoor assembly being mounted onto the plate and secured with screws, with a note about knob dot orientation.
7. Verify Mechanical Unlock
- Rotate the Knob to check that Latch Bolt can be extended correctly or not.Diagram shows rotating the knob on the indoor assembly to test the latch bolt extension.
- Insert the Key and rotate to check that Latch Bolt can be extended correctly or not.Diagram shows inserting a key and rotating it to test the latch bolt extension.
Warning: Do not install the batteries until the proper installation of the lock!
8. Initialization of Lock
After installing the Lock, you must perform Initialization process, as explained in the steps below:
- Rotate the Knob to make the Latch Bolt in the extended position.
- First, insert just 3 batteries in the Lock.
- Use a needle or a pin to press and hold the [Reset Button].
- Now, insert the last one battery, and do not release the [Reset Button] until the Lock prompts "Restore to default settings, wait a moment."
- After 10 seconds, the Lock will prompt "Complete", which means the Initialization process is completed.
Diagram shows the indoor assembly with a highlighted area indicating the location of the Reset button.
- This initialization will clear all the data and detect the appropriate lock direction.
- You can also change the direction of the Lock manually by continuously pressing the [Reset Button] 5 times.
- If the Installation of the latch is in the opposite direction to the default Lock setting, there would be a noise from the Motor after inserting the final battery. When this state occurs, perform the Initialization process again to solve the issue.
- The initial Lock can be opened by any verification (Fingerprints, Passwords or Cards) until the first Administrator is registered.
9. Mark and drill holes for the Strike box and Plate
- Make sure that the Strike box is in the level of Latch Bolt, then use Installation Template to drill holes.Diagram shows a door edge with precise measurements for drilling holes for the strike box and plate. Dimensions provided include 29mm, 58mm, 33mm, 21.5mm, 14mm, 35mm, and a depth of 2mm.
- Align the Strike box and Plate with the drilled hole and use B screws to secure them.Diagram shows the strike box and plate being aligned with the drilled holes on the door frame and secured with screws.
