FEATURES AND CONTROLS
Steering Wheel Adjustments
To adjust the steering wheel, pull the lever [1] down, set the angle [2] and distance [3], then pull the lever [1] up to lock.
Note: Do not adjust while driving.
Charging Door
Push the charging door open button to open. After charging, reinstall the bottom inlet cover before the upper inlet cover, then close the door until latched.
Emergency Charging Door Opening: Open the tailgate and slightly pull the emergency cable. If the dash button fails, pull the emergency cable.
Plug Unlock: Press to unlock the plug when fully charged.
Charge Timer Activation: Press to turn off the scheduled charge timer.
Driver's Main Controls
Folding Outer Side View Mirrors: Press the lock or unlock button on the smart key in AUTO position to fold/unfold mirrors.
Outer Side View Mirror Adjustment: Use the directional switch to adjust the mirror after pressing the [L] or [R] button.
Power Window Lock Button: Disables rear passenger window switches.
Door Lock: Locks/unlocks all doors.
Window Switches: Controls front and rear power windows.
Headlights
Controls include:
- Headlights On: Manual activation.
- Parking Lights On: For visibility when parked.
- AUTO Headlights On: Automatic activation based on ambient light.
- DRL Off: Daytime Running Lights off.
Headlight Delay: Headlights remain on for 15 seconds after exiting and locking. Press the smart key lock button twice to turn them off.
Turn Signals & Lane Change Signals: Operate the lever for signals.
High Beams: Push the lever forward for high beams. Pull the lever towards you to turn them off.
Dynamic Bending Light (DBL)
DBL swivels and levels headlamps based on steering angle and speed to improve forward vision. Turn DBL on by rotating the knob to AUTO when the vehicle is in READY mode. Turn off by returning the knob to the previous position.
Wipers and Washer
Wiper speeds: MIST (single wipe), OFF, INT (intermittent), LO (low speed), HI (high speed).
Intermittent Wipe Time Adjustment: Use the speed control switch to adjust wipe frequency.
Windshield Washer: Pull the lever gently towards you to spray washer fluid and activate wipers (1-3 cycles).
Sunroof
Sliding Sunroof: Push the switch backward past the detent to open; push forward past the detent to close.
Tilting Sunroof: Push the switch up to tilt; pull the switch forward to close.
The sunshade opens automatically with the sunroof.
Interior Lights
Controls include front map lamp [1], front door lamps [2, 3] (turn on when doors open), and front room lamp [4].
Child-Protector Rear Door Lock
Lock: Insert a screwdriver into the hole and turn to lock. Unlock: Insert a screwdriver and turn clockwise to unlock.
Liftgate Opening
Press to open the liftgate with the smart key within range. Press and hold.
Rear Seat Folding
Instructions for folding the rear seats are provided via diagrams.
Homelink Wireless Control System
Standard Programming: Follow steps to train devices by pressing and holding buttons on the transmitter and Homelink system. For details, visit www.homelink.com or call (800) 355-3515.
Wireless Cellular Phone Charging System
Located in front of the cup holders, this system supports Qi-enabled phones. Ensure doors are closed and the engine is in ACC/ON/START position. Avoid placing metallic items or credit cards on the charger.
Seat Warmer (Front Seat)
Press the button to cycle through settings: OFF, HIGH, MIDDLE, LOW. Press and hold to turn off immediately.
High Voltage Battery Cooling Duct
Located at the bottom center of the rear seats. Do not obstruct the air intake.
Rear View Camera
Displays the area behind the vehicle when the gear is in Reverse (R).
Clock Adjustment
With Audio: Use the audio head unit's SETUP button, select Date/Time, and adjust values. Supports 24-hour format and Daylight Saving Time (DST).
With Navigation: Use the navigation head unit's SETUP button, select Clock, and adjust values. Displays GPS time and supports 24-hour format and DST.
Instrument Cluster
The instrument cluster displays vital information:
- [1] ECO guide: Shows energy consumption and regenerative braking status.
- [2] Speedometer: Displays vehicle speed.
- [3] Warning and Indicator Lights: Alerts for various vehicle systems.
- [4] LCD Display: Shows trip computer and other data.
- [5] Battery SOC (State of Charge) Gauge: Indicates high voltage battery level.
Warnings and Indicators: A comprehensive list of indicators and their meanings is provided, including Ready, Service, Power Down, Charging, High Voltage Battery Low Level, TPMS, ABS, ESC, Airbag, and more.
ECO GUIDE
The ECO guide illustrates energy consumption (POWER, ECO) and regenerative braking status (CHARGE).
High Voltage Battery SOC (State of Charge) Gauge
This gauge shows the battery charge status. Low levels are indicated near 'L', and full charge near 'H'. A low charge (2-3 bars near 'L') triggers a warning light and allows for an estimated 12-18 miles of driving.
LCD Display Control
Use the [MODE] button [1] to change display modes, [∧/∨] switch [2] to select items, and [OK] button [3] to set or reset.
LCD Display Modes:
- Trip Computer: Displays driving info like tripmeter and fuel economy.
- Turn By Turn (TBT): Shows navigation guidance.
- Assist: Displays status of Advanced Smart Cruise Control (ASCC) and Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), and Tire Pressure information.
- User Settings: Allows changes to door, lamp, and other settings.
- Warning: Displays system warnings, such as Blind Spot Detection alerts.
Instrument Panel Illumination
Adjust the instrument cluster brightness using the illumination control button.
Aux. Battery Saver+
Monitors the 12V auxiliary battery. If low, the high voltage battery charges it. Default is ON; can be disabled via User Settings.
Note: Do not touch high voltage wiring or components when this function is active.
Electric Vehicle System Modes
Access EV modes via the AVN screen or EV button. Modes include Range, Nearby Stations, Energy Information, Drive Mode settings, ECO Driving, and Charging/Climate settings.
Automatic Climate Control
Controls include: Temperature control knob [1], Fan speed knob [2], AUTO button [3], OFF button [4], Front windshield defrost [5], Rear window defrost [6], Air conditioning [7], Air intake control [8], Mode selection [9], Driver only [10], HEAT button [11], EV button [12].
Defogging/Defrosting
Press the front defrost button, set temperature to warmest, and fan speed to highest. Keep windshield clean for best results.
System Off
Pressing the OFF button turns off the system, including the blower, selects outside air, and maintains the last set temperature.
Mode Selection
Diagrams illustrate air flow direction controls.
EV Mode
Access EV mode via the AVN screen or EV button for menus like Nearby Stations, Energy Info, Drive Mode, and ECO Driving.
Air Intake Control
Allows selection between Recirculated air and Outside (fresh) air.
Heat Button
Press to turn the heater on or off.
Driver Only
Directs cold air primarily to the driver's seat.
Automatic Heating/Air Conditioning
Press the [AUTO] button [1] and set the desired temperature [2]. The system automatically controls modes, fan speed, and air intake.
Rear Window Defroster
Press to activate/deactivate the rear window defroster.
MULTIMEDIA
Steering Wheel Audio Control
Controls include VOLUME (+/-) [1], SEEK/PRESET (∧/∨) [2] for station changes, MODE [3] for audio source, and MUTE [4] to silence audio.
Bluetooth® Phone Call Operational Tips
For optimal call quality, keep Bluetooth volume low, avoid rough roads or open windows, and ensure air conditioning vents do not face the microphone.
Steering Wheel Bluetooth® Control: [CALL] button places/transfers calls; [END] button ends calls or cancels functions.
Answering Calls: Press the steering wheel button. Rejecting Calls: Press the steering wheel button. Adjusting Ring Volume: Use steering wheel VOLUME buttons. Transferring to Phone: Press and hold the steering wheel button. Finishing Calls: Press the steering wheel button.
Making a Call Using Voice Recognition: Press the [ ] button on the steering wheel to activate. Press and hold [ ] to end.
Calling by Name: Press [ ] button, then say "Call [Name]". Calling by Number: Press [ ] button, say "Dial Number", then say the phone number.
Note: Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also available.
Voice Recognition Tips
Voice recognition allows hands-free phone operation. Performance may be affected by open windows, HVAC system, tunnels, or rough roads. Press the [ ] key to start voice command.
Available Commands:
- Call: Displays contacts.
- Call [Name]: Calls a contact.
- Dial Number / Dial [Phone #]: Enters a number to call.
- Redial: Calls the last dialed number.
- Call History: Displays call history.
Bluetooth® Phone Operation
Phone Setup (Pairing with Audio): Press the [PHONE] button (head unit) or [CALL] button (steering wheel). Search for the vehicle name on your phone and pair. Confirm the 6-digit passkey. Pairing is complete after pressing OK on your device. Note: Vehicle must be parked.
Phone Setup (Pairing with Navigation): Press the [PHONE] button (head unit) or [CALL] button (steering wheel). Pair your phone after detection. Enter passkey or accept authorization. Connect Bluetooth. Note: Vehicle must be parked.
Blue Link Telematics System
Blue Link requires a subscription. Enroll at your dealership or MyHyundai.com. Access services by pressing the [ ] button. Services include Service Link, Roadside Assistance, Blue Link Account Services, Help, and Cancel. For navigation-equipped vehicles, press [ ] for Destination Voice Search (Google™). Remote Climate Control: Enables remote climate control and defroster activation. Requires a Blue Link Personal Identification Number (PIN) from www.MyHyundai.com. Remote Start features have time limits and proximity key requirements. Note: Availability may vary by model and transmission type.
Preconditions for Remote Climate Control: Ignition OFF, alarm armed, gear in Park, brake not pressed, hood closed, doors/tailgate locked, security system inactive, proximity key not inside, battery not low, vehicle in open area, and less than 4 days since last ignition off, good cell reception.
Remote Climate Control Termination: After time limit, brake pressed without key, alarm triggered without key, or door/trunk opened from inside.
Notice: Local laws may restrict remote engine start. Check regulations.
WARNING: Do not remote start in enclosed spaces due to carbon monoxide risk. Do not leave children or animals unattended.
CAUTION: Turn off windshield wipers before parking to prevent damage from ice/snow.
Navigation
Basic Features on Map Screen: Controls include Place [1], Home [2], Map view [3], NAV volume [4], Zoom In/Out [5, 7], Map Scale [6], Quick Menu [8], NAV button [9], Map scroll [10], Destination [11], Waypoint [12], Save [13], POI [14], and Vehicle Position [15].
Destination Search Screen: Search by Address [1], Previous Destinations [2], Local Search (Google) [3], POI Categories [4], Charging Stations [5], Restaurants [6], Emergency Facilities [7], Address Book [8], Phone Number [9], Freeway Exit/Entrance [10], Intersection [11], or Coordinates [12].
AUX, USB AND iPod® PORT: Connect external audio devices for playback through the vehicle's audio system.
DRIVING
Electric Vehicle Components
Key components include: On-Board Charger (OBC) [1], EPCU (Inverter + LDC) [2, 3], Motor [4], Reduction Gear [5], and High Voltage Battery [6].
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
Low Tire Pressure Indicator: Illuminates if a tire is significantly under-inflated.
TPMS Malfunction Indicator: Blinks for one minute, then stays illuminated if there's a TPMS malfunction. Inspect tires and adjust pressure. If the lamp persists, consult a dealer.
TPMS Display (LCD): Shows tire pressures after driving. Low pressure triggers the indicator and LCD message. Recommended pressure is on the driver's side door pillar placard.
Automatic with Push Button Drive Selector
Select gears (P, R, N, D) by pressing the shift button. Gear position displays in the instrument cluster. Always depress the brake pedal when shifting.
Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS)
Generates engine sound for pedestrian safety at low speeds. An additional warning sound occurs in Reverse (R).
Regenerative Brake Level Control Paddles
Adjust regenerative braking from 0 to 3. Left paddle [ ] increases braking; right paddle [ ] decreases it. Paddles do not operate when both are pulled simultaneously or when Cruise Control is active.
Electronic Parking Brake (EPB)
Applying: Stop the vehicle, then pull up the EPB switch. Releasing: Press the EPB switch while depressing the brake pedal.
Automatic Releasing: Occurs when shifting out of Park (P) or Neutral (N) into Drive (D) or Reverse (R) with the brake pedal depressed.
Note: Emergency braking is possible by pulling and holding the EPB switch.
Auto Hold
When stopped, Auto Hold keeps the vehicle stationary even if the brake pedal is released. Brakes release automatically when the accelerator is pressed.
- Press the [AUTO HOLD] switch.
- Stop by depressing the brake pedal; the brake remains engaged.
- Auto Hold releases when the accelerator is pressed in D or N.
To cancel, press the [AUTO HOLD] switch again.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
The ESC system helps maintain vehicle control in adverse conditions. It is automatically ON when the engine starts.
To turn off Traction Control, press the [ESC OFF] button briefly. To turn off Traction & Stability Control, press and hold the [ESC OFF] button for over 3 seconds.
Drive Mode Integrated Control System
Select drive modes (ECO, SPORT, NORMAL) based on preference or road conditions. The system defaults to NORMAL (except ECO mode) after restart.
- Normal Mode: Provides regular driving performance.
- ECO Mode: Enhances fuel efficiency by reducing acceleration and HVAC performance.
- Sport Mode: Offers a sportier feel with potentially heavier steering; fuel efficiency may decrease.
Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
Detects lane markings and warns if the vehicle drifts out of lane at speeds over 40 mph. Press the LDWS switch to turn on/off.
Blind Spot Detection System (BSD)
Uses radar to alert the driver of vehicles in blind spots [1], during lane changes [2], and for Rear Cross Traffic [3]. Press the BSD button to turn on/off. Activates above 20 mph. Rear Cross Traffic Alert warns of approaching vehicles when in Reverse (R).
Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)
Detects vehicles or pedestrians ahead and warns of imminent collisions, applying emergency braking if necessary. Activate via "User Settings → Driving Assist → Autonomous Emergency Braking". System deactivates when cancelled.
Cruise Control / Smart Cruise Control
Cruise Control: Allows setting a constant speed without using the accelerator. Controls: On/Off [1], Resume/Increase Speed [2], Set/Decrease Speed [3], Cancel [4].
Smart Cruise Control (with Vehicle Distance): Maintains constant speed and distance. Vehicle-to-vehicle distance [1] activates with cruise speed [2]. Adjust distance by pressing the vehicle distance button.
To switch between Smart Cruise Control (SCC) and standard Cruise Control (CC), press and hold the vehicle distance button for over 2 seconds.
Electric Vehicle Tips
Maximize fuel economy and EV driving experience with these tips:
- Check tire pressure.
- Roll windows up when driving.
- Properly maintain the vehicle.
- Turn A/C off when not needed.
- Set headlights to AUTO or OFF when not in use to preserve battery.
- Use the DRIVER ONLY button for single-occupant driving to reduce energy consumption.
- Drive in an eco-friendly manner, aiming to illuminate the ECO Mode indicator.
- Drive smoothly and accelerate moderately.
- Maintain speed with traffic to avoid unnecessary adjustments.
- Keep a safe distance to prevent sudden braking.
