Important Safety Warnings

General Warnings

WARNING: Failure to follow instructions could result in serious injury or death.

IMPORTANT: To ensure safe operation, follow instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.

IMPORTANT: Before assembly and each use, inspect the product for damaged hardware, loose joints, missing parts, or sharp edges. NEVER use if parts are missing or broken.

IMPORTANT: Adult assembly is required. Keep children away during unpacking and assembly.

Suffocation Hazard

Babies have suffocated:

  • In gaps between a mattress too small or too thick and product sides.
  • On soft bedding.

NEVER add a mattress, pillow, comforter, or padding. Use only the mattress provided by Baby Trend®.

The playard mattress/pad is specially designed to prevent suffocation. It has a solid base, specific dimensions, and is less than one inch thick to meet safety standards. Using a thicker or different sized mattress/pad may allow a child's head to get trapped, causing suffocation.

To reduce the risk of SIDS, pediatricians recommend placing infants on their back to sleep, unless advised otherwise by a physician.

ALWAYS place child on back to sleep.

NEVER use plastic shipping bags or other plastic film as mattress covers not sold and intended for that purpose, as they can cause suffocation.

NEVER use a water mattress with this product.

Strangulation Hazard

WARNING: NEVER LEAVE INFANT IN PRODUCT WITH SIDES DOWN. Infant may roll into space between pad and loose mesh side, causing suffocation.

  • Strings can cause strangulation! DO NOT place items with strings around a child's neck (e.g., hood strings, pacifier cords). DO NOT suspend strings over the playard or attach strings to toys.
  • NEVER place the playard near a window where cords from blinds or drapes can strangle a child.

Playard Floor and Side Rails Warnings

  • Child can become entrapped and die if improvised netting or covers are placed on top of a playard. Never add such items.
  • ALWAYS ensure the full-size bassinet is fully assembled on the playard before using accessories like the changing table or Rock-A-bye bassinet.
  • NEVER leave child in product with sides lowered. Ensure sides are raised and locked when child is in the product.
  • The playard, including side rails, must be fully erected and latches secure before use.
  • Discontinue use when child can climb out or reaches 35 in. (890 mm) or 30 lb. (14 kg).
  • When child can pull to standing, remove bumper pads, large toys, or other step-like objects.
  • NEVER leave Rock-A-Bye bassinet in place when child is in the playard. Only one child at a time.
  • ALWAYS provide necessary supervision. Never leave child unattended.
  • Ensure playard, changing table, and bassinet are safe by checking regularly that all parts are properly secured.
  • NEVER leave the Full-Size bassinet or Changing Table in place when child is in the playard.

Fall Hazard Warnings

WARNING-FALL HAZARD: Children have suffered serious injuries after falling from changing tables. Falls can happen quickly.

  • STAY within arm's reach of your child.
  • ALWAYS secure the changing unit/pad to the support frame per manufacturer's instructions.
  • Changing tables are not designed for safe sleep. NEVER allow a baby to sleep on a changing table.
  • Always remove the changing table when not in use. Use the safety belt when children are on the changing table.
  • Discontinue use when child begins to push up on hands/knees or reaches 22 in. (558.8 mm), 15 lb. (6.8 kg), or 3 months old, whichever comes first.
  • Do not use if damaged or broken.
  • ALWAYS use the restraint system and adjust the belt for a snug fit.

FALL HAZARD: To prevent falls, stop using the product when infant:

  • Begins to wiggle out of position, turn over, touches the upper edge, reaches 25 in. (635 mm), 15 lb. (6.8 kg), or approximately 3 months old.
  • ALWAYS use the restraint system if provided.

Assembly Instructions

To Assemble Playard

ATTENTION: Playard must be fully assembled and securely locked before installing or using other accessories.

  1. Unzip the bag and remove the Playard frame. Undo the fasten straps and set the Mattress aside. DO NOT push the center down yet.
  2. Top rails must be fully locked before lowering the center. Pull up one rail at a time with one hand on each side. Do not pull from the middle where the center latch release is located. Ensure both tubes latch in place and each rail is rigid. IMPORTANT: The center must be raised while locking the rails. If you experience difficulty, unlock by squeezing the center release and try again. Contact Customer Service if issues persist.
  3. Once all four (4) top rails are locked, push down on the center handle. The center mechanism automatically locks. IMPORTANT: Test each top rail by pushing down slightly to confirm rigidity and secure placement before use.
  4. Place the Mattress on the floor of the Playard with the padded side facing up.
  5. Insert the hook & loop fasteners from the underside of the mattress through the slots in the playard floor. Fasten them to the underside of the playard floor to prevent the mattress from moving.
  6. To roll or move the playard, lift upward from the wheels' opposing side. To station, set all 4 legs evenly on the ground. NOTE: Always use wheels to move the playard. Never move with a child inside.

Folding Playard

  1. Release the hook and loop fastener holding the Mattress from underneath the Playard floor or Bassinet. Set the mattress aside. DO NOT unlock top rails yet; the center handle must be raised first.
  2. Rotate the center handle counter-clockwise 90 degrees and raise the center as high as the top rails. Gather the Legs and Wheels together towards the center.
  3. Locate the rail latch release in the center and bottom side of each rail. Squeeze the lever with two hands until the rail releases the tubes, then push down. NOTE: If rails do not release completely, DO NOT FORCE. Forcing closure can break the plastic bottom support tube. Lift the center of the floor higher. Check for partially latched rails and squeeze the latch release.
  4. Gather all four (4) corners and the center together tightly. Wrap the Mattress around the Playard frame with the padded side facing inward.
  5. Secure the hooks and loop fasteners by feeding them through the loops on the mattress end, then fold them back onto themselves. Place the folded Playard into the carry bag, ensuring the handle aligns with the zipper opening.

To Assemble the Full-Size Bassinet

ATTENTION: Playard must be fully assembled and securely locked before installing or using the Full-size bassinet feature. You will need to remove the mattress from the bottom of the Playard.

  1. Connect opposing Mattress Support Tubes attached to the bottom of the Bassinet. Before placing the Mattress, ensure these tubes are connected.
  2. Position the Bassinet over and down into the fully assembled Playard. Secure by pushing down firmly on each plastic support clip until all are snapped into place.
  3. Place the Mattress into the Bassinet with the padded side facing upward.

TO REMOVE THE FULL-SIZE BASSINET: Remove Mattress from Bassinet. Disconnect Mattress Support Tubes. Unsnap all clips and lift Bassinet.

To Assemble Changing Table

ATTENTION: Playard and full-size bassinet must be fully assembled and securely locked before installing or using the changing table feature.

  1. Lay the changing table cover on a flat surface, back side up. Insert the 2 connector bars into the backside of the changing table covering.
  2. Attach the short bars with 2 connectors to the connector bars. Ensure clips face up. Insert push pins into connector bars, ensuring all pins click into place.
  3. Close the covering using hook and loop fasteners on the flap. Flip flaps over bars and fasten.

TO SECURE THE CHANGING TABLE TO THE PLAYARD:

  1. Locate the 4 clip fasteners on the bottom of the changing table.
  2. To attach, lower the changing table into the bassinet. Push down on the top and bottom clips to secure them to the Playard railing. Secure the two snaps on the strap to the Playard railing. NOTE: Do not use the changing table on the playard without the bassinet and securing the clips.

TO USE CHANGING TABLE RESTRAINT SYSTEM:

  1. Place child on table, ensuring hands/arms are clear of restraint. Bring restraint around child's waist and clip buckle ends together.
  2. Tighten strap snugly around child's waist. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
  3. To remove, unsnap the buckle. ATTENTION: NEVER use the changing table if damaged or broken.

TO REMOVE CHANGING TABLE: Unsnap from the playard. Locate all 4 clip/fasteners. Pull up on all 4 clips to release them from the playard frame.

Diaper Stacker

  1. Connect the diaper stacker to the playard by pressing the two connecting clips over the top rail of one of the playard's longer sides. NOTE: When using the full-size bassinet, clip directly onto the large bassinet clips.

To Assemble Removable Rock-A-Bye Bassinet

ATTENTION: Playard and full-size bassinet must be fully assembled and securely locked before installing or using the Rock-A-bye bassinet feature.

WARNING: Failure to follow warnings and instructions could result in death or serious injury.

SUFFOCATION HAZARD: Babies have suffocated on pillows, comforters, extra padding, or in gaps between mattresses/padding and product sides. NEVER add soft bedding or padding. Use ONLY the manufacturer-provided mattress.

ALWAYS place baby on back to sleep to reduce SIDS risk. If using a sheet, use only the one provided or specifically designed for the mattress.

FALL HAZARD: Do not use when infant pushes up on hands/knees, reaches 25 in. (635 mm), 15 lbs. (6.8 kg), or 3 months old. Strings can cause strangulation; keep strings away from child's neck and toys. Do not use if any part is broken, torn, or missing. Always use on the floor, never on an elevated surface.

FALL HAZARD: Stop using when infant wiggles out of position, turns over, touches upper edge, reaches 25 in. (635 mm), 15 lb. (6.8 kg), or approx. 3 months old. ALWAYS use restraint system if provided.

WARNING: Never leave child unattended. Possible entanglement injury with toys attached.

NEVER use Rock-A-Bye Bassinet in a different product. NEVER place child under the bassinet. NEVER store bassinet in playard while in use. Ensure playard, changing table, and bassinet are safe by regular checks.

To Fold Removable Rock-A-Bye Bassinet

WARNING: Care must be taken when folding/unfolding to prevent finger entrapment. CAUTION: Do not allow children near.

  1. Remove the Removable Bassinet from the Playard and place on a flat surface.
  2. Release canopy fabric and bassinet fabric from the frame. Pull bassinet fabric back to access the bottom. Press down on one end and pull the handle up until the support frame releases from the lock. Repeat for the other side.
  3. Pull support frames to the center until the bassinet folds.
  4. Lower canopy handle by pushing both side buttons while pushing the handle backward.
