For Installation of AMD AM4 Socket
Step One: Connecting the RGB LED Lighting
Plug in the connectors of the RGB LED Cable as illustrated.
After Installation: Two options to install the RGB lighting from the C350A block:
- Connect to a compatible Phanteks Case (see Phanteks.com for compatibility).
- Connect to a compatible motherboard featuring an RGB header, using the RGB Y-Splitter (see Phanteks.com for compatibility).
Step Two: Remove the Original Plastic Clamps
Use a Philips head screwdriver to remove the four screws (indicated in red). Remove the plastic clamps around the socket. Ensure the original AMD backplate remains in place. Verify that the 4 screw threads on the backplate align with the holes on the motherboard.
Step Three: Applying Thermal Paste
Clean the old thermal paste with a non-abrasive cloth. Apply a small amount of PH-NDC thermal paste to the center of the CPU.
Step Four: Installing the Socket Screws and Studs
Screw the socket screws into the AMD backplate and place a nylon stud onto each socket screw. Tighten the thumb screws by hand; do not use tools.
Step Five: Installing the Water Block to the Socket Screws
Align the thumb screws with the socket screws and tighten them by hand. Do not use tools.
Water Loop Setup Recommendations
Phanteks recommends the following steps before starting your water loop setup:
- Test all hardware to ensure it is in working condition.
- Plan your loop to optimize time.
- Flush and rinse water blocks with distilled water for a clean loop.
- Ensure all power is off and unplugged (at the power supply or hardware) before leak testing.
- Use paper towels under fittings and joints to catch potential leaks.
- With the fill port open, run the loop for approximately 24 hours to completely bleed air from the loop.
