Parts Overview
The package contains various components including side panels, back panel, top panel, drawer components, drawer runners, handles, and all necessary screws, dowels, and fixings. Refer to the included parts list for specific item identification and quantities (e.g., 10096669, 118331, 101350, etc.).
Assembly Steps
Step 1: Attach Drawer Runners to Side Panels
Attach the drawer runners to the inner sides of the left (L) and right (R) cabinet panels using eight (8x) screws (part number 10048881).
Step 2: Attach Wall Mounting Brackets
Secure the wall mounting brackets (part number 106989) to the top of the side panels using two (2x) screws (part number 109049) and two (2x) wall plugs (part number 100823) for each bracket.
Step 3: Attach Back Panel to Side Panel
Connect the back panel to one of the side panels by inserting three (3x) dowels.
Step 4: Attach Second Side Panel
Attach the second side panel to the back panel.
Step 5: Attach Base Panel
Secure the base panel to the assembled side and back panels using four (4x) screws (part number 105811).
Step 6: Attach Top Panel
Place and secure the top panel onto the assembled frame.
Step 7: Attach Internal Support Rails
Attach the horizontal support rails to the inside of the cabinet frame using eight (8x) screws (part number 10046078).
Step 8: Attach Drawer Base Support Rails
Attach the drawer base support rails to the inside of the cabinet frame using eight (8x) screws (part number 10046078).
Step 9: Assemble Drawer Sides
Connect the drawer side panels to the drawer front and back panels using six (6x) dowels (part number 101350).
Step 10: Insert Drawer Bottom
Slide the drawer bottom panel into the grooves of the assembled drawer sides.
Step 11: Attach Drawer Runners to Drawer Sides
Attach the drawer runners to the assembled drawer sides using six (6x) screws (part number 118331).
Step 12: Attach Drawer Handles/Knobs
Attach drawer handles or knobs to the drawer sides using two (2x) dowels (part number 101350).
Step 13: Connect Drawer Fronts
Connect the drawer front panels to the assembled drawer boxes.
Step 14: Insert Drawer Bottom (Drawer Box)
Ensure the drawer bottom is correctly seated within the drawer box.
Step 15: Attach Drawer Handles to Drawer Fronts
Secure the drawer handles to the drawer fronts using six (6x) screws (part number 113434).
Step 16: Attach Outer Drawer Runners to Cabinet
Attach the outer parts of the drawer runners to the main cabinet frame using four (4x) screws (part number 151706).
Step 17: Insert Drawer Dowels
Insert seven (7x) dowels (part number 101350) into the designated holes on the drawer sides.
Step 18: Attach Drawer Fronts to Drawer Boxes
Attach the drawer fronts to the assembled drawer boxes using four (4x) screws (part number 151706).
Step 19: Secure Main Cabinet Frame
Secure the main cabinet frame using four (4x) screws (part number 159991).
Step 20: Attach Wheels/Feet
Attach the wheels or feet to the base of the unit using four (4x) screws (part number 190459).
Step 21: Insert Drawers
Align the drawer runners on the drawers with the runners inside the cabinet and slide the drawers in. Ensure they engage correctly with the locking mechanism.
Step 22: Final Drawer Insertion
Complete the insertion of all drawers into the unit.
Step 23: Wall Mounting
Secure the furniture to the wall using the provided tip-over restraints. The supplied screws and plugs are suitable for most solid (A) and hollow (B) walls. For solid wood (C), use screws without plugs. If unsure, seek professional advice.
Wall Mounting Details:
- For Solid Walls (A): Use Ø 8 mm (5/16") drill bit.
- For Hollow Walls (B): Use Ø 8 mm (5/16") drill bit.
- For Solid Wood (C): Use Ø 3 mm (1/8") drill bit.
Step 24: Attach Wall Restraint Strap to Unit
Attach the wall restraint strap bracket to the top of the unit using two (2x) screws (part number 100823).
Step 25: Assemble Drawer Box Components
Assemble the drawer box sides and insert the drawer bottom panel.
Step 26: Attach Drawer Fronts
Slide the drawer front panel into place on the assembled drawer box.
Step 27: Secure Drawer Fronts
Secure the drawer front to the drawer box using four (4x) screws (part number 10096669).
Step 28: Attach Drawer Handles
Attach the drawer handles to the drawer fronts using four (4x) screws (part number 120076).
Step 29: Attach Drawer Knobs
Attach the drawer knobs to the drawer sides using one (1x) dowel/fixing (part number 106603).
Step 30: Insert Drawers into Unit
Slide the assembled drawers into the cabinet, aligning them with the runners.
Step 31: Drawer Locking Mechanism
Ensure drawers are correctly inserted and engage with the locking mechanism. A "Click!" sound indicates proper engagement.
Step 32: Final Drawer Insertion
Complete the insertion of all drawers.
Step 33: Final Drawer Insertion
Final check of drawer insertion.
Step 34: Final Drawer Securing
Ensure drawers are correctly inserted and engage with the locking mechanism. A "Click!" sound indicates proper engagement.
Step 35: Completed Unit
The TONSTAD chest of drawers is now fully assembled.
