8. Important Notes

To reduce false alarms, please note the following:

  1. Do not install the camera in a position facing strong lights, mirrors, windows, or swimming pools.
  2. Do not place the camera too close to any area with busy traffic.
  3. Keep the camera away from outlets, including air conditioner vents, humidifier outlets, and heat transfer vents of projectors.
  4. Keep the camera at least 1 meter away from any wireless devices to avoid interference, such as microwave stoves and Wi-Fi routers.

9. Monitoring Area

  1. It is not suggested to install the camera vertically towards moving objects; otherwise, it may not detect motion events or cause delay.
  2. It is suggested to make the angle between the PIR Sensor and detected objects more than 10 degrees.
  3. The camera motion sensor is much more sensitive to side-to-side movement across its field of view than to movement directly toward or away from the camera.

Visual Description: Diagrams illustrating optimal camera placement for motion detection. One diagram shows a camera mounted at an angle, indicating a 'BEST DETECTION' zone (green) for side-to-side movement and a 'POOR' detection zone (red) for direct movement. It specifies a 6ft minimum and 32ft maximum detection range. Other diagrams show examples of 'It's best!!!' (10-15° angle), 'Too great' (vertical angle), and 'Too small' (horizontal angle) installations, indicating whether they 'cover' or 'not cover' the detection area effectively.

12. PIR Motion Detection

12.1 Motion Detection Alarm Setting

Motion detection sensitivity can be adjusted from 1 to 10.

Visual Description: Three smartphone screen images. The first shows the live view with a 'Settings' icon. The second shows the 'Device Information' menu with 'Alarm Management' highlighted. The third shows the 'Alarm Management' screen with a sensitivity slider (1-10) and options for 'Alarm Working Mode' and 'Alert Plan'.

SensitivityDetecting Distance (For moving and living objects)
LOW: 1-313-16ft (4-5 meters)
MID: 4-716-23ft (5-8 meters)
HIGH: 8-1023-42ft (8-13 meters)

NOTE: The higher the sensitivity, the longer the distance the PIR can detect. Accordingly, the battery will drain faster.

12.2 Alarm Notification

This camera is an event recording camera and does not support 24/7 recording; it is only triggered when body motion is detected. System reactions include:

  1. Alarm notifications with sounds from the App.
  2. Pictures/videos automatically stored in Micro SD Card or Cloud.

12.3 Record/Playback/Delete

  1. On the 'MESSAGES' page, click 'Alarm Messages' to view all listed records.
  2. Click the following buttons to playback or delete.
  3. All screenshots or manually recorded videos on the live/history/cloud page will be saved in Pictures & Videos. Files can be saved to the phone Album or shared directly.

Visual Description: Two smartphone screen images illustrating alarm messages and playback. The first screen shows the 'Messages' tab with 'Alarm Messages' listed. The second screen shows a list of motion detection events with timestamps, allowing users to playback alarm videos, preview snapshots, and delete history.

13. Power Saving Settings

13.1 Alarm Interval

This function prevents repeated alarms for the same event. Users can choose different alarm interval lengths. For example, if the interval is 5 minutes and the camera is triggered at 08:00, an alarm message will be received, but no new alarm push will occur in the next 5 minutes, even if motion detection continues.

NOTE: This function is off by default and can be set as needed.

13.2 Recording Time

Users can choose a different recording length. If the recording length is set to 20 seconds, then after the camera is triggered, the 20 seconds of alarm video can be viewed in the history of cloud playback.

Visual Description: Three smartphone screen images showing power saving settings. The first shows 'Device Information' menu. The second shows 'Alarm Management' with sensitivity and alarm working mode settings. The third shows 'Custom Mode' with options for 'Day Detection', 'Night Detection', 'Recording Time' (10, 20, 30 seconds), and 'Alarm Interval' (Off, 2, 5, 10 minutes).

13.3 Alarm Plan

Users can set a weekly/daily alarm schedule. If the camera's working hours are set from 0:00 to 1:00, the camera will only be triggered and record alarm video during this time period.

NOTE: The alarm schedule can be set for up to 4 time periods.

Visual Description: Three smartphone screen images illustrating alarm plan settings. The first shows the 'Alarm Management' screen. The second shows 'Set the Time Period' with options to select start/end times and specific days (Mon-Sun). The third shows 'Time Period Setting' for defining the alarm period.

14. Battery Management

  1. The camera has a built-in high-capacity battery, which can be used for 2-3 months, assuming the camera wakes up 15 times per day and plays video for 10 minutes each day.

NOTE: Battery durability depends on how frequently the camera is woken up. The more it wakes up, the faster the battery drains. It is recommended to lower the 'Motion Detection' sensitivity or turn it off occasionally.

  1. When power is less than 20%, the App will send reminding messages for timely charging.
  2. Charge the camera with a DC 5V 2A charger until it is fully charged (after 6-8 hours).

Visual Description: A diagram showing the back of the ZUMIMALL camera connected to a power outlet via a USB cable. Text labels indicate: 'Light in Red: Charging' and 'Light in Blue: 100% Charged', referring to the camera's LED indicator.

15. Solar Panel

Visual Description: A diagram illustrating the optimal angle for a solar panel based on hemisphere. It shows the sun's path and two solar panels, one in the Northern Hemisphere and one in the Southern Hemisphere, both angled towards the sun. The ideal angle is stated as 'The Local Latitude ± 5°'.

Step 1: Placement

Find a location with sunlight for most of the day and adjust the angle to ensure maximum exposure. The ZUMIMALL solar panel requires a few hours of direct sunlight to convert solar energy into electricity. Conversion efficiency is affected by weather conditions, seasonal changes, and geographic locations.

Step 2: Mounting

Mount the bracket using the mounting template and the screws provided in the package.

Step 3: Securing the Panel

Slot the solar panel into the bracket and ensure it is secure.

Step 4: Adjusting the Angle

Loosen the adjusting control on the bracket and adjust the angle of the solar panel to receive direct sunlight, then retighten the adjusting control to secure the setting. A 360° adjustment is possible.

Step 5: Connecting the Panel

Connect the solar panel to the ZUMIMALL Camera with the micro USB cable.

Important Notes:

  1. Ensure there is NO blocking on the solar panel. Energy harvesting efficiency drops drastically even when a small portion of the solar panel is blocked.
  2. Do not install the solar panel completely horizontally. This can lead to dust and debris accumulation. It is advised to install the solar panel angularly to receive direct sunlight.
  3. Wipe the solar panel regularly to remove dust or debris.

16. Multi Device Management

16.1 Multi Camera Management

Visual Description: Two smartphone screen images. The first shows the app's 'Home' screen with multiple camera feeds, indicating the ability to 'Click '+' to add more devices' and 'Watch 4 cameras live at the same time'. The second screen shows a single camera's live view.

16.2 Multi-User Sharing

NOTE: One App account (A) cannot log in on multiple devices at the same time. One camera cannot be connected to multiple App accounts either. However, a camera can be shared from account A to account B.

Share steps:

  1. User B downloads the ZUMIMALL App to their phone and creates a new account.
  2. User A clicks 'Add' in the App on their phone.
  3. User A scans User B's QR Code or inputs User B's account ID.
  4. User B accepts the share and refreshes the device page.

Visual Description: A series of smartphone screen images illustrating the multi-user sharing process. Screens show: 'Device Share' option, 'Select Device' for sharing, 'Enter account' for sharing, 'My QR Code' for scanning, 'Device Share' permissions, 'Messages' for sharing requests, and 'Device Share' acceptance prompt.
