Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps carefully to assemble your SaunaLife CL5G Outdoor Sauna. Ensure you have all parts and tools ready before starting.
Step 1: Exterior Base Assembly
Begin by assembling the base structure. This involves connecting base components using screws (M) and potentially other parts like DET 1 and DET 2. Ensure the structure is square by checking diagonal measurements.
Step 2: Attaching Support Structures
Attach support elements (DET W) to the base structure. Use a water level to ensure proper alignment. Secure with screws (M).
Step 3: Installing Floor Supports
Install the main floor support planks (DET 3/H and DET 3). Use a rubber mallet to gently tap components into place. Fix DET 3/H components with four screws each, ensuring they have slots at the end. The screw pattern should be applied diagonally across the boards.
Step 4: Front Glass-Wall Assembly
Assemble the front glass-wall components (Sa, Ta, Sb, Tb). Ensure the backside is placed upwards. The outside edge will have an extra notch. Attach these panels using screws (I) and DET V brackets, with 16x J screws for securing.
Attention: Be extra careful not to hit the glass during assembly.
Step 5: Wooden Back Wall Assembly
Assemble the wooden back wall. Pre-drill holes (5/32") before inserting screws (H). Use DET U2 and DET I components for attachment.
Step 6: Erecting the Sauna Structure
Position the erected back wall and front glass-wall assembly. Use a water level to ensure the structure is plumb. Ensure markings on the wall are centered in the notches. Secure with screws (H).
Step 7: Temporary Wall Support
Temporarily support the walls using DET 3 components. Use a water level for alignment. Secure with screws (H). Ensure markings on the wall are centered in the notches.
Step 8: Securing Wall Planks
Remove the temporary DET 3 supports. Gently tap wall planks into place with a rubber mallet. Tighten screws (H) while leaving approximately a 1/4" gap to allow for adjustment when outer bands (DET A2) are installed. This gap is important for fitting the outer bands.
Step 9: Joining Wall Boards
Join wall boards together (as shown in diagram III) to bridge the gap (A). It is recommended that the combined boards are approximately 1/4" wider than the gap. Raise slightly before installing. Use the appropriate length screws to fasten the halves together. Pre-drill holes (5/32"). Use a rubber mallet for gentle adjustments.
Step 10: Initial Outer Band Fitting
Begin fitting the outer bands (DET A1, DET A2). Do not fix nuts very tightly yet. Place ratchet straps near the ends of the boards to hold them in place while you work. Pay attention to measurements (min. 2.36"). Remove screws after straps are in place.
Step 11: Final Outer Band Tightening
Now, fix all nuts tightly and remove the ratchet straps. Ensure the outer bands are secured properly.
Step 12: Interior Components and Vents
Remove any remaining temporary braces. Install the interior components, including benches and shelving. Install the upper and lower vents (DET G, DET F) using screws (K).
Step 13: Wall Mounting Brackets
Install mounting brackets for the interior walls. Use a water level for precise installation. Pay attention to the specified gaps (min. 1.38") from the glass wall. Use screws (H) and components DET 10a, DET 11a, and DET 10c.
Step 14: Bench and Shelf Installation
Install the main benches and shelves. Use components DET 11, DET 12, DET 10, and DET 10b. Pre-drill holes (5/32") for all screw connections. Do not overtighten screws.
Step 15: Additional Bench/Shelf Support
Install any remaining bench or shelf supports using DET 10b and DET 14 components. Pre-drill holes (5/32") for secure fastening.
Step 16: Door Installation
Install the door (DET 21) and its frame components (DET 21c, 21d, 21a, 21b). The door must open outwards. If needed, rotate the door 180 degrees to change the handle side. Use a water level for accurate placement. Ensure the door frame is pressed tightly against the wall and fasten from the inside using screws (H and J).
Step 17: Heater Guard Installation
Install the heater guard components (DET 16, DET 15a, DET 15b, DET 15d, DET 15c). ATTENTION: The heater guard may not meet safety distances for all heaters and should not be used if the heater does not fit. Leave a small gap (~0.2") from the board end. Fasten screws at a slight angle. If your sauna heater is smaller, you can cut DET 15b to length.
Step 18: Final Wall Reinforcement
Secure the outer walls with additional components (DET 22) using screws (H). Check for squareness and stability.
Step 19: Underlay Felt Installation
Install the underlay felt. Refer to the separate underlay installation manual provided in the package. Remove the bottom film first. Cut and remove the top film. Turn the end to the edge and clamp it. Proceed similarly on all edges, ensuring approximately 2" overlap. Cut off excess parts.
Step 20: Shingle Roof Installation
Install the roof shingles (DET N, DET O). Refer to the shingle installation manual. Shingles should overlap on top. Ensure an end view angle of approximately 0.35". Refract DET N into 3 pieces as needed. Cut DET O components as indicated.
Step 21: Final Exterior Trim
Attach the final exterior trim components (DET 25a, DET 25b) using screws (H). Ensure they are aligned correctly with the sauna structure.
