Shift knob (aluminum and leather) 6MT Application and Instruction Manual

Thank you for purchasing this product. This document explains how to apply and handle the product. It also provides important cautions to be observed. Safety Cautions

Warning

• Do not alter or modify this product. Doing so could cause serious damage to the product.
• To ensure your safety, always stop the engine and turn off the ignition before performing work.
• Please attach bolt and nut securely to the vehicle.
• After installing this product, inspect it after traveling 100 km (62.1 miles) or regularly, and retighten it if necessary.
• If you feel an anomaly such as an unusual noise or vibration, immediately stop the car in a safe place and stop using. If the anomaly persists, have the vehicle inspected and repaired as soon as possible. Continuing to use the vehicle may lead to damage or an accident.
• If the product undergoes degradation with time, is damaged, or is subjected to a severe shock, such as the shock from a traffic accident, promptly discontinue its use.

Caution

• These products will not dramatically enhance the critical marginal maneuverability itself. Make sure that you always drive carefully.
• Do not use this product on vehicles other than the vehicles for which it is intended. Do not use the product for purposes other than that for which it is intended. Doing so could result in damage to the product or cause an accident.
• When working on the vehicle, follow the instructions in the appropriate Service Manual issued by SUBARU Co., Ltd., and obey the warnings and cautions stated here.
• If the product receives a strong impact due to deterioration, damage or accident, the original performance cannot be maintained, so stop using it immediately.

Installation Procedure

1. Part number and applicable model

* : S4 6MT (size: 12mm (0.47inch), pitch: 1.25mm (0.049 inch))

2. Component part

*Please check the number of parts. In case, please contact your dealer if there is a shortage or differences.

3. Specification

The ornament on the top is an alumite applied to the aluminum pressed product, and the pattern and STI letters are dented and colored. In addition, the upper part of the knob body is wrapped in denple black leather, and the lower part is a 6MT dedicated shift knob that has been blasted using aluminum material and finished with alumite treatment.

4. Work procedure

1. Remove the genuine shift knob.
2. Tighten the STI shift knob to a position where it can be securely fixed. (As a guide, tighten the shift knob comfortably and then tighten it about half a turn to one turn from where it stopped.) [Warning] For your safety, be sure to stop the engine and turn off the ignition.
3. If the shift pattern on the top of the shift knob does not face the front, adjust in the additional tightening direction.

Handling Precautions

• The shift knob may become hot or cold depending on the temperature and sunshine conditions. In that case, please wear driving gloves.
• If the shift knob is tightened more than necessary, the threaded part may be damaged.
