IKEA MALM Chest of 2 Drawers

This document provides assembly instructions for the IKEA MALM chest of 2 drawers. Please follow these steps carefully to ensure correct assembly.

Note: Two people may be helpful for certain steps. Avoid assembling on abrasive surfaces to prevent damage.

Assembly Steps

Step 1

Attach eight (8x) screws (118331) to the designated holes on the base and top panels of the main carcass.

Step 2

Attach four (4x) cabinet-side drawer slide runners (part of 10056137/110519) to the side panels of the main carcass. Ensure correct orientation.

Step 3

Insert eight (8x) wooden dowels (101345) into the corresponding holes on the side panels of the main carcass.

Step 4

Connect the side panels to the base panel, aligning the dowels. Secure them by inserting cam locks (120076) into the larger holes on the base panels and turning them to lock the dowels.

Step 5

Place the top panel onto the assembled carcass, aligning it with the dowels and holes.

Step 6

Attach the back panel to the carcass. Secure the back panel and the drawer slide mechanisms (10056137) to the inside of the carcass using cam locks (120076).

Step 7

Attach four (4x) screws (118331) to the drawer front panel.

Step 8

Insert wooden dowels (101345) into the drawer side panels. Attach the drawer side panels to the drawer front panel using the inserted dowels and screws (118331).

Step 9

Attach the drawer back panel to the drawer side panels using cam locks (120076).

Step 10

Slide the drawer bottom panel into the grooves of the drawer sides and back.

Step 11

Secure the drawer bottom panel by inserting one (1x) screw (101221) into the designated hole.

Step 12

Attach the drawer front panel to the assembled drawer box using one (1x) screw (101221) at the top.

Step 13

Secure the drawer assembly by inserting twenty-seven (27x) screws (101221) into the designated holes around the perimeter of the drawer box.

Step 14

The main carcass assembly is now complete.

Step 15

Attach four (4x) screws (118331) to the side panels of the main unit.

Step 16

Secure the side panels using four (4x) cam locks (120076).

Step 17

Insert the back panel into the main unit.

Step 18

Attach the top panel to the main unit.

Step 19

Attach the drawer slide mechanisms (110519) to the drawer box and the main unit. Use four (4x) screws and two (2x) screws (115339) as indicated.

Step 20

Attach the drawer slide mechanisms (10056137) to the drawer box and the main unit. Use two (2x) screws (100365) for each side.

Step 21

Insert the assembled drawer into the main unit. The drawer handles (153548) should be attached to the drawer front panels.
