Assembly Steps
Step 1-6: Drawer Assembly & Runner Attachment
Begin by attaching the drawer runners (labeled CL for left and CR for right) to the main unit's side panels using screws and cam lock screws. Assemble the drawer boxes by connecting the drawer sides, back, and bottom panels using cam locks and screws. Attach drawer runners to the assembled drawer sides. The anti-tip bracket is also attached to one of the main unit's panels during this stage.
Step 7-12: Main Unit Frame Construction
Connect the main unit's side panels to the bottom panel using dowels and cam locks. Slide the back panels into place and secure them with cam locks and cam lock screws. Attach the drawer runners to the inside of the main unit's side panels using cam locks and screws.
Step 13-20: Drawer Final Assembly
Attach drawer support rails and drawer fronts. Connect the drawer sides to the drawer fronts and backs using dowels and screws. Secure the drawer back panels and bottom panels with cam locks and screws.
Step 21-24: Drawer Insertion
Attach the drawer front panels. Insert the assembled drawers into the main unit by aligning them with the runners. Secure the drawers using cam locks as indicated.
Step 25-30: Anti-Tip Device Installation & Drawer Adjustment
Attach the anti-tip bracket to the top of the main unit using a screw. Adjust the drawer runners for smooth operation. The critical step is securing the unit to the wall using the provided anti-tip device.
Step 28: Wall Mounting the Anti-Tip Device
For Solid Walls (A) and Hollow Walls (B): Drill holes using a Ø 5/16" (8 mm) drill bit. Insert wall plugs into the holes. Secure the bracket to the wall using screws (approx. 2 3/4" or 70 mm length).
For Solid Wood (C): Drill pilot holes using a Ø 1/8" (3 mm) drill bit. Secure the bracket directly to the wood using screws (approx. 1 1/4" or 30 mm length), without plugs.
If you are uncertain about wall type or installation, seek professional advice.
Step 29: Securing the Unit to the Wall
Connect the anti-tip strap or bracket to the unit and then securely fasten it to the wall bracket previously installed. This step is crucial for preventing tipover.
Step 30: Final Drawer Runner Adjustments
Make any final adjustments to the drawer runners to ensure drawers slide smoothly.
Step 31-41: Final Assembly
Continue assembling any remaining drawer components and the main unit structure. This includes attaching top panels, securing all connections with appropriate fasteners, and ensuring all parts are correctly aligned. The final steps involve inserting all drawers and confirming the unit is stable and secure.
The fully assembled STORKLINTA chest of drawers is now ready for use. Always ensure the anti-tip device remains securely fastened.
