WARNING: To prevent electric shock, make sure the lamp is not plugged in until all assembly steps are complete.
Swivel Base Assembly
Follow these steps for assembly, referring to the diagrams:
- Snap part (J), which is a small cylindrical piece, onto the top of part (K), a larger flat circular base, to form disk (L), a combined swivel base.
- Insert the prongs of disk (L) into the circular metal hole in the bottom of the lamp and snap into place (M), securing the swivel base to the lamp body.
- The swivel base is now ready to use.
- Plug the lamp into a standard 120V socket. Your lamp is ready for use.
Tube Insertion/Replacement
Ensure the lamp is not plugged into an electrical socket before proceeding.
- If the lamp has been in use, allow it to cool approximately five minutes before proceeding.
- Remove the shade (A) and magnifier (B) by pulling them away from the lamp using a slight side-to-side rocking motion, as indicated in diagram (C), which shows the shade and magnifier being pulled away from the lamp body.
- To install a tube in the socket, hold the tube firmly by its base and push it straight into the socket until it "snaps" into place (F), which illustrates the tube being inserted directly into the socket.
- To remove a tube already installed in the lamp, grasp it firmly in your hand and pull it straight out of the socket (E), which shows the tube being pulled straight out. Do not twist or turn the tube.
- Replace the shade by pushing it back into the body of the lamp. Slide on the magnifier (B) at the front end of the shade, as shown in diagram (G), which depicts the shade and magnifier being reattached to the lamp.
- To tighten or loosen the tension in the shade pivot point, use a coin in the slot on the side of the lamp.
- To open the magnifier case for use, apply gentle pressure to the tab in the side of the case and pull the lid upward. The magnifier will then be exposed and you can flip it down for use.
- Plug the lamp into a standard 120V socket. Your lamp is ready for use.
CAUTION! RISK OF FIRE! NEVER PLACE THE MAGNIFIER ATTACHMENT UNDER DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
Please note that in operation, OttLite® tubes are not dimmable.
Enjoy your OttLite® 13W Magnifier Task Lamp!
