Other Devices

A mobile phone or other device (e.g., notebook, tablet, Bluetooth adapters, MP3 players, etc.) that supports Bluetooth and is compatible with the headphones (see "Technical Specifications" on page 12).

Overview of Wireless Headphones

The headphones feature several controls and ports:

Getting Started

Charging the Battery

Note: Before using the headphones, charge the battery for two hours for optimal battery life and capacity. Use only the original USB-C cable for charging to avoid any damage. Charging will turn off the headphones. If the headphones are not used for a long time, the rechargeable battery will start to lose its charge. To avoid this loss, recharge the battery fully at least once every three months.

Connect the USB charging cable:

  • One end to the USB-C port on the headphones.
  • The other end to a charger or a computer's USB port.

During charging, the LED indicator will glow white and turn off once the headphones are fully charged.

Tip: Under normal conditions, it takes 2 hours for the battery to fully charge.

Diagram Description: A diagram shows a USB-C cable connected to the headphones' USB-C port and a power source (represented by a wall adapter icon). A battery icon with a lightning bolt indicates charging. A timer icon shows "2h" next to a full battery icon, indicating charging time.

Replacing the Battery

The battery can be replaced. A dedicated tool is required to open the left earcup cover for battery replacement.

Note: A dedicated tool is required. The opening tool is provided free of charge with the purchase of replacement batteries.

Diagram Description: A series of illustrations show how to open the earcup and replace the battery. It involves using a tool to pry open a cover, then lifting out the old battery and inserting a new one.

Downloading the App

Scan the QR code or press the "Download" button, or search for "Philips Headphones" on the Apple App Store or Google Play to download the app.

Diagram Description: A smartphone displaying a QR code is shown, with text pointing to it and indicating to scan it for app download. Below is the URL philips.to/headapp.

The Philips Headphones app gives you control over the music you listen to. You can adjust the sound to suit your listening preferences and phone calls.

Pairing Your Headphones with Your Bluetooth Device for the First Time

  1. Ensure the headphones are fully charged and turned off.
  2. Press and hold the power/on-off button for 2 seconds. The headphones will enter pairing mode and be ready for connection. The LED light on the headphones will flash white and blue alternately. The headphones are now in pairing mode and ready to pair with a Bluetooth device (e.g., a mobile phone).
  3. Turn on the Bluetooth function on your Bluetooth device.
  4. Pair the headphones with your Bluetooth device. Refer to your Bluetooth device's user manual.

Note: If the headphones cannot find a previously connected Bluetooth device after turning on, put them into pairing mode (press and hold the MFB for five seconds after turning them on). The headphones will automatically turn off after five minutes of Bluetooth inactivity. The exact time may vary depending on usage conditions.

Example Pairing:

  1. Turn on Bluetooth on your device and select "Philips TAH8000E".
  2. Enter the headphone passcode "0000" (4 zeros) if prompted. For devices with built-in Bluetooth 3.0 or newer, no passcode is required.

Diagram Description: A smartphone screen shows "Philips TAH8000E" selected in a Bluetooth device list. A Bluetooth icon is visible.

Pairing Headphones with Another Bluetooth Device

If you wish to pair another Bluetooth device with the headphones, turn on the headphones and press and hold the MFB for five seconds to discover the new device, as with normal pairing.

Diagram Description: A diagram shows the headphones and a smartphone. A timeline graphic indicates pressing and holding the MFB for "0:05" (5 seconds).

Note: Your headphones can store up to 5 paired devices in their memory. If you try to pair more than 5 devices, the earliest paired device will be replaced by the new one.

Multipoint Connection

Pairing: Pair the headphones with two devices, e.g., a mobile phone and a notebook.

Switching Between Devices:

  • You can listen to music from only one device at a time. The other device will be available for phone calls.
  • Pause audio from one device and play audio from another.

Note: When streaming audio from one device and receiving a call on another, the second device will automatically pause playback from the first. The call will automatically be routed to the headphones. When the call ends, playback from the first device will automatically resume.

Connecting Headphones to Your Device Using a 3.5 mm Audio Cable

When the battery on your headphones is low or your device does not have Bluetooth capabilities, they can be connected via a 3.5 mm audio cable.

Diagram Description: A diagram shows a 3.5 mm audio cable connecting from a smartphone to the 3.5 mm audio jack on the headphones.
