Important Warnings and Cautions
WARNING: To prevent electric shock, make sure the lamp is not plugged in until all assembly steps are complete.
CAUTION: TIP HAZARD. DO NOT MOVE SHADE OR ACCESSORIES outside of the shaded area as shown in Figure 1. Shade and accessories must be kept within the shaded area and must align in the same forward-facing direction as the base.
Usable Area for Shade: The diagram indicates a specific "Usable area for shade" (Area útil para la pantalla / Zone sécuritaire pour l'abat-jour). Ensure the shade and any accessories remain within this designated zone and face forward, aligned with the base.
Lamp Assembly
- Make sure the lamp is not plugged into an electrical outlet.
- Remove wrench (F), bolt (E), and washers (D) from the plastic bag included in the box containing the base. Note: Washers (D) may be a single, solid washer.
- With the power cord aligned toward the rear of the base, firmly insert the stem of the lamp into the hole located in the top of the base.
- While holding the stem in the base, invert the lamp so the base is in the air.
- Insert the bolt (E) through the lock washer (D), then through the flat washer, and finally into the recessed hole in the bottom of the base.
- Using the enclosed wrench (F), tighten the bolt (E) securely by turning clockwise.
- Plug the lamp into a standard 120V socket. Your lamp is ready for use.
- Turn the lamp on or off by depressing the rocker switch on the underside of the shade.
Tube Insertion/Replacement
- Make sure that the lamp is not plugged into an electrical socket.
- If the lamp has been in use, allow it to cool for approximately 5 minutes before proceeding.
- To install a tube (K) in the socket, grasp the tube firmly. Align tube pins with mating socket pin-holes, clip the tube into the shade clip, then push it straight into the socket until it "snaps" into place. Do not apply pressure to the glass end of the tube; pressure can be applied to the tube base.
- To remove a tube (K), grasp it firmly, angle it slightly out of the shade clip, and using a slight side-to-side rocking motion, pull it straight out of the socket. Do not twist or turn the tube. CAUTION: Avoid tube breakage from hitting the tube on the shade end.
- Plug the lamp into a standard 120V outlet.
- Turn the lamp on or off by depressing switch (J). Please note that OttLite® tubes are not dimmable during operation.
Enjoy your OttLite® Craft Plus Floor Lamp!
This lighting system is designed for use with OttLite® type tubes (style number PL24-C). Use of other products voids the warranty and may result in damage to the lighting system.
CAUTION! IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
- This portable lamp has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) as a feature to reduce the risk of electric shock. This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use with an extension cord unless the plug can be fully inserted. Do not alter the plug.
- If the external flexible cable or cord of this luminaire is damaged, it shall be exclusively replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similar qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. Indoor use only.
- To prevent electric shock, match the wide blade of the plug to the wide slot and fully insert.
