Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid Quick Reference Guide

This guide provides a quick overview of key features and operations for the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid. For detailed information, always refer to the Owner's Manual.

Key Delivery Features

How to Defrost (page 24-25): 1. Press the front defrost button. 2. Set to warmest temperature. 3. Set to highest fan speed.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) (page 36): Displays a ⚠️ LOW TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR / TPMS MALFUNCTION INDICATOR. Note: Tire pressure may vary in colder temperatures. Inflate tires according to the Tire Pressure Label on the driver's side door pillar.

Windshield Wiper / Washer (page 10): Use the switch to control wipers. Positions: MIST (single wipe), OFF, INT (intermittent), LO (low speed), HI (high speed). Pull lever towards you for washer fluid and 1-3 wiper cycles.

Unlocking Vehicle (page 02): Buttons on the smart key include LOCK ?, UNLOCK ?, LIFTGATE UNLOCK, and PANIC ?.

Blue Link (pages 31-33): Features include assistance with MyHyundai.com account creation, Blue Link enrollment, and access to the Blue Link Users Manual and Voice Commands/Quick Tip Card. Encourage customers to press the Blue Link button.

Getting Started

Smart Key

The smart key allows for the following operations:

  • LOCK ?
  • UNLOCK ?
  • LIFTGATE UNLOCK
  • PANIC ?

Driver's door Lock/Unlock: The smart key must be within 28-40 inches of the outside door handle. Press once to unlock the driver door, twice to unlock all doors, and a third time to lock all doors.

Removing the Mechanical Key: Press and hold the release button (A) to remove the mechanical key.

Front Seat Adjustment

Manual Adjustment: Controls for forward/backward movement (1), seat cushion height (2), and seatback angle (3).

Power Adjustment: Controls for forward/backward movement (1), seat cushion height (1), seatback angle (2), and lumbar support (3).

Headrest Adjustment

To raise: Pull headrest up. To lower: Press the lock button while pressing down on the headrest.

Seat Belt Adjustment (Front seat)

Pull up to raise the belt. Press the button and push down to lower it.

Engine Start/Stop Button

With the ignition OFF and foot off the brake pedal, press the Engine Start/Stop button. One press for ACC mode, two for ON mode, three for OFF. To start the vehicle, press the button while pressing the brake pedal. To turn off, place the shift lever in P (Park) and press the button. If the button is not lit or responding, refer to the 12V Battery Reset Switch section in the Owner's Manual.

Emergency Situations: To turn off while moving, press the button for over 2 seconds or 3 times consecutively within 3 seconds. To restart while moving, press the button with the shift lever in N (Neutral).

Driver Position Memory System

Storing: 1. Adjust seat, mirrors, and illumination. 2. Press SET button (one beep). 3. Press memory button (1 or 2) within 4 seconds (two beeps). Shift lever must be in P (Park).

Recalling: Press the desired memory button (1 or 2) (one beep).

Features and Controls

Steering Wheel Adjustments

Do not adjust while driving. 1. Pull lever down. 2. Adjust angle and distance. 3. Pull lever up to lock.

Fuel Filler Door

1. Push the fuel filler door opener button. 2. Remove the fuel tank cap. Tighten the fuel filler cap until one click is heard.

12 Volt Battery Reset Switch

This vehicle uses an integrated 12V battery. The 12V Battery Reset Switch is activated to start the vehicle if the Start/Stop button is unresponsive. Instructions: 1. Press the switch to reconnect the 12V battery. 2. Start the vehicle within 15 seconds. 3. After starting, operate the vehicle for 30 minutes to charge the battery. If reset fails, try jump-starting.

Driver's Main Controls

Includes side view mirror adjustment, power window lock button, door lock (locks/unlocks all doors), and window switches for front and rear doors.

Headlights

Controls for headlights on, parking lights, auto headlights, DRL off. Headlight Delay: Lights stay on for 15 seconds after exiting/locking. Press smart key lock button twice to turn off headlights.

Turn signals and lane change signals: Operate via the steering column stalk.

Flashing Headlights: Pull stalk towards you.

High Beams: Push stalk away from you. To turn off high beam, pull lever towards you.

Dynamic Bending Light (DBL)

DBL uses steering angle and vehicle speed to improve vision by swiveling and leveling the headlamp. Turn ON by setting knob to AUTO mode when vehicle is in ready (EV) mode. Turn OFF by returning knob to former position.

Wipers and Washer

Controls for MIST (single wipe), OFF, INT (intermittent), LO (low speed), HI (high speed). Intermittent wipe time adjustment is available. Pull lever towards you for windshield washer fluid and 1-3 wiper cycles.

Sunroof

Sliding: Press switch backward past detent to open, forward past detent to close. The sunshade opens automatically with the sunroof.

Tilting: Press switch up to tilt, pull switch forward to close.

Interior Lights

Controls for Front map lamp (1), Front door lamp (2), Front room lamp (3, 4).

Child-Protector Rear Door Lock

Insert key into the hole and turn to lock position. Turn clockwise to unlock position.

Liftgate Opening

Press to open. Smart key must be within range. Press and hold to open.

Rear Seat Folding

Mechanism for folding rear seats.

Homelink Wireless Control System

Standard programming instructions provided for training devices. Visit www.homelink.com or call (800) 355-3515 for more information.

Wireless Cellular Phone Charging System

Located in the front console. Operates with doors closed and ignition in ACC/ON/START. Supports Qi-enabled phones. Do not place metallic items or credit cards on the charger. Charging area may be warm.

Seat Warmer (Front seat)

Button cycles through OFF, HIGH, MIDDLE, LOW settings. Press and hold to turn off immediately.

High Voltage Battery Cooling Duct

Located on the left side of the rear seats. Do not obstruct air intake.

Rear View Camera

Displays the area behind the vehicle when the shift lever is moved to R (Reverse).

Clock Adjustment

With Navigation: Press SETUP, select Clock, select desired items (GPS time, Daylight Saving Time, 24 Hours).

With Audio: Press SETUP, select Date/Time, select desired items (Date/Time, 24 Hours, Daylight Saving Time).

Instrument Cluster

Type A & Type B: Displays Power gauge (1), Speedometer (2), Battery SOC gauge (3), Fuel gauge (4), Warning and indicator lights (5), and LCD display (including Trip computer) (6).

Warnings and Indicators

A comprehensive list of warning and indicator lights is provided, including Ready indicator, EV mode indicator, Service warning light, Air bag warning light, ABS warning light, Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), Low fuel level warning light, Master warning light, Immobilizer indicator, Turn signal indicator, Light ON indicator, Exterior light warning, Cruise SET indicator, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) warning, SPORT mode indicator, Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) indicator, Seat belt warning, Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) warning, Charging system warning, Engine coolant temperature warning, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) indicator, Regenerative brake warning, Electric Power Steering (EPS) warning, Engine oil pressure warning, TPMS Malfunction/Low tire pressure warning, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) OFF indicator, High beam indicator, Cruise indicator, and ECO mode indicator.

Power Gauge

Indicates current driving condition: CHARGE (regenerated energy), ECO (eco-friendly driving), POWER (exceeding eco-friendly range).

Hybrid Battery SOC (State of Charge) Gauge

Indicates remaining hybrid battery power. If SOC is near 'L (Low)', the engine automatically operates to charge the battery.

Instrument Panel Illumination

Press the illumination control button to adjust brightness.

LCD Display Control

Controls include MODE button (1) for changing modes, MOVE switch (2) for changing items, and SELECT/RESET button (3) for setting/resetting.

LCD Display Modes

Type A: Trip Computer, Turn By Turn (TBT), SCC/LDWS, A/V, Information, User Settings.

Type B: Trip Computer, Turn By Turn (TBT), Assist, User Settings, Warning.

Automatic Climate Control

Features include temperature control knobs, AUTO button, OFF button, defrost buttons (front windshield, rear window), A/C button, Air intake control, Fan speed control, Mode selection, SYNC button, and Driver Only mode.

Defogging/Defrosting: Press front defrost button, set temperature to warmest, and set fan speed to highest.

System Off: Blower turns off, fresh air selected, last set temperature used.

Mode Selection: Changes air flow direction.

Air Intake Control: Recirculated or Outside (fresh) air position.

SYNC Button: Adjusts driver and passenger temperature/airflow equally.

Driver Only: Directs cold air primarily to the driver's seat.

Automatic Heating/Air Conditioning: Press AUTO button and set desired temperature.

Rear Window Defroster: Press to activate/deactivate.

Multimedia

Steering Wheel Audio Control

Controls include VOLUME (+/-), SEEK/PRESET ( / ), MODE, and MUTE ( ).

Bluetooth® Phone Call Operational Tips

To avoid distortion/echo: keep volume low, avoid rough roads/open windows, and ensure AC vents are not facing the microphone.

Making a call using voice recognition

Press button on steering wheel to activate. Say commands like "Call <John Smith>" or "Dial Number." Press and hold button to end voice recognition.

Voice Recognition Tips

Voice recognition allows phone operation without taking eyes off the road. Performance may be affected by open windows, HVAC system, tunnels, or uneven roads.

Quick reference on using voice commands: Commands include Call, Call <Name>, Dial Number, Dial <Phone #>, Redial, Call History.

Bluetooth® Phone Operation

Phone setup (pairing phone) with Audio/Navigation: Press PHONE button (head unit) or CALL button (steering wheel). Search for vehicle name on mobile phone, pair, confirm passkey, and connect. Vehicle must be parked for pairing.

Blue Link Telematics System

Requires subscription. Enroll via dealership or MyHyundai.com. Access services by pressing the button. Options include Service Link, Roadside Assistance, Blue Link Account Services, Help, Cancel. Press button for Destination Voice Search (Google™). Press SOS button for Emergency Assistance. Visit HyundaiBlueLink.com or call 1-855-2BLUELINK.

MyHyundai with Blue Link App

Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Visit HyundaiBlueLink.com FAQs for compatible devices. The app offers features like Remote Climate Control.

Remote Climate Control: Enables remote climate control and front window defroster activation. Requires Blue Link PIN. Preconditions include ignition OFF, alarm armed, gearshift in P, brake not depressed, etc. Will terminate after 15 minutes or if certain conditions are met. Laws may restrict remote start use.

WARNING: Do not remote start in enclosed environments due to carbon monoxide risk. Do not leave children or animals unattended.

CAUTION: Turn off windshield wipers before parking to prevent damage.

Navigation

Basic features on map screen: Includes Place button, Home button, Map button, NAV volume, Zoom in/out, Quick menu, NAV button, Map scroll, Destination button, Waypoint button, Save button, POI button, and Vehicle position mark.

Destination search screen: Search by Address, Previous Destinations, Local Search, POI Categories, Charging Stations, Restaurants, Emergency facilities, Address Book, Phone Number, Freeway Exit/Entrance, Intersection, or Coordinates.

AUX, USB AND iPod® PORT: Connect external audio devices.

Driving

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

Low Tire Pressure Indicator: Illuminates if tire pressure is significantly low.

TPMS Malfunction Indicator: Blinks then illuminates if there is a TPMS malfunction. Inspect tires and adjust pressure. If light remains on, consult dealer.

Low Tire Pressure / Tire Pressure Monitor / TPMS Malfunction Display: Tire pressures display after driving. Indicates tires requiring air. Recommended pressure is on the driver's side door pillar placard.

Dual Clutch Transmission

Operations: Depress brake and press shift button while moving lever; press shift button while moving lever; lever can operate freely.

Manual shift mode: Shift from D to manual gate for holding gears longer and downshifting at higher RPM.

ECO/SPORT mode: ECO mode improves fuel efficiency. SPORT mode offers a sportier feel with potentially heavier steering effort and decreased fuel efficiency.

Dual Clutch Transmission Characteristics

It's an automatically shifting manual transmission with two clutches. May produce clicking sounds when engine is turned on/off. When stopped on a hill, the vehicle remains stationary for approx. 2 seconds before entering creep mode.

Caution: Use foot brake to hold car on a hill. Overheated clutch may cause shuddering and display blinking. If this occurs, pull over, shift to P, and apply brake.

Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS)

Generates engine sound for pedestrians when motor power is used, as the vehicle is otherwise quiet.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

Helps maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions. Automatically ON when engine starts.

To turn off Traction Control: Press ESC OFF button shortly.

To turn off Traction & Stability Control: Press ESC OFF button for more than 3 seconds.

Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)

Detects lane departure and warns the driver at speeds over 40 mph. Turn ON/OFF by pressing the LDWS switch.

Blind Spot Detection System (BSD)

Uses radar to alert the driver of vehicles in blind spots. Monitors rear area. Includes Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Activate/deactivate by pressing the BSD button. Activates if vehicle speed exceeds 20 mph.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert: Alerts if a vehicle approaches from the sides when in Reverse.

Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)

Type A & Type B: Detects vehicles or pedestrians ahead and warns or applies emergency braking. Activate via "User Settings → Driving Assist → Forward Collision Warning → Autonomous Emergency Braking" (Type A) or "User Settings → Driving Assist → Autonomous Emergency Braking" (Type B).

Cruise Control / Smart Cruise Control

Cruise Control: Maintains constant speed. Controls: ON/OFF (1), Resume/Increase (2), Set/Decrease (3), Cancel (4).

Smart Cruise Control: Maintains constant speed and vehicle distance. Vehicle-to-vehicle distance (1) activates with cruise speed (2). Distance is adjustable.

To switch between Smart Cruise Control (SCC) and standard Cruise Control (CC), press and hold the vehicle distance button for over 2 seconds.

Hybrid Driving Tips

Maximize fuel economy: Check tire pressure, roll windows up, maintain vehicle, turn A/C off. Set headlights to AUTO or OFF. Use DRIVER ONLY button when appropriate. Drive in an eco-friendly manner and maintain EV Mode indicator.

Driving suggestions to improve fuel economy: Drive smoothly, accelerate moderately, maintain speed with traffic, maintain safe driving distance.

Before Delivery: Set tire pressure (LF, RF, RR, LR). Verify vehicle is clean, in good condition, free of chips/scratches. Clean windshield and back window. Ensure floor mats are snapped into place.
