Getting Started

Charging the Battery

Note: Before using the headphones for the first time, charge the battery for 2 hours to ensure optimal battery capacity and lifespan.

Connect the USB-C cable:

→ During charging, the LED indicator glows white and turns off when the headphones are fully charged.

Tip: Full charging usually takes 2 hours.

Replacing the Battery

The battery is replaceable. To replace the battery, remove the cover of the left earcup using the special removal tool.

Note: A special removal tool is required. If you purchase a replacement battery, the removal tool is included free of charge.

Downloading the App

To download the app, scan the QR code, tap 'Download', or search for 'Philips Headphones' in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

The Philips Headphones app allows you to control your music. You can adjust the sound to best suit your music and calls.

First-time Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Ensure the headphones are fully charged and turned off.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn on the headphones. The headphones will enter pairing mode and be ready for connection.
  3. → The LED on the headphones will flash white and blue alternately.
  4. On your Bluetooth device, turn on Bluetooth.
  5. Pair the headphones with the Bluetooth device. Refer to your Bluetooth device's user manual.

Note:

The following example shows how to pair the headphones with a Bluetooth device:

  1. On your Bluetooth device, turn on Bluetooth and select 'Philips TAH8000E' from the list.
  2. If prompted for a password, enter '0000' (4 zeros). Devices with Bluetooth 3.0 or higher do not require a password.

Pairing with Another Bluetooth Device

If you want to pair the headphones with another Bluetooth device, turn on the headphones, press and hold the MFB for 5 seconds, then select the second device as you would for normal pairing.

Note: The headphones can store up to 5 devices. If you try to pair more than 5 devices, the oldest paired device will be replaced.

Connecting via 3.5mm Audio Cable

If the headphone battery is discharged or the device lacks Bluetooth functionality, you can connect the headphones to the device using a 3.5mm audio cable.

Using Your Headphones

Connecting to a Bluetooth Device

  1. On your Bluetooth device, turn on Bluetooth.
  2. Press and hold the power button to turn on the headphones.
  3. → The white LED will light up after 2 seconds.
  4. → The headphones will automatically connect to the last connected mobile phone/Bluetooth device.

Tip: If you turn on Bluetooth on your device after turning on the headphones, you may need to manually connect the headphones in the Bluetooth menu of your device.

Note: In some Bluetooth devices, automatic connection may not be established. In such cases, you will need to go to the Bluetooth menu on the device and manually pair the headphones with the Bluetooth device.

Controlling ANC (Active Noise Cancellation)

Turning ANC On

Switch between different active noise cancellation modes by pressing the [ANC] button on the right earcup once.

Note: When headphones are on and the battery is charging, this model supports active noise cancellation (ANC) in both wireless Bluetooth mode and wired mode via the 3.5mm jack.

Resetting Your Headphones

If you encounter problems with pairing or connection, you can reset the headphones to factory settings using the following procedure:

  1. On your Bluetooth device, go to the Bluetooth menu and remove 'Philips TAH8000E' from the device list.
  2. On your Bluetooth device, turn off Bluetooth.
  3. Turn on the headphones.
  4. Press and hold the 'Power' and 'ANC' buttons simultaneously for 4 seconds.
  5. Follow the instructions in the 'Using Your Headphones - Connecting to a Bluetooth Device' section.
  6. Pair the headphones with your Bluetooth device by selecting 'Philips TAH8000E' on it.

Questions & Answers

My Bluetooth headphones do not turn on.

Low battery charge. Charge the headphones.

Unable to pair Bluetooth headphones with a Bluetooth device.

Bluetooth function is turned off. Before turning on the headphones, turn on your Bluetooth device and activate its Bluetooth function.

How to reset pairing.

With the device powered on, press and hold the MFB for 5 seconds until the blue LED flashes. This activates the re-pairing mode for two scenarios: 1) putting the device into multipoint connection mode; 2) connecting to a new device as the signal source.

I hear sound, but cannot control music on my Bluetooth device (e.g., play/pause, skip forward/back).

Ensure your Bluetooth audio device supports the AVRCP profile (see 'Technical Data' section on page 13).

The headphone volume level is too low.

Some Bluetooth devices cannot synchronize the volume level with the headphones. In this case, you will need to adjust the volume on the Bluetooth device itself to achieve the desired volume level.

Bluetooth device cannot find the headphones.

Bluetooth headphones are connected to a Bluetooth stereo mobile phone, but music plays only through the mobile phone speaker.

Refer to your mobile phone's user manual. Enable music playback through the headphones.

Poor sound quality, crackling heard.

Regularly clean your headphones.

Regularly charge your headphones.

If the headphones are not used for a long time, the battery will lose its charge. To prevent this, fully charge the battery at least once every three months.
