Important Safety Warnings

General Warnings

WARNING: Failure to follow these warnings and the instructions could result in serious injury or death.

This product, including side rails, must be fully erected prior to use. Make sure latches are secure.

Suffocation Hazard

Infants have suffocated:

  • In gaps between a mattress too small or too thick and product sides.
  • On soft bedding.

Use only the mattress provided by Baby Trend®. NEVER add a mattress, pillow, comforter, or padding. The playard mattress/pad is specially designed to prevent suffocation and must meet safety standards (at least 40 in. long, 28 in. wide, and not more than 1 in. thick). Using a thicker or different sized mattress/pad may allow a child's head to get between the mattress/pad and the side of the playard, causing suffocation.

To reduce the risk of SIDS, pediatricians recommend healthy infants be placed on their back to sleep, unless otherwise advised by your physician. ALWAYS place child on back to sleep.

NEVER use plastic shipping bags or other plastic film as mattress covers not sold and intended for that purpose, as they can cause suffocation. NEVER use a water mattress with this product.

Fall Hazard

Always check that the bassinet is securely locked on the base/stand by pulling upwards on the bassinet.

Strangulation Hazard

WARNING: NEVER LEAVE INFANT IN PRODUCT WITH SIDES DOWN. Infant may roll into space between pad and loose mesh side, causing suffocation.

Strings can cause strangulation! NEVER place items with a string around a child's neck, such as hood strings or pacifier cords. NEVER suspend strings over the playard or attach strings to toys.

NEVER place the playard near a window where cords from blinds or drapes can strangle a child.

Child can become entrapped and die when improvised netting or covers are placed on top of a playard. Never add such items to confine a child in the playard.

NEVER leave child in product with sides lowered. Be sure sides are in raised and locked position whenever child is in product.

Product Use Limitations

See playard floor and side rails for specific warnings.

The playard, including side rails, must be fully erected prior to use. Make sure latches are secure.

Discontinue use of the product when child is able to climb out or has reached the height of 35 in. (890 mm), or weighs 30 lbs. (13.6 kg), whichever comes first.

When child is able to pull to standing position, remove bumper pads, large toys, and other objects that could serve as steps for climbing out.

ALWAYS provide the supervision necessary for the continued safety of your child. When used for playing, never leave child unattended. Child in crib must be under supervision at all times.

ALWAYS ensure that the playard, changing table, and napper are safe by checking regularly, before placing the child in it, that every part is properly secured in place.

NEVER leave the Bassinet in place when child is in playard.

NEVER leave Changing Table in place when child is in the playard.

NEVER leave Napper in place when child is in the playard. Only one child can use the Playard/Nursery Center at any time.

NEVER use this product if there are any loose or missing fasteners, loose joints, broken parts, or torn mesh/fabric. Check before assembly and periodically during use. Contact Baby Trend® Customer Service at 1-800-328-7363 for replacement parts, repair, or instructions. NEVER substitute parts.

This product is not intended for commercial use.

Assembly Instructions

To Assemble Playard

IMPORTANT: To ensure safe operation of your playard, please follow these instructions carefully. Please keep these instructions for future reference.

IMPORTANT: Before assembly and each use, inspect this product for damaged hardware, loose joints, missing parts, or sharp edges. NEVER use if any parts are missing or broken.

IMPORTANT: Adult assembly is required.

ATTENTION: Playard must be fully assembled and securely locked before installing or using other accessories.

1. Unzip bag and remove Playard frame. Undo fasten straps and set the Mattress aside. Do not push center down yet.

2. Erect top rails one at a time, pulling sharply upwards. Ensure tubes latch and rails are rigid. The center must be raised while locking rails. If one rail locks but the other does not, unlock the rail by squeezing the center release and try again.

3. Once all four top rails are locked, push down on the center handle. The center mechanism automatically locks. Test each top rail by pushing down slightly to confirm it is rigid and secure.

4. Place the Mattress on the floor with the padded side facing up.

5. Insert hook & loop fasteners on the underside of the Mattress through the floor slots. Fasten to the underside of the floor to prevent mattress movement. The center handle MUST remain raised while locking side rails. If the center is not raised, rails will not lock.

6. To operate brakes on wheels, press downward on brake levers. To release, lift lever upward.

7. Release hook and loop fastener holding the Mattress. Do not unlock top rails yet; center of floor must be raised before top rails unlock. Rotate center handle counter-clockwise 90 degrees and raise center as high as top rails. Gather legs and wheels towards the center.

8. Locate rail latch release in the center and bottom of each rail. Squeeze lever with two hands until rail releases tubes, then push down. If top rail(s) do not release completely, DO NOT FORCE. Lift center of floor higher. Both tubes must be released for the top rail to fold.

9. Gather four corners and center tightly. Wrap Mattress around frame with padded side inward.

10. Secure hook and loop fasteners by feeding them through loops on the Mattress end and folding them back. Place folded playard into carry bag.

To Assemble Bassinet

ATTENTION: Playard must be fully assembled and securely locked before installing or using the bassinet feature. Remove mattress from playard bottom to use inside bassinet.

11. Connect opposing Mattress Support Tubes attached to the bottom of the Bassinet. Ensure tubes are connected.

12. Position Bassinet over and down into the fully assembled Playard. Secure by pushing down firmly on each plastic support clip until snapped into place.

13. Place Mattress into Bassinet with padded side upward. Fasten tabs underneath Mattress to secure.

To Assemble Changing Table

WARNING FALL HAZARD: Children have suffered serious injuries after falling from changing tables. Stay within arm's reach. Always secure changing table to playard frame.

SUFFOCATION HAZARD: Babies have suffocated while sleeping on changing tables. Changing tables are not designed for safe sleep. Never allow baby to sleep on changing table. Never leave changing table in place when child is in playard. Always flip table down when not in use. Use safety belt. Discontinue use when child begins to push up, reaches 25 in. (635 mm) height, weighs 15 lbs. (6.8 kg), or is 3 months old. Do not use if damaged. Always use restraint system.

14. Connect two Long Curved Bars together. Insert bars into Changing Table fabric. Slide bars around inside sleeve. Connect short bars to ends of long bars, ensuring knobs face down and in the same direction.

15. Insert Connector Knob Prongs into playard corners. Turn knobs counter-clockwise to lock. Flip Changing Table onto Playard. Snap two buttons on flap down.

16. Locate hook and loop fasteners on bottom of changing table and inside playard side rails.

17. Flip changing table into upper position.

18. Secure changing table to playard frame by fastening hook and loop fasteners on underside of table to side rails.

TO USE CHANGING TABLE RESTRAINT SYSTEM: Place child on table, ensure hands/arms are clear. Bring restraint around child's waist and clip buckle. Tighten strap snugly, but do not over-tighten. To remove, unsnap buckle.

TO REMOVE CHANGING TABLE: Flip table to outside of playard. Unsnap fabric flap. Twist Connector Knobs clockwise to unlock. Remove table and disconnect short bars from curved bar. Remove curved bar from sleeve.

Parent Organizer Assembly

21. Parent Organizer: Position hook with hooked end facing rear. Press hook firmly into slot until it snaps into place. Connect Organizer/Diaper Stacker to Playard by sliding two connecting clips over an open portion of the top rail.

Napper Assembly

WARNING: Follow all warnings and instructions.

FALL HAZARD: Stop using if infant wiggles out, turns over, head touches upper edge, reaches 22 in. (558.8 mm) height, or weighs more than 12 lbs. (5.44 kg) (approx. 3 months).

FALL HAZARD: Always check napper is securely locked on base/stand.

SUFFOCATION HAZARD: Use only manufacturer pad. Never add pillow, comforter, or another mattress. Never use napper on playard unless securely attached. Never use napper in different product. Always place child on back. Never use plastic bags as mattress covers. Use bassinet with only one child. Never place child under bassinet.

22. Pull napper fabric flaps up at top and bottom. Insert left napper frame bar into left sleeve, ensuring bar is curved upward. Repeat for right side.

23. Connect bottom right and left napper frame bars. Ensure supports are seated and locked. Pull bottom fabric flap down and secure.

24. At top, insert top clip with longest side outward into right and left napper frame bars, slide inward until locked. Connect top right and left napper frame bars. Ensure supports are seated and locked. Pull top fabric flap down and secure.

Toy Bar Installation

25. Push down on toy bar ends to secure onto frame top. Pull canopy over rear of napper. Adjust angle by pushing bar back.
