Installation Guide
Step 1: Prepare the Door & Check Dimensions
- Ensure the door hole diameter is 2-1/8" (54mm) and the edge hole is 1" (25mm).
- Verify the backset is either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60mm or 70mm).
- The door thickness should be between 1-3/8" and 2" (35mm to 50mm) to prevent handle rotation failure.
- NOTE: Ensure the door frame is aligned with the door and free of obstructions.
Two Installation Methods
Method 1: For Doors with a Single Hole
This method applies to doors with a single hole where the existing handle can be replaced.
Method 2: For Doors with Two Holes
This method is for doors with separate holes for a deadbolt and a handle.
If this installation method does not fit your door, consider these alternatives:
- A. Remove the deadbolt, cover the hole with a Door Hole Cover Plate (not included), and install the lock.
- B. Remove the existing handle, lower the deadbolt, and install the Veise lock above it. Ensure a minimum distance of 1.57" (40mm) between the deadbolt and the Veise lock.
Step 2: Install the Latch & Strike
- Confirm the backset and adjust the Latch if necessary. The latch is adjustable for 2-3/8" (60mm) or 2-3/4" (70mm) backsets.
- For a 2-3/8" (60mm) backset, no adjustment is needed.
- For a 2-3/4" (70mm) backset, adjust the latch as shown in the diagrams.
- Install the Latch into the door, ensuring correct orientation.
- Install the Strike on the door frame. Ensure the hole in the door frame is at least 1" (25mm) deep.
Note: Use the provided latch for proper functionality. The hole for the latch mechanism on the door edge must be square, not diamond-shaped.
Step 3: Adjust the Handle Direction
Exterior Handle
The exterior handle can be adjusted for left-handed or right-handed doors. Ensure the handle moves freely, then tighten the Handle Screw (M) with the Hex Wrench.
Interior Handle
- Locate the Interior Handle and determine the correct installation direction for your door.
- Fix the handle on the left or right side as needed.
- Tighten the Handle Screw (M) with the Hex Wrench.
Step 4: Install Exterior Assembly
- Route the cable above the Latch and insert the Torque Blade through the slot in the Latch. Do not insert the Mechanical Key into the cylinder during installation.
- Install the Mounting Plate using the Mounting Plate Screws (J). Keep the plate parallel to the door edge. Do not overtighten the screws.
Step 5: Install Interior Assembly
- Disassemble the Battery Cover.
- Insert the cable connector into the socket securely. NOTE: Tuck excess cable into the socket to avoid obstructing screw holes or the cover.
- Attach the Interior Assembly to the Mounting Plate and tighten the four Interior Assembly Screws (K). NOTE: Use only the specified screws to prevent short circuits.
- Insert 4 new AA Alkaline batteries. NOTE: Do not mix old and new batteries or different brands.
- Replace the Battery Cover.
How to Reset
- Keep the door open and unlocked.
- Use the Reset Tool (L) to press and hold the Reset Button (RES) for 5 seconds.
- Continue holding the Reset Button until the voice prompt "Restored to factory settings" is heard.
Factory Default Settings:
- Master Code: 12345678
- Auto Lock: Enabled
- Silent Mode: Disabled
- Wrong Entry Limit: 10 times
- Shutdown Time: 3 mins

Troubleshooting
Fail to reset.
- Low battery: If the battery indicator light flashes continuously, replace all batteries with 4 new alkaline batteries.
- Perform the reset procedure again as described in the "How to Reset" section.
Exterior handle cannot be reversed.
- Ensure the handle rotates smoothly. If not, contact Veise customer service.
- If the handle rotates correctly, check if the Handle Screw (M) is properly attached. If missing, contact customer service.
- If the screw is present, rotate the handle 90 degrees left or right according to your door's opening direction. Align the screw hole and tighten the screw. A correctly installed handle should be firm and rebound when pressed.
Interior handle cannot be reversed.
- Ensure the interior handle is securely in place. Locate the screw hole and tighten the appropriate screw with the wrench.
- If installation cannot be completed, contact Veise customer service for assistance.
