Installation Instructions
- Remove the rear bumper, two fixings on the bottom edge, five fixing in each wheel arch and one fixing either side of boot opening, unclip the corners and pull rearwards.
- Cut a section from the lower edge of the bumper. SEE SKETCH. If required trim to suit.
- Remove the crash beam; this is not refitted with Towbar assembly.
- Lower exhaust and support to prevent damage.
- Remove the tape from Towbar mounting points found on the inside face of each chassis member.
- Insert items C into each chassis member and loosely fix in place using item E with item G.
- Using item E fix item A between items C.
- Using item J with item H and item F fit item B with item D to item A.
- We advise that you install your desired wiring into the vehicle now before refitting the bumper.
- Fully tighten all nuts and bolts and ensure Towbar is rigid and secure.
- Refit exhaust, heat shield and bumper.
Assembly Diagrams
The diagrams illustrate the Tow-Trust TVV1SN towbar assembly for Volvo S60, V60, and V70 vehicles. The main diagram shows the central crossmember (A) which attaches to the vehicle chassis via handed side arms (C). The swan neck towball assembly (B), complete with a socket plate (D), is mounted to the crossmember. Various hardware components are depicted for installation: M12 x 40 bolts, nuts, and S/P washers (E); 15mm spacer plates (F); 12 x 40 flat washers (G); 12 x 25 flat washers (H); and M12 x 110 Grade 10.9 bolts with Nyloc nuts (J). The diagram indicates specific mounting locations on the vehicle chassis for S60/V60 and V70 models, with key dimensions noted as 90 and 110. A separate diagram shows the TVV1 VK towbar assembly.
Notes
- Recommended Torque Setting for M12 Grade 10.9: 139 Nm. (For other Torque Settings see notes overleaf.)
- Nose load limits and vehicle manufacturer's trailer / caravan weight limits must be observed.
