One Vehicle. Three Different Powertrains.

Hyundai introduces the IONIQ, a groundbreaking vehicle built on a single platform that supports three alternative powertrains. Its modern, aerodynamic design is a hallmark across all versions. The core philosophy remains consistent: electromobility should deliver the dynamism and comfort that makes driving a pleasure.

IONIQ Plug-in-Hybrid

Starting in 2017, the IONIQ Plug-in-Hybrid joined the lineup, combining the advantages of the IONIQ Hybrid with a minimum of 50 kilometers of emission-free electric driving. It can be charged via an external power source.

IONIQ Hybrid

The Hyundai IONIQ Hybrid seamlessly integrates a highly efficient petrol engine with a high-torque electric motor, paired with a sporty dual-clutch transmission for economical and comfortable driving.

IONIQ Elektro

The IONIQ Elektro is powered by a high-performance, high-torque electric motor that draws energy from a powerful Lithium-Polymer battery, enabling up to 280 kilometers of emission-free driving.

Combined power consumption: 11.5 kWh/100 km; Combined CO2 emission: 0 g/km; Efficiency class: A+.

Inspiring Design. With Passion.

The new IONIQ Elektro captivates from every angle with its elegant, sleek, and stylish appearance. Its flowing lines and balanced proportions create a harmonious blend of aesthetic design and efficient aerodynamics. Specially developed lightweight alloy wheels contribute to its excellent aerodynamic performance. The distinctive, contrasting grille frames the dynamically shaped LED headlights¹, and the front bumper is accented by striking LED daytime running lights and characteristic copper or silver trim.

The Future is Emission-Free. Now.

The IONIQ Elektro makes emission-free, environmentally conscious driving a daily reality. With a drag coefficient of just 0.24 and an innovative electric powertrain, it delivers exhilarating driving pleasure. It is also a well-thought-out, practical five-seater, making every journey, short or long, an experience.

Charging Options:

  • Standard Charging
  • Fast Charging

LED Headlights¹

A win-win solution: LED headlights provide superior illumination for better night vision while consuming less energy than conventional headlights.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go Function

Located behind the Hyundai emblem on the aerodynamic grille is the sensor for the standard adaptive cruise control system with distance and stop-and-go functionality.

Charging Ports

The vehicle is equipped with a CCS charging port featuring fast-charging capability up to 100 kW. 80% of the battery capacity can be recharged in approximately 23 minutes. Standard charging via a Type 2 connector or a Schuko plug is also supported.

¹ Optional

Innovative Thinking. Electrifying Performance.

The inspiring design of the IONIQ Elektro is complemented by an extremely quiet, fully electric powertrain. The high-torque electric motor provides impressive acceleration from a standstill. The total output can be adjusted during driving through the modes – Eco, Normal, or Sport. When coasting or braking, the electric motor regenerates energy to recharge the battery.

Driving Modes: ECO, NORMAL, and SPORT

The NORMAL mode is enhanced by an ECO mode that maximizes energy efficiency, and a SPORT mode. In SPORT mode, an additional 30 Nm of torque is available, bringing the total maximum to 295 Nm.

Brake Energy Regeneration Control

Two shift paddles conveniently located on the steering wheel allow for control over brake energy regeneration.

Electronic Shifting (Shift by Wire)

Intuitively arranged buttons on the center console simplify control of the most important driving functions.

Intelligent Engineering. Surprising Solutions.

The carefully adapted components of the electric powertrain deliver excellent driving characteristics and practical range for everyday use.

Lithium-Polymer Battery

Thanks to its high energy density, the lightweight, compact 28-kWh battery provides higher performance and greater range. Its placement in the vehicle floor lowers the center of gravity, positively impacting handling. The battery comes with an 8-year warranty.*

* 8-year warranty for the high-voltage battery or up to 200,000 km, whichever comes first (2 years for the starter battery without mileage limitation).

High Torque at the Wheels

The electric motor's power is transmitted through a single-stage reduction gear, ensuring exceptionally high torque is available when needed.

Range¹

Up to 280 kilometers of emission-free driving – making daily commutes and weekend trips equally effortless. The available range is clearly displayed on the instrument cluster and also visually on the navigation map.

High Strength, Low Weight

The intelligent use of lightweight aluminum and high-strength steel results in a robust construction that ensures high stability and enables sporty, agile handling.

Electric Motor

The high-performance electric motor delivers 120 PS and a maximum torque of 295 Nm from a standstill, providing impressive acceleration, especially at lower speeds.

¹ Maximum driving distance and battery range depend on individual driving style, weather, and road conditions. Battery charging time and speed depend on the electrical output of the charging station. The fast-charging option provides an 80% charge within 23 minutes (100 kW).

Puristic Style. Functional Variety.

The spacious interior of the IONIQ Elektro welcomes drivers and passengers with a modern, uncluttered design. This design principle is evident in the intuitive and easy-to-use instruments and controls with a pleasant tactile feel. The sport steering wheel and characteristic colored trim elements contribute to a sporty look.

Digital Instrument Cluster

The high-resolution color display shows various information such as speed, battery charge status, and energy consumption. The design and color of the 7-inch display reflect the selected driving mode (Eco, Normal, or Sport).

Wireless Smartphone Charging¹

Compatible smartphones can be charged wirelessly.**

** Incompatible smartphones require an adapter for wireless charging.

Well Connected

The centrally located 8-inch touchscreen of the radio navigation system provides access to a wide range of connectivity features. Apple CarPlay*, Android Auto*, and LIVE Services ensure entertainment and information on every journey.

Advanced Safety. Intelligent Technology.

In addition to protection from 7 airbags, occupants are safeguarded by a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies. Cameras, radar, and ultrasonic sensors help keep the IONIQ Elektro safely on track.

Lane Keeping Assist

Warns the driver upon unintentional lane departure and applies steering correction if necessary.

Diagram: Lane Keeping Assist showing a car within lane markings with a blue arrow indicating steering correction.

Blind Spot Assist¹

Radar sensors detect approaching vehicles when changing lanes. The "Rear Cross Traffic Alert" function uses the same sensors to detect approaching vehicles when reversing.

¹ Optional

Seven Airbags

Occupants are protected by a total of seven airbags, including a driver's knee airbag.

Autonomous Emergency Braking

If the Autonomous Emergency Braking system detects a potential hazard from other vehicles or pedestrians, it first issues a visual and audible warning and then initiates partial or full braking in an emergency.

Diagram: Autonomous Emergency Braking showing a car detecting a pedestrian and initiating braking.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go Function

Maintains a set distance from the vehicle ahead by adjusting speed. In stop-and-go traffic, the set distance is continuously maintained. Restarting after a stop is initiated by light pressure on the accelerator pedal.
